Mr. Chandra throws a magazine in front of Maisa. Her face is scary. Maisa took the magazine, read it for a moment. Ah.. turns out the contents of the scandal about her being the third person in the relationship Ken and Alice. There was even a photo of the two of them kissing in the cafe.
He knew the cafe. His lips smiled bitterly. The two have a deeper relationship than they seem. His hand put the magazine to the table in front of him, looking back at his father. His shoulders went up and down holding onto the anger that was ready to explode.
"What is this, huh? Didn't you promise not to cause trouble? Do I look like I'm messing around?" Mr. Chandra shouted towards him. His hand was breaking the table.
Maisa was beaming, her legs a step backwards. His heart is racing. He held his slightly trembling hand.
"I'll give you one more semester. After that, go back to Jogja. I'm sorry, you better not be born."
Like there was a heavy object pressing down on him. His heart was torn to shreds by his father's last words. His face shriveled to hide his wound.
"Let me stay here, Pa. Don't send me back to Jogja. I beg!" The girl's voice was shaking.
Mr. Chandra looked at his daughter in an indifferent manner. There is no compassion or sympathy. I don't know what got into him, he's not sick of seeing his daughter's face.
"No. I need you to get out of Papa's study. There are many important tasks that I have to work on.”
Maisa came out of her father's room. His face was white, deathly pale. The way is slow, his eyes are empty. Not long after, the middle-aged man came out carrying his bag. The door was closed so loud that it made a thud.
Kio sat in the living room, reading the news. His face had an expression that was difficult to decipher. He looked towards the girl who was passing by.
"Hey! I heard you're going back to Jogja at the end of next semester."
Maisa stopped her steps, looking at Kio fixedly. "Yes. You must be happy, right, Ka?"
"Hey!"
"Hey? I have a name, brother. Congrats! I'll disappear from your life and won't bother you anymore."
"I don't think that."
"A....rgh!"
Maisa screamed loudly. Both of his hands covered his ears. His breathing was wheezing after screaming a few times. He tried to keep his sanity. Kio was shocked.
"I'm not that stupid, Ka."
Maisa stepped foot into her room. Close the door hard. He sat on the floor hugging both of his legs. His back touched the bed. A small river drained on his cheeks. A soft sound filled the room. He did not bother Kio who knocked on the door, calling out his name.
His chest was tight, his heart was very sick. All bitter, bitter, disappointed, angry taste mixed. He allowed himself to cry. What to do. All of them could not redeem his father's forgiveness. His presence made his father regret. What was he born for? Should he hurt his body or end his life?
Maisa held her head, expelling her bad thoughts. He has six months left here. There's still a lot to do. Although all was meaningless in his father's eyes.
Kio was stunned by the incident just now. He didn't mean to say that. Maisa never screamed either. His sister always acts sweet, though sometimes annoying.
He approached Maisa's room. Knocked on the girl's door. "Sa.... Unlock door. I didn't mean to talk like that."
His ears faintly heard the sound of a prank. His heart was like a crumple. He leaned his back against the door of his sister's room. Undeniably, he used to hate it too. Yes, although now there is still a store of dislike. But he doesn't hate her.
There was no sound of crying from inside the room. Silent. Kio pressed the doorknob, the door was unlocked. He opened it slowly. Maisa slept curled up on the floor, her head resting on her hands. His eyes looked so bright after crying. His eyebrows cringed.
Ken slammed the magazine he had just read. Just be right. Alice acted further than she expected. It seems to have hurt Maisa's heart. He promised not to hurt her. He growled in annoyance. What kind of man is this.
“Do not interfere in my personal affairs.” Ken said in a cold tone as Erik called him.
Erik suggests breaking up with Maisa for a while until things subside. Ken laughed at her.
"Why don't you just be Alice's boyfriend. I don't want to break up with Maisa."
Ken turned off Erik's phone. He called his girl. Call denied. He tried again. The girl's phone was switched off. Ken tried to send a message. Just tick one.
Ken walked back and forth in his room. An uneasiness enveloped his heart. Worrying about Maisa. Hope the girl's condition is okay. He tries to contact Kio but is not picked up.
Ken took the keys to the bike. He decides to go to Maisa's house. He did not have time to pay attention to his appearance, only wearing a t-shirt, jeans and flip-flops.
His heart thumped as his finger pressed against the bell. Kio opened the door. His eyes looked at Ken who looked messy.
"Where's Maisa?"
"There's in his room. He's sleeping."
"Is he okay."
Of course he's not okay.
Kio smiled telling him to come in. Ken bursts in, intending to meet his lover. Kio's hand held him.
"Wait for Maisa to wake up. No rush either, right?"
Ken sat on the living room couch. His feet move restlessly. His head turned to the stairs. Kio just kept quiet watching his friend.
Fifteen minutes later, Ken slid his back on the couch. Ten minutes later, sit back. Twenty minutes later he fell asleep.
The hour hand ticked until three hours passed. Kio disappeared somewhere leaving Ken asleep alone. Someone touched her hand, patting her cheek slowly.
Ken opened his eyes, there was a faint Maisa before him. He pulled the girl's hand, clutched in his arms. Gently kissed the girl's forehead and top of the head.
"Ka Ken's. Let's get up."
Maisa tried to escape. Ken even tightened his embrace. He didn't want the girl to stay away. The two exchanged looks. Ken saw the girl's eyes. His fingers rubbed his eyes softly.
"Sorry, Sa. I made you cry. But I have nothing to do with Alice. Yesterday he invited a meeting but I didn't expect it to be like this."
"But you guys kissed. I don't like Ka Ken being close to her."
"I didn't kiss her, Sa. The photo is fake. Trust me. You're in my heart."
Ken kissed the girl's eyes and nose. Maisa hid her face into Ken's chest. His ears heard the man's heart pounding. Musk's scent approached the sense of smell, making him feel calm.
Ken's sturdy arms hugged him tightly as if protecting him. Maisa looked up, kissing the cheek of the man. He then hid his face again in Ken's chest. Ken's eyes widened, not expecting to get a kiss back from him.
