The Horizon Boundaries
Ch.66 Just as You Like

Maisa observed the fifteen-story building. Some people were dressed in formal attire and then walked into the building. The girl tightened her grip on the strap of the mint color handbag. He took a deep breath and breathed it out.

Maisa steadied her heart into the building. Security officers opened the door. The girl walked slowly to the reception desk.

"What CEO Pradipta is in place. I want to see him," he said slowly.

The receptionist noticed her appearance from the tip of her foot to the tip of her head. Very ordinary. He called someone.

"Sorry, he's in a meeting. Have you had any appointments before?"

"No! Then I'll wait."

Maisa went straight to the waiting room. The two receptionists whispered to each other, questioning who the girl was. Some of the servants who passed by also looked at him in wonder.

He should have dressed more formally. But yeah, that's it. He was already wearing a T-shirt and jacket with a zipper left open. His hand scrolled his instagram. His finger stopped at Ken's account.

The photo of Ken's back turned the camera and his face turned to the left. His eyes stared intently without a smile, displaying a mysterious impressed facial expression. Black jacket slung over his right shoulder. His left hand loosened the tie. He read the caption below him.

'My eyes are always on one place and that's you.'

The girl could not help her smile. It was like he was flirting with someone. Her hands were itching to see some more posts.

Time keeps passing. Then people passed by next to the waiting room. Without feeling nearly three hours he waited. Maisa kept glancing at the watch in her hand.

He went back to the reception desk and asked again. The two women smiled in disdain.

"Sorry, Ma'am. You're busy and don't have time to meet someone who doesn't have an appointment before."

Maisa. He wants to follow the procedure here. Since these two receptionists annoyed him, his fingers immediately punched someone's number.

"Sir Aron! Is Papa busy? Otherwise I'll go up now. I have something to say for a moment."

Maisa hung up. He smiled at the two receptionists. "So, what floor is the CEO's room on?"

"On the fourteenth floor, Ma'am."

A thirty year old man came to him. He glanced at the two receptionists. Both of them lowered their faces.

"Why didn't Miss just go upstairs?" asked Aron to step into the girl's footsteps.

"Say Papa was busy. So I waited a minute."

"It's been done two hours ago."

Maisa's turn was swerving to hear it. He said he was upset in his heart had been bullied by the two receptionists. Aron pushed the elevator button. Arriving at the fourteenth floor, Maisa went straight into the CEO's room.

Mr. Chandra was sitting on the sofa sipping his coffee. Aron came out and closed the door. Maisa sat in front of him.

"What do you want to talk about? I don't have much time" his father said in a heavy tone.

Funnier. Just now he heard from Aron that his father was free after the meeting. At the instant this middle-aged man before him, was still his father. After all, he is still his family.

"I want to study in France. I'm here to ask your permission, Pa."

Mr. Chandra put the coffee cup to the table. He cupped his hands together with fingers poking each other.

"Just do as you please. But I won't-." Mr. Chandra's speech was immediately broken by Maisa.

"I didn't ask Papa to pay for my college there. And this." Maisa offered her father an ATM card and an obsolete bankbook. After that he left.

"Aron, please check the contents of this account" he told his personal aide. The man nodded taking the ATM and the account book.

...****...

Maisa squatted in front of her mother's grave. His hands sprinkled flowers onto the ground of the tomb. His hands gently stroked the tombstone that read Arini Wardani.

"Ma, I came to visit you. I'm sorry to see you in this condition. You know, Papa can't forgive me. So I decided to pursue my own happiness. I hope you forgive me too."

The girl stood up after talking at length alone there. A smile spread on his lips.

"Goodbye, Ma. Next time I'll visit you again."

Maisa took her foot out of the cemetery. He was stunned to see someone he knew waiting by the side of the road.

"Are you saying goodbye to Mama?" kio said walking closer to the girl.

Maisa nodded slowly. He didn't want to ask how his brother knew he was here. His eyes stared at the orange with a hint of clouds.

"I just want to leave without regret," he murmured softly.

Along the way, the two were silent. Maisa hugged her waist tightly. The motorbike stopped at a seafood restaurant.

Maisa frowned. As he remembered, he didn't ask Kio to bring him here. The man did not say much, immediately pulling him in.

Inside is Chandra sir. Maisa looked towards Kio. Is this his idea. No way his dad's taking three dinners. The last time he asked to be rejected by his father.

"What are you planning on doing Kio?" chandra said with a cold tone.

"Of course eat three. What else is it?"

His guess turned out to be true. Even his father did not look at him. Maisa could only smile bitterly. What else did he expect.

Dinner was cold. Not a word came out of his mouth. Only the sound of the clang of the spoon and fork clashed with the plate.

"I'm sorry! I can't mediate you guys" Kio said after delivering her home, in front of his tiny rented house.

Maisa took a long breath. "Don't apologize again, Brother."

Kio stuck out his hand wanting to wipe his sister's hair, but undone. Her chest feels tight. He rode his motorcycle in silence.

Maisa threw herself on the bed. He hasn't had a message from Ken all day. Looks like the guy's chasing the air with his job. Maisa looked at the photo of the two of them when she first stood. His hand rubbed the photo gently.

...****...

The sound of the vehicle horn from the back is understated. From the front a car crashed into a motorcycle. Smoke seemed to be billowing out of the car.

People were swarming around the incident. Kio left his bike on the shoulder of the road. He broke through the crowd in front of him. Blood was seen on the road.

A woman is face down with her head covered in blood. He was silent not moving. No one dared to come closer.

Kio approached the woman. He held her wrist, looking for her pulse. There's no more. His hands are cold. Slowly he turned the woman's body around.

Kio fell down. Her eyes widened. His hands were trembling in the blood.

"She's!" his screams.
