Maisa is in a hurry. His eyes caught a familiar figure. His feet ran past the students who were sitting in groups along the corridor.
The man turned towards building B, the administrative department. Maisa grabbed the man's shoulder. He looked up, a little surprised to see the girl.
The look on Maisa's face was happy, I immediately hugged her. It was unexpected that his childhood best friend was in front of him right now. "real Evan. How come you don't want to come here."
Evan returned his embrace. He smiled thinly. A little sadness was emanated. "Sorry, yeah. I want to surprise you. But it seems to have failed.
The tail of the male's eyes saw Ken and Kio walking towards him. Both look sour. Embossed the idea of prank pranks on this little friend.
"Sa, how about your boyfriend sees you. He must have misunderstood."
Ken frowned. His eyes stared hard at Evan. He doesn't like girls being hugged by other guys. Maisa still doesn't know that Ken and Kio are standing behind her.
"Ken won't be mad because he knows you're my friend."
"Hm... Your very own ceremony, Sa. Or maybe you just thought of him as a friend?"
Maisa let go of her embrace. "I'm talking about that, anyway. It's obvious that I like it, nothing more than love."
His voice turned stammering. His face was burning when he said the word love. Argha! He screamed in his heart. It's embarrassing to say that to someone else.
Evan chuckled at the girl's misbehavior. Ken at the back covered half of his reddened face with the back of his hand. Suddenly his heart was beating fast.
"What about Kio?" Evan continues his prank.
Maisa ruffled her back hair. "Eitherway! I'm not close to him. Sometimes his attitude sucks. I'm confused who's sister, anyway."
Laughter gushed from Evan's mouth. Kio's face grew sour. Some passersby noticed them. The girl's mouth was slightly gaping as she saw Evan laughing loosely. He turned around, faced with two men. One looked at him annoyed. The other one seemed to want to drag him away.
Damnit damnit! Maisa cursed in heart. He glared at Evan.
"How dare you vilify behind my back!" kio spray.
Maisa took a few steps back, hiding behind Evan's back.
"But that's a fact" said the girl slowly.
"Hey! Here you are!" kio approached him.
Maisa is running away. Kio chased after him. Ken approached Evan who shook his head with their childish behavior.
"How are you? What brings you to this college?" greet Ken to him.
"Well, I'm going to college here."
Ken stepped into Building B. A look of sadness was clearly visible on Evan's face.
"Does Maisa know why you moved here?"
Evan laughed a little. "I haven't told him yet. But I think he can guess why I'm here."
"Is it because her friend is with Lucy?"
Evan stopped his steps. He nodded slowly. "It turns out he told you. Looks like he already trusted you. Maisa's feelings don't play games with you. As his friend I think I can calm down now."
He walked away leaving Ken to pick. He forgot to say until he met her again. A smile spread across Ken's face. He quickens his steps to find Maisa.
Maisa ran along the corridor. He almost hit people a few times. Kio was still chasing after him from behind. He must find Mia to stop his sister.
Just not far ahead, Mia and her two friends walked towards her. He seems to be joking with them.
"Mia, help me!" he exclaimed with breath. He hid behind the girl.
Kio walked to the left, Mia to the right. Kio walked to the right, Mia walked to the left. The two face each other.
"Can stay away for a minute. I have to teach him a lesson" Kio told the girl.
Mia tilted her head. "If I don't want to?"
"That'S....!" Kio did not continue his words. His eyes glared towards Maisa. The girl stuck out her tongue scoffing.
"You!" Show it to Maisa.
Mia blocked his view. The corner of his lips curved up forming a wide smile. He gave her a handkerchief. "How about we eat both?"
Kio could not refuse the girl. Mia gave an okay gesture with her finger. Maisa smiled waving her hand.
"What's your relationship with Kio?" Two women were looking for him with questions.
Maisa pulled her back, hitting something hard. A pair of hands hugged his neck from behind. The girl looked up. Apparently Ken. The man smiled at her.
The two women were gaping to see a Korean drama-style scene in front of them. Ken turned Maisa's body around and took her away.
"Oh. I think Ken's sister is with Evan."
"What can I do. Someone said they loved me."
Maisa immediately threw away her face, hiding a red hue. Ken clasped the girl's hand tightly and kissed her fingers.
Maisa no longer knows what her face looks like. Some passers-by whistled with their affection. Ken pulled the girl into a corner of the silent building.
He pulled the girl by the neck and kissed her lips gently. Maisa draped her hand, returning her kiss.
Both foreheads stumbled. Ken gently grasped both of the girl's cheeks. His thumb gently rubbed his lips.
"I love you, Sa" she whispered softly lovingly.
The girl's hand was stretched out touching her cheek. Ken touched his hand gently. Pecking the surface of his palm. Maisa smiling.
"I love you more."
...****...
In the evening Maisa came to S hospital. He gets the info from Ken, where Lucy was treated. His feet slowly stepped down the hospital corridor, into the ICU room. His hand held a piece of paper of that room number.
Room board number 230. According to the notes he brought. Slowly he opened the room. Maisa took a deep breath. He hadn't seen Lucy in a long time.
A long haired beautiful girl was still asleep in her long sleep. In his hand was an infusion hose. An oxygen hose valve covered his nose. On his chest and middle finger was attached to a heart rate monitor. There was the sound of beb from the life support tool.
Her tears slowly fell on her cheeks. Lucy's body looks skinny. He wiped his tears. His hands trembled carefully touching Lucy. It was as if the girl would be crushed if she just touched it harder.
"Hey princess sleeping. We haven't met for a long time. Do you know, Jain and Kiki left first from you. Let's wake. You've been asleep a long time. I don't want you to leave either." Maisa's her own monologue.
There was a sound coming from the door. Evan came with a bunch of red roses. His eyes were surprised to find the girl there. Maisa smiled at him.
"I heard from Ken, you moved here" said Maisa standing on the roof guardrail of the hospital. He looked down. Pay attention to the flickering lights of incoming vehicles carrying patients. Several people passed by below with their respective busyness.
Evan smiled bitterly. "I came straight here when I heard Lucy was brought home from Singapore. They still haven't forgiven me, but I'm not just gonna give up on Lucy."
"Hm.... I've always supported you, Van. Whatever happens," Maisa replied with her sincere smile.
Evan laughed softly. "You are too good as always."
Both stand side by side. Silence with each other's thoughts. The night breeze and flickering flickering lights from the building le claw the sky accompanied their night.
