The Horizon Boundaries
Ch.15 I'm sorry!

Kio ruffled his hair, feeling frustrated after being rude to his sister. Added to that incident. How the video could have spread. No one knows about that incident. Even his friends were never told.

But all this time his relationship with Maisa was not that bad. Kio almost never greeted him, always dodging when Maisa tried to stick to him but never once he was rude to her.

Kio accidentally hits Maisa while coming down the stairs. His hand swiftly caught the arm of Maisa who was about to fall. Maisa's eyes met looking at him. The girl then smilingly thanked Kio and passed.

Is Maisa okay. Why can she smile when she has hurt him. Kio squeezed his left chest. It felt like his heart was beating pain. It was strange to see Maisa not greeting him, even usually likes to stick. He should have been happy, but again guilt gnawed at his heart.

During college, Kio was just dumbstruck, no matter the lecturer who was busy teaching in front. Someone nudged his arm making him aghast, aware that he was still in class. Erik gave a paper tear containing a small note to her.

Mr. Salim asked a question. Answer it quickly there!

Die me! What was the question.

Kio turned his head towards the lecturer who was teaching. He felt a cold sweat on his knuckles. Since the course began, Kio had not paid any attention to what was delivered. Salim is still waiting for his answer.

"I'm sorry, sir. I still have a bit of a lack of understanding" Kio said after being silent for quite a while.

"It looks like you didn't listen to what was said earlier. This time I forgive. But there's no next time."

"I'm sorry, sir."

"What do you think is serious?" asked Erik when the courses followed were completed. His voice was not so clear because his mouth was not stopping chewing on fries.

The atmosphere of the canteen is quite quiet. Kio still did not answer. He went back to daydreaming, his eyes straight to see and then people walked into the canteen. Erik snapped his finger right in front of his face. Kio was surprised, opening his eyes a few times.

"Oh... No more thinking, really. Ken where? Why haven't you come yet?" his voice sounds stammering.

Erik took a long breath. "You guys must be fighting again, huh? Ken's got extra work."

"Oh so..."

During the discourses Maisa spent more time at home to help Bi Tari and Pak Mamat clean the house and gardening. When you are free to paint the scenery around, fill in videos on Youtube and Instagram feeds. Sometimes reply DM people who want to buy his painting. He asked Mr. Mamat to send his paintings to the expedition if anyone bought them.

“Boring once at home. If you go out, Papa can be angry, "he said to himself.

Maisa applied a brush to the canvas continuing her almost finished painting. As usual Bi Tari came to bring drinks and a magazine. Saying a word two how good the painting is. Maisa smiled faintly saying thanks. It's nice to have someone who likes his paintings.

Mr. Chandra observed Maisa's behavior from the second-floor window. There was a bit of affection that stopped in his mind but the taste was thrown away.

I can't love that kid.

Seeing the boy was like seeing his wife Arini. Both are like a double cut. Although Mr. Chandra hates him very much but every time he sees his face he is not able to say much. He tried to give up Arini's departure, but still could not. It is hard to let go of the shadow of the past.

Maisa felt watched turning her head to the second floor turning her body, not seeing anyone. Only the windows were half open and the curtains were waving in the wind. His fingers knocked on the table.

The feeling of someone paying attention. Who, huh? It can't be Papa. Ah, at most just my feelings. Come on Maisa's thinking healthy. Basic handyman do it.

Kio finds his little sister reading a book in the gazebo behind the house. Sometimes turning the paper to the next page. Next to his hand was a cup of tea. Beside him was a painting that was almost finished. Old Kio was not far from there. Keep going or not.

He moved his feet closer to Maisa somewhat hesitatingly. The girl looked up at him. The brown beads imply questioningly?

Kio sat in front of him, plucking his tela and chewing slowly. Maisa was still staring at him. What'd he come here for? Usually Kio always hangout with his friends after college. This time, what else to do. Maisa is still waiting. Almost fifteen minutes Kio still did not say anything. Looks like Maisa's the one who has to start the chat.

"What's Kio talking about?"

"Oh.... If you want to relax there is still one more gazebo there."

Maisa pointed at the gazebo a few meters away from her place. The girl still continued reading. He still needs to learn some painting techniques. Kio took the book in his hand, flipping back a few pages.

"Do you like to paint?"

"Huh...? Appreciable?" Maisa tilted her head. Trying to find the direction of Kio's conversation. Next to his eyebrows rose. Judging from the title of the book alone, he was clearly interested in painting. For what is all the talk.

"Sa.... L'm.... Look at...." Kio tried to pull out his teardrops stammeringly. But it was difficult, the words were stuck in the throat.

Maisa looked at Kio who looked confused expressing her feelings. What else is he trying to talk about. The girl could not wait to open her voice.

"Sister.... I won't bother you again if that's what you want. I'll stop meeting your friends. I don't want you to hate me any more and I think spreading that video is enough for me."

His face looked hurt, but he was still trying to smile. Kio's heart stopped. What he did to his sister.

"Sa... I threatened you, but I didn't spread the video. This sounds like self-defense. But it wasn't me."

Maisa's still mute. Still being indifferent, turning the pages of the book she read. Kio took his reading book, put it on the table. Maisa looked back at Kio's eyes. The man looked sorry. He is still trying to apologize. Unknowingly Kio hugged Maisa.

"I know I was wrong. I've hurt you a lot. Excuse me... Excuse me... I'm sorry," she whispered softly, her voice raspy.

Tears streamed down Maisa's cheeks, beginning to cry in Kio's embrace. The defense just collapsed. Hearing Kio's apology his heart was broken. Although upset and hurt, he never hated his brother. Kio tightened his embrace as he muttered an apology repeatedly.

...****...

Maisa compresses her puffy eyes because most cry with a special eye compress. Lying on the front sofa. Beside him was Kio who was silent. His hand rubbed his sister's head.

"I'm not a kid!" maisa broke the silence.

"Hmmm...."

"So it's true it's not Brother. Then who?"

"I don't know."

"Oh.... So can I go see your friend, right, sister?"

"That's a little bit..."

"Well! Not that I was sorry!"

"That has nothing to do with it. It's the same way Ken does."

"What?"

Maisa raised her head to look at her sister. Kio threw out his face, the corners of his lips raised to form a thin smile. Maisa was a little annoyed by her attitude just now. What the fuck. You possessive friend.

"What's this about? What happens as long as I'm not home."

Mr. Chandra found his son asleep on the couch. It's not just Maisa there. There was Kio who also fell asleep beside him.
