On the second day of the match Ken and his team-mates made it to the quarter-finals and eventually made it to the final. The Jain team did not want to lose, they also qualified for the final.
“Finally we are through to the final as well. Tomorrow we will face the University Y team. Looks pretty tough.” Erik said after the basketball game.
Kio clasped his hand to Erik's shoulder. “Casual, Bro. We can definitely beat them.” He said confidently while looking at the opponent.
Maisa was having a conversation with Jain and the others. Sometimes he laughs, joking with them. Kio immediately remembered that Maisa was a transfer student from there. It is only natural that they know each other.
Another case with Ken, his face sour like sour lime. Some more! Maisa showed a relaxed face before them. When she was with him the girl did not show such a face. Mia realized the meaning of Ken's gaze. An idea in his head.
“Yuk... We're approaching them. Yes, you are friendly. They'll fight us tomorrow!” mia said as she pushed Kio towards them.
Kio's face was sullen. Want to not come to Jain's team. Ken came closer. Jain and the others turned to look at their arrival. So is Maisa. Ken looked at Maisa sharply but Maisa only smiled faintly.
“Congratulations you have entered the final.” Kio said to them in pleasantries.
“We also congratulate you. Your match is great.” Evan said with a smile.
Jain stared fixedly at Ken, and vice versa. It was as if there was a spark of electric current flowing in their eyes. Maisa nudged Jain with her shoulder. Jain's nosy thoughts suddenly recurred. He brought himself closer to Maisa, until the shoulders of the two stuck and whispered something.
"Your boyfriend is jealous, no. Asem just ran over his face."
"We're not dating, really."
"Oh my god. Means later dating dong. My little sister is top!"
Jain gave a thumbs up. Maisa stomped her feet in annoyance. Jain growled slowly withstanding the pain in his leg books. Looking at the scene, everyone looked at Ken. Ken clenched his hand until his finger turned white, trying to hold back the fury.
"Maisa, you know them too?"
Mia whispered into Maisa's ear. Maisa just smiled and nodded. Introducing her three best friends to Mia.
“You know, my dear sweetheart is now growing up, yes. So not willing. I hope your love for me won't fade by time”
Jain said rombal casually. His hand held onto both of Maisa's shoulders, pushing her forward in front of Ken. Everyone looked at Maisa with excitement, except for Ken.
Jain pretended to put on an unwilling face. Ken was petrified, like being struck by lightning in broad daylight. Maisa's mouth is open. What kind of drama is this.
Ken pulled Maisa's hand. The girl retreated backwards, hitting Ken's chest. Maisa looked up her head at Ken. Ken hugged her from behind. Staring at Jain as if saying don't bother me. Jain let out a wink at the silly couple holding back the upset before him.
Kio and Erik are shocked to see Ken's possessive attitude and Jain's ignorance. Of all the beautiful women like Alice, Ken dropped his heart on a mediocre girl. Error, precisely the bar-bar girl. Alvin and Evan held back his laughter.
"Suckers! Let's get a fistfight."
Maisa intends to hit Jain, aware that Jain berahilannya. Ken tightened his embrace. Jain was still laughing leaving the clamorous Maisa.
Maisa, please explain everything to me.
Ken whispered into his ear, giving Maisa goosebumps. The girl was nervous, gulping her saliva. Ken looks creepy. Maisa could only cry inwardly.
Just watch out tomorrow. I'll get your head, Brother Jain.
...****...
“Papa hear in your college there's a basketball game, huh?” Ask Mr. Chandra when dinner together.
“Yes that way, Pa! tomorrow's the final game.”
“It looks like tomorrow Papa isn't busy. Papa wants to see your match tomorrow.”
Kio stopped eating. “Really?”
“I have to go to bed early to watch the game tomorrow.” Maisa said as she moved to her room.
The basketball final was crowded with visitors. Many students carried banners containing words of encouragement to support their team to win. Next to the side was Ken's team, who were briefed by his coach and manager. Besides that, there is a Jain team who are also being briefed by their coach. The difference is that there is no manager to accompany.
“Listen... today we have to win.” Kio.
Jain did something similar. The whistle sounded shrill. The match starts soon.
In front of the audience, Mr. Chandra was seen watching with his right hand. Not far from her, it seemed Maisa was sitting quietly watching the course of the match.
Basketball game is very exciting. The first quarter of the Kio team was 44-40 ahead of the Jain team. Kio looked happy to see it. Mr. Chandra smiled. Jain's team just relaxed facing him makes Kio more sultry. The second quarter match was won by the Jain team with 48-41 points over the Kio team.
The game was hotter in the third quarter. Match balanced. Both teams are trying to get points from their opponents. Whistle blown sign of the end of the game. The match was won by the Jain team with 50-49 points.
Kio was disappointed to see the result of the match. Shame on his father who came to watch his defeat. He wanted to make his father proud of him. Chandra sir approached him.
“The match was good. Both sports teams. Papa is proud of you.”
Kio smiled thinly. Although Mr. Chandra praised him, there was not the slightest satisfaction in him. Jain and the others came over.
“Congratulations! The match was great. You guys are tough opponents for us.”
“We also congratulate you. You guys are really great.” Ken represents the team.
Both of them grinned, shaking hands. Grasping hands tightly. The two grimaced in pain, shaking their reddened hands.
"God! How close you are to him. If Maisa was told to choose, she would definitely choose me." Jain held Ken's shoulder and spoke softly to him.
"What doyou mean. She's mine." Ken replied in a cold tone.
Jain chuckled softly, looking at Maisa who was still sitting on the bleachers. He waved at her. The girl waved back at Jain and his friend, giving a finger heart signal. They returned a gesture of love using both hands.
"See!" Jain grinned towards Ken.
Kio gaped at their mischief. Even so, Jain looks very fond of Maisa, radiated from the glare of her eyes and her genuine smile. Ken hurriedly approached Maisa, dragging her out of the field. Jain moved his hand gesturing to leave with Ken.
Ken pressed her against the wall, locking Maisa with both hands. Maisa's heart rumbled. Ken looked at her. There are a lot of emotions there.
"So.... Tell me. What exactly is your relationship with Jain?"
"I didn't tell you yesterday. My relationship with Jain's sister is limited to childhood friends."
"Well! I thought I believed it?"
Maisa looked at him questioningly. There was no lie from what he said. His relationship with Jain was really limited to his older brother. Jain himself already has a heart patch that he loves very much. And Ken still doesn't believe it.
"Sister Ken doesn't trust me? Brother Jain is like my own brother." Maisa put up wahah sad.
Ken took off both hands. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to force you. I'm just upset you're more familiar with him. When you're with me you're never like that. I like you so much."
Maisa digested every word that came out of the man's lips. His eyes wide. Something pleasant lay in his heart, feeling warm, making him flutter. Maisa touched his arm, staring fixedly at Ken's eyes. Looking for seriousness there. Ken smiled sincerely.
"I like you too, Brother." Maisa said softly with her face down, flushed like a ripe tomato.
"Will you be my girlfriend then?"
Maisa nodded. Ken breathed a sigh of relief. He held the girl in his arms. All his anxiety disappeared in an instant. His heart was filled with happiness. He tightened his embrace. Enjoying every heartbeat and also Maisa's pounding.
