The Horizon Boundaries
Ch.29 Don't Get Injured

Maisa feels awkward one room with Mr. Chandra. The two sit opposite. Only the sound of television was heard. He cradled the potato chip setoples. His cheeks are moving with chips. His eyes occasionally glanced towards his father. The aired soap opera none of which attracted his interest.

Ughhh.... Kio why not go home, anyway.

Mr. Chandra was busy with a thick book and some papers on the table. On his nose were reading glasses. His hands occasionally turned the pages of books.

Maisa has a chin with her left hand. Paying attention to the look on his father's face. Her hair looks one or two bleached. There was a slight frown on his face but it did not reduce his good looks.

"What do you want this time?" Said Mr. Chandra.

His chin slipped from his palm. His eyes sparkled with pleasure. He clenched both of his palms.

"Then how about three dinners at the restaurant tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow busy."

"The day after?"

"The day is busy too."

Maisa pursed her lips, lowered her hand, listless. He was happy with his father's offer. It turns out it's just a stale base. Want to not swallow the disappointment pill.

There were footsteps entering the family room. Maisa turned to the origin of the sound source. Kio just came from the shoot. He opened the refrigerator, took a bottle of water and downed it.

Kio approached Mr. Chandra, sitting next to him. Stretched his hands to the sofa. Glanced at his father who was still busy with sheets of paper before him.

"Pa. How about we have dinner outside tomorrow. It's been a long time since dinner."

"Can. Where do you want to eat?"

"How about to Resto Bang Jack. There's a new menu there."

"Hm... Okay. Tomorrow at seven."

Maisa heard all those conversations. His heart is in pain. He gripped his left arm tightly until it hurt. Biting her lower lip, refraining from crying.

Maisa hurried to stand up. His hand accidentally nudged the jar of chips until it fell thumping on the floor. His hand grabbed the jar, put it on the table a little rough, causing a soft bang. Attract the attention of the two people in the room.

"Pa! Sis! I go upstairs."

Without waiting for the answer of the two, he hurriedly climbed to the top. The two men looked at each other.

"Why that kid?" Kio mutters.

"Leave it." Mr. Chandra doesn't care.

Maisa slowly closed the door of her room, behind her. Tilting his back, sitting up. He breathed deep air. Closed his eyes. A drop of water fell on the corner of his eye. He shivered his lips, restraining all the turmoil of his feelings.

The girl wiped away the tears that formed the river saplings on her cheeks. He stepped onto the balcony, sitting on his back in a rattan chair. Letting the wind of the night blow away his sorrow.

The sound of a cell phone ringing from behind his pocket. Ken's name appeared there. He took a deep breath, adjusting the sound so as not to sound raucous.

"Hello, Brother."

"Sa, look down."

Maisa heard a reply from across the street. He looked down. Ken waved his right hand, while his left hand stuck the phone to his ear. His mouth curled into a smile.

"I think I came at the right time. Come on out with me. I miss you."

The low-pitched baritone voice made him feel calm. It seems Ken knows he is sad. He went back out of the room, went downstairs.

Mr. Chandra greeted Ken with a hardened facial expression. His eyes glittered, his jaw clenched. Kio's face looked sour. Ken felt the dislike of both of them.

"Why did you come here this night?" Mr. Chandra said. His voice was cold.

Ken saw his watch. It's only seven o'clock. He smiled at both. "I want to take Maisa dinner outside."

"What?" Kio replied in a high tone, glaring at him.

Ken laughed sarcastically. I don't know why the attitude of these two people is so nauseating. He refrained from keeping Maisa's feelings in check.

"Come on. Can't take my own girlfriend out? You can come too."

Kio could not comment. Of course he does not want to be the mosquito repellent of dating people. Just thinking about it makes it ticklish itself.

"Take him back before ten." Mr. Chandra went inside. He runs into Maisa, just silent.

"Pa, I'm out for a second." Maisa said in a soft tone.

Mr. Chandra did not reply. It just passed. Kio grumbled leaving both of them. Ken grabs the girl's hand, leads her to the car parked in front of the fence.

"It's quiet. Come in!"

Ken opened the front door, moved his head towards the chair, telling him to come in. Maisa got in the car. He closed the door, rushed into the steering wheel.

