22. The Undesirable Husband

Laura breathed out many times. Fret enveloped his silence. Not about him, but what he saw. Adam with Nurwa.

"This Adam's mummy is so funny" Nurwa muttered as she played her finger.

Adam turned his head, looking at Nurwa in silence.

"Married a foreign young girl who was pregnant with a child" Nurwa said as if denouncing. "You must take responsibility for the depraved behavior of another man."

Nurwa had to sacrifice all her feelings for Adam, even though Nurwa was always proud of this man.

Adam smiled knot. "Not wrong, is it, Nur?" Adam remained patient, even though he knew Nurwa was coming in with disappointment.

"I liked Adam a long time ago" he said. Nurwa confessed again. "I am always beside him, Mas Adam, but he is the one whom Mas Adam married."

Nurwa's protest won't change anything.

"Once again I'm sorry, Nur." Adam was so gentle. "I must have let you down."

"Dad too!" Nurwa looked at Adam with jelly. I hope that Adam's remorse changes his anger. But Adam remained the same. Strong on his stance.

"I told you once that we must be married, Adam." Talking like that makes Nurwa's heart congested instead of playing.

Nurwa snorted in annoyance. "You left me."

Adam is not entirely wrong, Nurwa who put more hope in him.

"We can't change anything now either, Nur." Adam resigned without wanting to fight, he wanted to continue his marriage.

Nurwa shook her head. He dared to touch Adam's hand. "Somebody can change things."

Adam did not react, this time he let Nurwa as he pleased himself. Maybe this way he can make up for his mistake.

"You can divorce Laura, Adam."

Nurwa's sentence just made Adam dumbfounded. There hasn't been a month they've lost contact, Nurwa has changed a lot.

"If you divorce her, I will wait for you again." Nurwa was convincing. "As you say, I'll wait for you to succeed."

Adam slowly released Nurwa's grasp. He doubted the kindness of this girl. "Nurwa, listen to me."

"You shouldn't be like this. You have a longer future" replied Adam. He said so softly. "My words of that time, were not really in their meaning, Nur."

Nurwa was made to not understand.

"I rejected your informal marriage proposal, not because I was afraid I couldn't make you happy." Adam started to blunt.

Nurwa began to fret for no reason. He had not prepared the heart space to accept this bad sentence.

"I don't love you, Nur." Adam rejects Nurwa after holding it for years

Nurwa's heart was so hot. His chest felt tight and could barely even breathe.

"Mas Adam ...." Nurwa looked at Adam with disappointment. "Why did Adam say that?"

Adam was silent. Although she had never felt an intense romance with the opposite sex, Adam knew that her answer had just broken her heart.

"Nurwa, I can't explain." Adam got up from his seat. He couldn't hurt Nur wah more than this.

Nurwa did not accept it. "Mas Adam said that because he wanted me to stay away from Mas Adam?"

"I knew that Mas Adam was forced to marry Laura" Nurwa said. He almost grabbed Adam's hand. "But this is not how it works."

"Nur, I'm really sorry about you." Adam repeated. "I must have let you down."

"Mas Adam." Nurwa almost cried. This woman just uses her feelings without logic, chasing Adam to get back to her. Though Nurwa should have known, it was a waste of her time.

"I prefer Laura and her circumstances" Adam said firmly. "I'm not going to divorce her. I'll keep it with him."

On the way home, Laura did not dare to look at Adam who was walking beside her. Looking for the object of view so as not to be too awkward now.

"What did the doctor say?" Adam interrupted. "When can you drop the contents?"

Laura did not answer. Pretend not to hear Adam's question.

"It takes a lot of money to drop the contents?" Adam kept trying to get Laura's attention. "You don't have any money?"

Laura looked at Adam. "You underestimated me?"

"Your parents died and the company went bankrupt. You don't even have a car to pick you up anymore and your papa's secretary resigns." Adam was trailing all the bad things that happened in Laura's life.

Laura stopped at her place. Looked at Adam. "Your words are too much!"

"If aborting the womb takes more than tens of millions" said Adam, ignoring Laura. "Should I get you money? As a form of compensation for our marriage as well."

Laura was dusting in her place. Her nose was flattened, enduring the annoyance for Adam. This tall man was truly unique to her.

It seems Faishal knew that Adam was the most appropriate caretaker to take care of Laura after her death. This man has his own art to understand Laura.

"I'll apply for a loan. Part of me now is PNS yang—"

"Stop talking about it!" Laura grumbled in annoyance at the end. "You make me look bad."

Laura walked again, ahead of Adam who stood in her place.

Adam smiled faintly, here is his hope.

"The doctor said it was too strong to abort." Laura welcomed Adam again with that line. "The procedure is also difficult."

Adam looked at Laura. The universe gives a bad destiny to a beautiful girl.

"The doctor is waiting for me to think about it" Laura added. "Removing this content might change a lot of things including the possibility that I could get pregnant in the future."

Laura looked at Adam. He jostled lightly when he saw Adam was just a goatee like a fool.

"Currently, you don't understand, do you?" the upset. Laura sighed. "of course. You're a man."

Adam smiled in anguish. "I want some ice cream, will you?"

Laura looked up while squinting her eyes. This guy is too 'random' for himself.

"The food truck is crowded, it must be good ice cream." Adam pointed to the food truck on the side of the road. "There's a promo too."

Laura almost gagged this guy all out. He was joking in the midst of Laura's seriousness. Unfortunately, before Laura swore an oath to this man, Adam had already preceded him. Inevitably, Laura must follow.

"Wait for me!" shouted Laura. He almost stumbled across a rock while chasing Adam. Luckily Adam caught Laura's body, almost hugging her.

"Be careful!" adam's grumbling was full of worry. "I don't care if you get hurt, tomorrow will be healed."

Laura's beating. Immediately he pushed Adam's body from getting too close to him. It feels awkward to air like that.

"From now on worry about our son, Laura." Adam replied again. "We have to take care of her."

Adam left Laura in her place. The girl seemed to be bewitched by his words. Laura simply looked at Adam's departure from the man's wide back.

"Why me?" Laura grumbled softly. He shook his head. "I can't like him!"

"Then just like me" someone replied. His arrival surprised Laura.

"Daffa?"
