Hell's Charm From My Wife

Hell's Charm From My Wife
149. The slap!

Adam sat down at his desk. She was busy with some work piling up towards the end of the school year.

Adam is back here again. It took a bit of struggle to convince the people at this school that he wouldn't make any mistakes.

"The third grade exam grade is out."

The conversation stopped Adam's activities. The man glanced at the group of test appraising teachers gathered at the end of the room, surrounding a fairly large sized table.

"As expected, the rank never changes."

Adam smiled faintly. He continued his activities, trying to cover up his happiness. Even without being mentioned, Adam knows who the object of conversation of teachers in this school when it comes to grades and achievements.

"Laura Mentari got the perfect score."

Is correct. That was Adam's guess.

Adam nodded his head and muttered, "I'm proud of you, Ra."

"Unfortunately, I heard the Laura family's economy isn't as good as it used to be. Laura Mentari no longer has parents" said a teacher. "He may not be able to continue his studies."

Adam remained silent. The violently scraping pen movements had stopped, his eyes fixed on one point, silent without action, but his mind started to wander.

"When with this value he can enter medical school at the most prestigious campus abroad even once," he said again.

"He can use a scholarship" said the other.

"Laura Mentari couldn't take the scholarship, she missed the exam a few weeks ago."

Adam frowned. He doesn't know anything about that.

"Laura will have to wait for the next scholarship exam, but a little while."

Adam closed the book. He decided to move out of his place. As he was leaving, a teacher rebuked him.

"Where is Adam going?" tanyakanya.

Adam looked. He smiled simply. "I have class" he said, lying. "I'll say goodbye, Mom."

Adam came out of the teacher's room. The atmosphere was not as lively as when he heard the chatter about Laura earlier.

Adam's mind became unsettled, in fact Laura's future had been at stake since the girl's pregnancy.

Adam could do nothing. Stupidly, he just let it all happen.

"I have to how?" Adam took a long breath. He walked down the school hallway, about to find a place to smoke, at least.

"If Laura could really go to college anywhere she wanted with her grades, wouldn't I be too evil to keep her in this place?" Adam's mind began to stir.

"She can go to Malaysia or Singapore, depending on where her family would accept her."

In the midst of Adam's daydreams and the man's footsteps, the voice of the girl called out to him. When Adam looked, he was Laura.

Laura approached Adam. Smile occasionally.

"Sir Adam, I have something to talk about." Laura looked at Adam innocently. The girl looks so excited.

Adam just fell silent and nodded his head.

"Can we talk here?" Laura flirted to and fro, making sure it was safe and conducive to start a private conversation.

Laura smiled thinly. "It's about a marriage offer that Mr. Adam ...."

"Offer?" Adam says.

Laura was silent for a moment, gawking when Adam's response did not match her expectations.

"I mean ... an invitation to build a relationship with Mr. Adam again," Laura replied confirming his sentence.

Adam was silent again. She just looked at Laura who was trying to eliminate the nervousness inside her. Adam knew Laura, the super-possessor, when it came to feelings. However, this girl was struggling to put aside that prestige right now.

"I've thought about it" Laura said.

While Adam was only silent from earlier, waiting for Laura to finish her sentence.

Laura slurped, she was fretting for no reason. Adam would not reject his thought. They both know that love has blossomed in the hearts of both of them.

"I accept." Laura closed her sentence by turning her face away. It was not as easy as he had thought.

"What?" ask Adam again.

Laura looked at Adam. "The offer" Laura replied. He tried to hide the shy smile on his face. "Marriage offer too," murmured Laura softly.

Laura lowered her head, playing with the tips of her feet as awkwardly expanded between them.

"I can't marry you, Laura." Adam's words became the bomb that had just exploded on Laura's day.

The girl looked up, looked at Adam in silence, a little surprised. Nah! Laura was really surprised.

"Sir Adam?"

Adam took a breath. "Laura, I can't marry you." Adam repeated his words. This time it was more firm. "We can't get married."

Laura's heart was so sore, it was so tight. She almost cried.

"Why ...." Laura stutters, loses the ability to speak.

Adam gave a long sigh. "What can we expect from both of us after marriage?"

Laura was completely silent. Adam changed in one night. In fact, right now, Adam was looking at him with dislike.

"Laura, think about a complicated marriage." Adam suddenly tried to be wise, when before he did not care about it.

"We were married and we failed with that" Adam said. "We cannot repeat the failure that will ...."

Laura slapped Adam. Hard enough. Fortunately, no one was looking at them at the moment.

"Dream," murmured Laura with a fiery rage. Both of his eyes were glazed, blushing.

Laura did not want to cry, but her heart hurt. He had just flown into space, but Adam had dropped him just like that. It felt really sick and tightness that could not be defined by anything either.

"Tell me if you don't want to marry me!" Laura shouts. "Don't take refuge in the past!"

Adam could not answer, Laura turned away from him. The girl just left Adam. Adam, too, refused to pursue him.

"I'm sorry, Laura."
