The Horizon Boundaries

The Horizon Boundaries
Ch.28 Still Has a Chance

I can't be jealous.

Mia held back her state as she watched Maisa embrace Kio's arm tightly. The two looked at him for a moment, then smiled. He himself invited her to take pictures with Kio after catwalk fashion show area, but by itself his feelings hurt. Mia took a picture while crying in her heart. Looking at the results of his shots, Kio and Maisa really looked like a matchmaker.

It seems true said Brother Erik. They were dating. And still look like each other. It seems my love is clapping one hand.

Mia seems to be getting misunderstood. He handed the phone to Maisa. The girl pranced happily, while Kio glared at her.

"Me and Maisa are closer than you think, Ken."

Mia overhears their conversation while searching for Maisa, about to take her for a walk to the food stand at a cultural festival. He shut his mouth, hid in the corner of the building.

Kio came embracing Maisa's waist, smiling towards the girl. His hands tidied up the messy short bangs then stroked his cheeks.

Mia could not hear the next conversation. He chose to stay away, sitting on a bench near the mango tree. Not far from the exhibition stand. His head looked back, closing his eyes. Trying to clear his mind that drifted somewhere.

Don't misunderstand Maisa. He didn't mean anything bad. Their relationship is not like your imagination.

Something cold touched his cheek. She opened her eyes, seeing Kio's face so close to hers. A can of cold cola stuck to his cheek. He held his breath and hurried to get up. His head hit the man's forehead. Both grimaced in pain holding their heads. The incident just now wasn't good for his heart.

"Sorry, Brother."

Mia touched Kio's reddened forehead, worried about getting hurt. The face is very important for a model. All the expressions the girl showed made Kio feel troubled.

"Now!"

Kio thrust a can of cola right in front of his face. Mia took it, her cheeks blushing red. Pleased but also astonished, not knowing the way of the man's mind.

"This for me? Thank you, Brother."

Kio passed by while waving his hand. Mia stuck a can of cola onto her cheek. Enjoying the sensation of coldness reaching his skin.

Kio noticed the girl smiling back from a distance. His hands ruffled his hair. I don't understand what has entered his heart. When he saw the girl looking sad, he was moved to comfort her.

"Ah... Nevermind! What the hell am I doing?"

...****...

Mia's hand shook while watching the video she got from her friend one major. This is how many times he watched the video. His feelings were mixed between fear and horror. When she called Maisa's answer upset her. But he was really worried about her.

"Mia, right? Can I ask you a favor?" Ken ran a little closer to him who was dribbling a basketball.

"What do you ask for, brother?" Mia hugged the basketball to her slender waist.

Ken looks doubtful, "I can ask for Maisa's phone number. I'm confused where to call because I don't have the number.

Mia's laughter exploded. How can there be a man who wants to approach a woman he likes even forget to ask for her phone number. Ken's face looks red. Just this time he saw Ken's side differently than usual. Always cold, rarely smiling.

"okay, Sis. It's his number." Mia can't tease Ken anymore. He gave his best friend's phone number to him.

"Thank you, yeah. I'll treat you later, deh." Ken said as he passed.

"No need, Brother. Just matchlangin I'm the same as Kio." Mia exclaimed bluntly without shady aling-aling.

Ken's steps stopped. "Do you like Kio?"

Mia nodded shyly. Ken again approached Maisa, isn't this a turning chance for him.

"alright. I'll do as I can." Ken smiled, leaving him alone.

Mia sat in the field. The ball he was holding rolled into the corner of the field. His feet were like there was no energy. He actually said it directly to Ken, Kio's close friend. It seems like he's crazy.

"What are you doing here." A familiar voice came to his ears.

Mia looked up to the source of the voice. Kio was standing in front of him in a basketball uniform. Behind him was Erik and several other members of the basketball team. He looked so handsome in his eyes with that outfit. His arms looked sturdy, his body looked even more gallant. Mia gulped, getting rid of her dirty thoughts.

The girl still stared at him. Kio crouched down, flicking his forehead to resuscitate the girl from her daydream. I don't know what's in this little head.

Akhs! Please give it a pause to breathe. I could have a heart attack.

"Anu... Played basketball for a while." Mia rubbed her frowning forehead, rushing to her feet. His thumb pointed at the basketball in the corner of the court.

" I saw Ken this way. Where's she?" Erik picked up the basketball, turned it around at his fingertips.

Erik lifted them both up. "Ah... The video is yes. Well, that's the craziest thing I've ever seen. Where any normal girl acts like that."

"Rik!" Exclaimed Kio, his head moved towards Mia who put on an angry face.

Erik clenched his mouth, moving away from the girl before he poured out his anger.

"Stop putting on a face like that." Kio threw out his face.

Whahuh? What kind of face do I put on?

"Sorry, Brother. But I thought of Maisa. She must be crying now."

It seemed like he had been standing in the middle of the field for too long. Mia immediately stepped aside, giving the other room to play basketball. Mia noticed the change in Kio's face from a distance. I don't know why he looks so guilty.

What are you doing with Maisa, sister?

...****...

Mia opened the sheet mask from her wrapper, putting it on her face. A twelve-year-old boy barged into his room.

"So, let's go to Ancol."

Mia woke up from her sleep, her mask falling into her lap. His eyes glared at the boy who was interrupting his time off. He threw a pillow at his sister.

"Woi boy! Just interrupt it."

But inevitably Mia left too. The boy whined, following him wherever he went. When in seaworld he immediately saw a familiar figure. His hand dragged the boy to follow him. He closed his mouth, surprised to recognize the figure.

In the morning, Mia ran over to Maisa who was sitting reading a book in the corridor.

"Sa!" Exclaims.

“Maisa,” exclaims someone calling his name.

Maisa who was reading a book in the corridor stopped her activity and turned her head towards Mia.

“Tumben nongol here.” says Maisa soft.

Mia turned left to right. He pulled Maisa's hand, looking for a deserted place, entering the stairs. The beautiful girl sat down on the stairs. Maisa looked at her friend sitting next to her with a astonished face.

Mia's face looked very happy. Smiling themselves. Maisa realizes it must have something to do with Kio. It seems like the relationship between the two is going well.

"Maisa, are you dating Ken?"

"Gee!" A question far from his prediction.

"Yesterday I accidentally involved you in Ancol pas ngantar my sister play. So...."

Mia asked for an explanation. Maisa felt awkward. His eyes moved here and there. He hoped that no one would know.

"We just walk together, really." he said slowly.

"Oh... Maisa also likes Ken Dong. He seems to like you. Yesterday I followed you guys." His face smiled as if the detective had solved the problem.

Maisa looked at the ceiling. His gaze glared for a moment. His relationship with Ken is a friend. Every time he saw it, his heart beat unruffled, his attitude sometimes became clumsy. Sometimes I dare not look him in the eye. That includes the feeling of liking. Her heart was glad to hear that Ken liked her. But he was good enough for her.

Maisa turned towards Mia and smiled. "Maybe. Right now I'm still friends with Ken's brother, really."

Mia breathes a sigh of relief. “Thank God. Then there's still a chance."

"What opportunity?"

"There is!"

"Don't joke. What's up?"

Mia did not answer the question. Maisa scratched the waist of the girl. Mia laughed away.

"There anyway. Secrets," he said with laughter.
