"Adam?" Wanda's voice drew Adam's focus coming at her. The woman approached Adam who was wearing his work boots.
She smiled sweetly. Sit next to Adam. "Don't forget to bring an umbrella. It will be raining again in the afternoon" said Wanda half-smile. He glanced at Adam, occasionally looking the other way.
Adam nodded in understanding. He already knew Wanda's arrival this time, what's the aim for?
"May I ask you, son?" Wanda rubbed Adam's back gently. "I know that you don't want to talk about this right now, but I need to get rid of my curiosity immediately."
Adam just smiled faintly. His head nodded as if understanding Wanda's curiosity.
"About Laura" said Adam. He started. This is how to be a man. He has to dare to take responsibility. "I'm sorry, Mom."
"Why should I apologize?" Wanda is still soft. "You just want to help her, don't you?"
Adam mangosteen. "Yesterday night I got a message from Aunt Danira. She said Laura was alone at a stop near the police station."
"Laura doesn't want to go home with Aunt Danira and her husband. So they had to leave Laura there" he said. Adam tried to explain. "At that hour, there will be no city buses passing by. So I came and picked her up."
"You're worried about him?" Wanda asked again. Now along with his eyes. "What's big?"
Adam was silent for a long time. He looked at the woman beside him intently.
"Why is he silent? That question is hard for you, Dam?" Wanda smiled thinly. "Well, if it's hard. No need to answer. I just ...."
"What did Bu Wanda actually say?" Adam finds out the hidden meaning of Wanda. "I'll go to work if there's none" he said.
Wanda pretty much held all of this back here. She is not Adam's mother, but she knows how Adam lived and how to treat women. Adam is not random. His father and mother always told him to uphold the honor of the women.
"Why did you marry Laura then?" ask Wanda suddenly. She's looking. "Only because of the indirect matchmaking of your late parents?"
Adam did not answer.
"You can turn it down, Dam. That's not formal. No agreement whatsoever, your late parents will also know why you chose not to marry Laura."
"I'm sorry for him, Mom." Adam answered in the end. "I want to take responsibility for her pregnancy. I feel like I can do that."
Adam lowered his head. "Sadly, I failed."
Wanda breathed quite heavily. Adam's hand and held tightly. "If Nurwa?" tanyakanya.
Adam looked at Wanda.
Adam had no reason. He just wanted to take responsibility for his own words and promises. However, he knew that it could not be used as an excuse. It is his responsibility as a man.
Wanda suddenly laughed, but Adam said nothing. Of course there is wonder because of it.
"Is there something funny, Mom?" ask Adam. He frowned. "I guess .. I haven't said anything before."
"That's funny you." Wanda looked at Adam again. "You firmly answered the reason you married Laura, but you couldn't answer when I asked about Nurwa?"
"I-i ...." Adam stutters.
"You just have to say your heart, like when you explained your situation about Laura." Wanda tilted her body. A smile is never absent from his old face.
"Dam, listen to me." Wanda began to get serious, while Adam looked at her still not fully understood. "Married it's not about promises alone" he said.
"Mom knows you owe Nurwa a promise and her brother, right?" Wanda didn't guess the origin. Seeing how Adam's expression responded, his guess was definitely correct.
"If you marry, you will live together. Forever, every day, without pause." Wanda said as she continued to rub the back of Adam's hand gently.
He looked at his son, then smiled sweetly. "Your marriage and Laura's failed, neither entirely your fault nor entirely Laura's."
Adam took a breath. "Why talk about it, Mom? It had absolutely nothing to do with my decision to marry Nurwa."
"Of course there is!" Wanda slightly snapped, the only time Adam spoke half-consciously.
"Adam, every day you still think about Laura. Whenever there's something about the girl, you're always in a hurry. You prioritize her, regardless of anything." Wanda started to review what happened. "You think I don't know?"
"The two of you have decided not to see each other for the past week, you also promise to forget about it." Wanda spoke again. "You did do that, intending to focus on Nurwa. But what is the truth?"
Adam could not speak.
"You're even willing to borrow a neighbor's car just to pick up Laura." Wanda closed her sentence. "I call it not pity, Dam. I call it love."
Adam looked at Wanda nonstop.
"You still love him. You love Laura not Nurwa, Dam." Wanda tried to wake Adam up. "Then, you still want to force your marriage?"
Wanda really ended. "It'll only hurt you both."