Maisa's hand intended to reach for the seat belt, but lost quickly with Ken. The man next to him grabbed his seat belt and put it on the hook. He held his breath.

Ken summarized his cheeks, sticking his forehead on the girl's forehead. The noses of the two meet. His thumb stroked his cheek gently.

"Sa. Don't hurt yourself. I'm right here, by your side. I don't know what the problem is with your family. I hope you can share the wounds with me." Ken said it lovingly. Her tone of voice sincerely felt warm in the ears.

Maisa nodded slowly, answering yes almost inaudibly. He was eager to hear those words from his family, but it came out of Ken's lips. Flow's wrinkled. The girl smiled bitterly.

He invited her to a movie. Another horror movie that was filmed. Maisa refrained from showing her fear. His hand gripped the end of the chair. Ken grabbed his hand, slipped his finger between the girl's fingers, grasped it tightly.

Maisa glanced at Ken. The man turned his head towards her chin-backed, curling the corners of his lips forming a smile. Maisa turned her gaze to the film ahead.

A ghost had a face full of wounds clad in a shabby yellowish white cloth. Head tilted ninety degrees. Hair tangles. Blackened eyeball. Spiky fingers crawled down the wall approaching a woman peering into the corridors of an uninhabited hotel. The woman looked over and felt that someone was watching, but there was no one there. When he turned to the corridor, the ghostly face appeared right in front of him.

Maisa screamed in fear, tightening her grip. Out of the movie, he pursed his lips. Ken chuckled softly seeing his kekaskh pouting. It seems he had forgotten what happened before.

Ken took his hand, invited him to eat at the Sundanese cuisine restaurant. He ordered a portion of soto bandung, while Maisa chose karedok.

"Sister Ken. Don't watch horror movies anymore. I can't sleep later."

"You want to sing a song later."

"don't want. I'm not a kid."

"Yes! Aye!" Ken laughed, pinching the girl's nose.

No more conversations during dinner. After dinner, Ken drives Maisa home. He stopped his car in front of the fence.

“Thank you, Brother Ken. Already want to watch movies and dinner.”

“Other times I look for movies other than horror. I like horror though. True you don't like horror.”

“Not really, anyway. I like any movie. But if a certain scene I was surprised.”

“How about this one!”

Ken pulled Maisa's waist and kissed her soft lips. The girl was petrified, her eyes widened. A moment of awakening from his stupor. His eyes blinked a few times. His brain froze, trying to digest what just happened.

Ken just smiled at her. "See you tomorrow."

Ken drove his car. Maisa shut her mouth. Realize what just happened. The girl ran to her room and closed the door. His body turned back to the door. He shook his head.

This is impossible. It's just a dream.

Maisa slapped her cheek slowly. His fingers touched his lips. It was still in his mind, when Ken's lips touched his.

The clock almost showed midnight. Maisa lay agitated unable to sleep. His hands hugged the bolts. His mind flew. He rolled over here and there.

On campus he walks while listening to music. Nothing bothers him. He got a new nickname, crazy woman, because of bulldozing people who want to oppress him.

Ken stood in his way. Maisa took off the earphones in her ear. He looked up at Ken's warm smiling face. His smile makes anyone drunk. He felt it was not good for his heart health.

“What's your sleep good last night?”

“Of course. Why?”

Maisa answered him a little lying. He returned his smile. His eyes glanced around him.

Ken furrowed his brows. His pupils are enlarged. “Nothing. I just hope you remember what happened last night.”

Maisa smothers Ken's mouth before he rambles at length. Take him to the roof of the building. Some students were whispering towards them. Maisa glared sharply, giving a warning not to disturb him.

“Do not do that again, Brother.” Maisa said in a soft tone.

“Why? Isn't it natural for a courtship person to do that?"

“But I'm not comfortable if you speak bluntly in front of a lot of people."

"Hm.... So if it's just the two of you, can you?" Ken smiled at the girl in front of him.

"It's not so, brother." Maisa ruffled her short hair. Her cheeks turned pink, between blushing and embarrassment.

Ken patted his head gently. "Yes! Aye! I'm just kidding."
