The Horizon Boundaries

The Horizon Boundaries
Ch.81 Changes to Schedule

Mr. Chandra sat pensively in his study. Occasionally his eyes glanced at the mobile phone on the table not far from him. He tapped his finger on the table.

No word from the boy yet. Maisa should have arrived in Jogja by now. He was waiting for his phone to ring.

"Sir, this is a project to sign." Aron's voice startled his daydream. The man thrust a green map into his presence.

"You should have knocked on the door first" replied Chandra as he opened the map.

"I've knocked it a few times. But it seems like you are not listening. Is there another problem?"

Mr. Chandra did not answer his aide's question. His eyes still glanced at the phone that had not yet sounded as well.

Aron smiled watching the turmoil of his boss. It must have something to do with Maisa. "I heard Maisa to Jogja."

"Yes," replied Chandra briefly. He checked the file and signed it.

"If you're so worried, why not just call him. Who knows if he's sleeping on the road."

Mr. Chandra handed the map to Aron. His look looks upset. "Just focus on your work there!"

Aron's words bothered him so much. He was twirling the phone in his hand. Whether you need to call the child or not. He tightened his molars.

That kid must be okay.

...****...

The noise of the car wheels clashing with the rails. The train slowly stops at Tugu Yogya Station. Tailored train down to the platform. Maisa waited for a new light to come down.

A middle-aged man approached him. He helped carry the backpack that was draped on his back.

"Thank you, Uncle," Maisa said to the man who was none other than her uncle.

Along the way the girl's face was facing towards the road. He doesn't talk much. The tail of his eyes occasionally glanced at his cell phone. No messages or calls came from his father. He took a long breath.

Maisa's car stopped at a typical country house. A white-haired woman came out to the girl. Maisa smiled at her grandmother. He hugged her tightly. Behind him appeared his grandfather who wore a cape cap out of gardening.

"So how long have you stayed here, Nduk?" ask grandma in a soft tone.

"About three days, Grandma."

"Yes already. While here playing as much as before. Later will miss if it is already in Paris," said grandfather also added.

Maisa nodded slowly with a warm smile drawn on her face. The plan is so. Spend the rest of the holiday in Yogya.

Now he stands in the shop of his first painting tool. His head looked up at the familiar shop signboard in his eyes. The girl breathed a long breath. His forehead was wrinkled inexhaustibly.

"I could have stopped by here. I've been a painting maniac for a long time," he murmured slowly.

Maisa put her shopping bag beside her feet. He sat on the bench of the square. Enjoy the crowd of twilight. Colorful ornamental car passing by carrying passengers.

The girl opened her phone again. He saw the message he sent to his father last night. There's no reply yet. Just a message coming in from Mia and Ken asking for news.

"Is it better for your father or not, Nduk?" ask Grandma suddenly at dinner.

"Thankful that I have. There will be no thoughts of studying abroad. If the mind is plong, it's good."

Maisa nodded her head hearing the curses from her grandmother while making a smile. After helping to clean up the kitchen, he went straight into his room.

Again his eyes could not be separated from the message sent by his father. There is still no reply.

Pa, Maisa will immediately leave for Paris after Yogja. May Papa be healthy always.

He typed the message on his father and then deleted it again several times. With doubt Maisa pressed the send message button.

He put his cell phone next to his body. His eyes looked at the ceiling. Hopefully his actions this time are right. His heart was pierced to see his father ignore him.

Maisa's head fell off the pillow. Half-conscious, he heard his phone ring. Without paying attention to who called directly lifted up.

What did your message mean?

A cold voice from across the street resuscitated his drowsiness. Maisa rushes to get up and see who's calling.

"Papa?" slowly rumbling.

He put the phone to his ear. "Ah.. That's I guess not to take time, Pa. So I'm going straight to Paris."

Oh. great. The sooner, the better.

Maisa was silent for a moment hearing that answer. "Will Papa come here?"

Wh-wh-what for?

"Hmm... visit grandma and ...."

Mr. Chandra cut his words.

It can be done sometime. I don't have time to play around.

"But!"

Don't act like a child. Do I have to waste my time just to take you away?

The girl nodded at biting her lips.

I just want to hear a careful statement on your way.

Maisa squeezed his chest. He tried to smile. "If I miss Papa, may I come and hold you?"

The girl was waiting. No answer from across the phone. "Then I'll see you again on vacation, Pa."

Maisa dropped the phone on her leg. He hugged his knees. His chest feels heavy. Clear liquid pooled in his eye pelur.

"Eagerness, Sa. You've tried your best," his murmur cheered himself on.
