The Horizon Boundaries

The Horizon Boundaries
Ch.57 Negotiation

Mr. Chandra was sitting in his study, checking a stack of documents on the table. Glasses were stuck in his nose. Someone knocked on the door.

"Lake in!" he screamed without distracting her.

A beautiful woman wearing a black knee-length skirt and a short-sleeved white shirt came in carrying a stack of documents. He put the document on the table.

"This is some paperwork that needs to be checked, sir. Oh yeah, there's information from Aery Corp. They're delaying investment for the project at Sunter."

Mr. Chandra stopped his writing activities. His secretary can't lie. Suddenly his head pulsated.

Aery Corp has partnered with Beurata, its own company. He remembered the words of Kio. There's no way an Aery Corp CEO is so sentimental just a matter of the girl.

"Call Aron now. Ask him to bring you the project file. Please make an appointment with Aery Corp. I'm going to see Brian."

"Good, sir." The female secretary went outside.

Shortly after, a thirty-year-old man entered the room. A chocolate map in his hand. "You're calling me, sir?"

Mr. Chandra received the file and read it. "We're going to Aery Corp."

"Good, sir."

A man named Aron bent his body. He walked to his boss.

The car Chandra was driving stopped at a skyscraper. Aron opened the door for her. Mr. Chandra's headed for the receptionist. A beautiful woman greeted him.

"I want to meet Brian."

The receptionist called someone. "Sir Brian is in his room on the 12th floor, sir."

The female secretary greeted him and opened the door. Mr. Brian was sitting in his chair flipping through the files. He then stood up as soon as he saw Mr. Chandra, please sit on the sofa.

"I didn't expect Mr. Chandra to come here immediately."

"This is related to the development project of the shopping center in Sunter. No problems in its construction. I'd like to ask you why Mr. Brian is delaying his investment. We have worked together for a long time."

"Hm... Sorry, Mister. This time it seems to have to be postponed. Because this is my youngest child's request, which I might reject" said Brian.

The day before Ken met his father at the office. Brian was shocked by his arrival. Even more surprising was the boy's request. Just like Miki, his older brother, Ken was also not interested in being part of the company. The only reason to make the boy change his mind was just the girl.

"Maisa's gone from home. Can I ask someone to track her whereabouts?"

"Why did the girl leave the house?"

"Maybe because I hugged her in front of her dad."

Brian chuckled at it. He remembered how possessive Ken was to the girl. During the event some time ago, Ken kept sticking to her until the event was over.

But there was no way that girl would leave the house just because of such a problem. There must be something bigger, like a bad family relationship. Given Mr. Chandra's treatment is so different between his son and the girl.

"alright. But on one condition. You must join the company. I have no one to rely on but you. Miki doesn't want to work here, instead chooses to be a lecturer."

"okay."

Mr. Chandra was surprised to hear that reason. Ironically, he did not think Maisa had such an influence on this family. What is so special about the boy in their eyes.

Mr. Brian still remained unchanged, making it home empty-handed. Along the way he thought where this mistake had begun. Everything gathered at one point. Maisa's Existence.

...****...

"What's? You're out of the house?"

Mia shouted loudly. Maisa keeps her phone away from her ears. The girl wanted to ask him for help organizing the house. The house is still empty, there is only a kitchen set. He couldn't have asked Ken for help.

"Look easy, Mi. I just want to live independently."

"okay! When's? Kio's brother didn't come?"

Maisa checks out of the hotel, transporting her suitcase to a new house assisted by Ken. Mia got there first. The girl watched the two get out of the car. Ken was so considerate of helping his lover.

At first Mia is shocked to hear Maisa leaving the house. The girl did not tell me why. Mia also did not want to ask further to keep her best friend's feelings.

Some people in and out of the house deliver meubellair equipment and household appliances. Maisa arranged some books on her room shelf. Mia was busy arranging the kitchen equipment. Ken oversees the decorating work.

Almost noon just finished arranging the interior of the house and furniture in it. The three sat leaning against the sofa exhausted. Maisa picks up her phone, opens an online food messaging app.

"I'd like to order some food at the catchfood. What are you going to eat?"

"Oh I want chicken wing barbecue sauce, drink avocado smootie," replied Mia.

"If Ken's brother?"

"Salted egg chicken and ice americano."

Maisa ordered the food mentioned. The girl smiled to herself typing an order. Ken who was sitting next to her leaned his chin on the girl's shoulder. He wanted to know what made him happy.

"Woi, Sis. Please, yeah. I'm still here, you see" exclaimed Mia as the man wanted to hug the friendly Maisa.

Ken squealed, shifting his sitting position slightly away. Maisa laughs amusedly.

For the first time Maisa was alone in the house. There's only crickets in the yard. Sometimes the sound of vehicles passing by. The silence felt. He always had a fuss with Kio.

Ken is constantly sending messages. Kio also sent a message asking him to return home. Maisa smiled miris. No news from his father. Even though only the greeting had made him happy.

"Don't stay up, yeah. I'll see you tomorrow. I'm head over heels for you.

Ken smiled sending a message to Maisa. A reply from the girl shortly.

I love you more.

Ken covered his reddened face. He was unceasingly smiling. How could that girl be so sweet.

Mr. Chandra sat in front of him just silently watching him. Ken confirmed his sitting position. Put his calm attitude back.

Both of them sat in a simple restaurant that was not so crowded. Mr. Chandra called him on his way home under the pretext of something to talk about.

"So what do you want to talk about?"

"I heard you're also going to join the company."

"Is this related to Maisa?"

Mr. Chandra's face changed. He seemed to be thinking something. "Is he okay?"

Huh! Ken doesn't think about Chandra's attitude. Pretend worry. What this guy wants from him.

"Why did Om ask me? You can ask Maisa directly. Do I need to call?"

"No! No need to."

"If there's nothing to talk about, I'll go home, Om."

Mr. Chandra held his arm. Ken went back to his chair.

"I just want to ask for help because we're friends of Kio so that the invertation at Sunter should not be delayed. Our company is in trouble."

Ken laughed in his heart. Cliche reasons. Because friends said. Hypocritical basis. All this time he always respected Mr. Chandra with his firm and authoritative attitude. But all that was lost without a trace when he saw his treatment of Maisa.

"Sorry, Om. I can't help. You have to solve the problem yourself."

This time Ken really left Chandra sir alone. Suddenly he missed the girl. What is Maisa doing now?
