The night sky hangs sparkling stars up there. The silent atmosphere with the chirping of crickets could not calm Laura's heart. A few minutes passed, his silence could no longer be tolerated. Adam broke the promise.
Laura called him to talk behind the house. The goal is that the mother does not hear their debate. Adam did not approve nor did he reject it. The man simply said, "I'll do it."
Laura clucked in annoyance. "Damn that one!" He almost turned away from his place, looking wherever Adam was.
Laura was shocked as Adam stood behind her. Without any sound.
"You surprised me!" grouse Laura.
Adam laughed in his place. "At least a reply after you swore at me" he chided.
Laura looked the other way. Wasting your face while breathing. "He really sucks ...."
Adam heard his grunts. Clearly it was for her, Laura had not changed at all.
"Say I said something, didn't I?" Adam tried to get his attention again. "I just got home from school, I have some work to do."
"I came home fast because you said you wanted to talk. So I prioritized ...." Adam froze in place as soon as Laura's gaze sharply pointed at him. He was killed without a dagger.
"You're still justifying what you did?" Laura started talking about it.
"I'm talking about Daffa!" The girl grumbled softly, hoping that her tone would not reach her mother's ears.
Adam smiled. "Some sooner or later he'll know too. He deserves to know your new status."
"He can spread it to other friends!" Laura was still annoyed with Adam. "If Belen also knew, Almira knew, then the whole school would know!"
"I'm not sure she's gonna spread it, Laura." Adam responded to Laura's anger so casually.
"Looks like he's not up to the heart of spreading it, Laura." Adam added again. His confidence was so great, unlike Laura's.
Laura nodded long. "Why are you so sure? What if he spreads it? You will also lose your job!"
"Then your pregnancy for her will also be spread out," Adam replied increasingly confidently.
Laura was silent, Adam was much more mature than her. Lately the situation made Laura panic so, sometimes she got out of control like crazy.
Adam approached Laura. Grabbing both shoulders and smiling. "You don't have to worry about anything, I'll take care of it if anything happens."
"You can count on me. I'm a grown man" Adam said.
Hearing that, Laura laughed. "You are so funny!"
"I'm serious, Laura." Adam lowered his voice. "I am your husband."
"You want me to calm down?" Laura mangosteen not sure. "With your mental state that you're not okay in there?"
Adam was silent. He froze without a wart.
"Papa's gone, mama's different." Laura began to review. "Mama is quieter and aloof!"
"Mom rarely eats and rarely leaves the room!" Laura started to grumble. "Mama looks like a depressed person or I don't know her at all" she said. "I lost my family and my happy days .. Then you want me to stay calm?"
Adam was trying to understand Laura. The wounds in his heart could not be described with words, circumstances changed everything in just the blink of an eye.
"You still want me to calm down?" Laura repeated her question.
Adam mangosteen. "I know, it must be hard for both of you."
"Yet, Laura. Just trust that the storm will pass. Your mama and you will definitely be back fine after accepting all the circumstances" added Adam.
"What if it doesn't?" Laura nodded again. "I'm pregnant and now I have to lose everything. I'm married to a man I don't even remember when his birthday was, what was his favorite color, what did you eat and what didn't you eat?"
Laura rubbed her face rough. "I don't know who you are and even I don't know what your long name is!" He's upset with himself.
Laura looked at Adam again. "I can't calm down, Mr. Adam."
"Adam Dhanurendra" said Adam suddenly.
Laura squinted her eyes. His focus was blocked by Adam's smile again.
"I like the color blue sea, I like to eat spicy egg rice the most and I don't like peanuts, I'm allergic to peanuts" he added. Adam answered all of Laura's questions.
"September 21st is my birthday. Don't give cakes, 'cause I don't like wet cakes. Better give me a sleeping lamp because I can't sleep with a light and too dark." Adam smiled again. "I like dim nights and soothing yellow lights."
Laura bergeming. In a few seconds he spent getting to know Adam, even though he wasn't perfect.
"Enough to know me?" ask Adam again. "The rest, let's go together."
Laura slowly grinned. "You're so shameless!"
"I didn't do anything wrong. So why should I be ashamed?" Adam remained in his position. "I'm just doing my job as your husband."
Laura slurped. A thousand swearing he held in his mind, hoping that Adam would understand anger without him having to raise his tone.
"Have you forgotten what Mom said that night?" ask Laura. "Mama wants you to divorce me and mama wants you to give me my life back!"
"You should divorce me immediately upon returning to Jakarta and—"
Laura's sentence came to a halt when she heard something fall from the top floor. Not broken glass, but a large object that hit the ground.
Laura almost looked up. But Adam suddenly grabbed his body. Dropped Laura in her warm embrace.
Laura wants to break away. Rebelling as much as possible, though he knows Adam's body is much bigger than his. His power could not defeat Adam.
"What's going on!" Laura's angry. "I want to see what's falling!"
"Don't look" Adam said. The decapitation is getting stronger. "You can't see it."
Hearing Adam's voice full of fear, Laura looked for a gap to look up and looked at Adam's face. From the way he stared, Adam began to lose his calm stance.
"Sir Adam ...." Laura glimmered when she saw Adam's tears dripping with the corners of her eyes reddening.
"What ...." Laura stopped when Adam softened. His embrace was not as strong as before. The girl used the space slit to escape.
When Laura turned her head, looking at what was far away from the balcony upstairs, her entire body went limp instantly.
Laura squealed with tears that suddenly flowed profusely. His tongue was aghast, unable to speak. The madness in his head was empty. He was empty in an instant.
Adam grabbed Laura's body and hugged her from behind.
"Laura, don't look" he whispered.
Laura pushed Adam's body. As strong as he rose from his place, running towards Desi who was lying limp with more and more pools of blood.
"Mama!" laura shouted towards Desi's corpse.
