The Horizon Boundaries

The Horizon Boundaries
Ch.35 Beach

Ken took Maisa to Anyer Beach. A stretch of white sand that is tempting to track. The waves roll quietly. Beautiful scenery suitable to throw tired deep into the ocean.

Maisa got off the bike. A smile spread across his face when he saw the beach. He ran small towards the waves that came to break the beach.

Ken smiled watching Maisa's behavior. His feet moved the girl's steps. "You like it."

Maisa nodded, her lips smiling widely. “I haven't been to the beach in a long time. I used to go to Parangtritis with my friends."

“Oh yes? Then I'll show you something.”

Ken pulled Maisa's wrist, led her behind a pile of rocks not far from the crowd.

“Waah! Very good," said Maisa fascinated. He ran to the beach, playing in the water. Ken sat on the rock, smiling to see the look on Maisa's cheerful face. He secretly photographed the girl.

“Ken, come here. Just shut up there!” Maisa Seru. He approached Ken and pulled his hand. Ken did not flinch, Maisa still tugged at his hand.

He sang his bibis. His hand once again pulled Ken's wrist. The man smiled, suddenly standing up. Maisa slumped backwards. His hand spontaneously pulled Ken's collar.

Maisa closed her eyes. His back touched the cold sand of the beach with Ken's body piercing it. Slowly he opened his eyes. The man's face was very close. The corners of his lips curved into a smile. He took a breath and held it.

Maisa tilted her head. Both of his hands pushed Ken aside. Hmm.. keep not flinching. Ken even chuckled softly at the girl's confusion.

"Ka Ken's. Can slide to the side. Big brother knows."

"Masa, the hell." Ken is whispering into Maisa's ear.

The feathers bristled. Ken's breathing hit his neck and ears. It's not good for his heart health. Maisa pushed him once again. This time he looked at Ken's face. His forehead was wrinkled, putting on a face of sand.

"I want to step aside but give you a gift first."

Ken's finger pointed at his cheek. Maisa's eyes blinked a few times. Ken put on a big smile. The two exchanged looks for a moment. Maisa surrender. He kissed Ken's cheek.

Ken stood up and laughed. He put his hand out. Maisa took her hand. Her face flushed. His cheeks bulged, his lips pursed. Walk ahead of Ken.

Ken followed. The girl snatched. He inserted his finger into Maisa's hand. Pull it into a small saung not far from there. He ordered young coconut ice sold at a stall on the beach.

The beach breeze hit them both. In the afternoon, the sun began to set. The silhouette of Mount Krakatau appears with a sky that is dominated by golden yellow. Volcanic ash plumes add to the beauty of the panorama.

Maisa was silent looking at the beauty presented before her eyes. Ken sprawled down beside Maisa and looked at her face. A golden-colored sun light hit his face. Maisa noticed her cold face but harbored hospitality. He turned his eyes to the sky. Golden-colored clouds were marching across the vastness of the orange sky.

“The sky is good yes. Looks good if it's painted.” Said Maisa. His right eye was closed. His fingers are forming a picture frame.

“The sky is good yes. Looks good if it's painted.” Said Maisa. His right eye was closed. His fingers are forming a picture frame.

Ken kissed the back of the girl's hand. Maisa gasped in surprise. He pulled his hand and turned to look at Ken. His eyes met Ken's.

Ken looked at Maisa's face carefully. The girl turned her face away, embarrassed for too long.

“Al afternoon. We'd better go home.” Said Ken.

“Al afternoon. We'd better go home.” Said Ken.

"Where have you been?" Mr. Chandra crossed both his arms to the chest.

Maisa sighed. Luckily Ken went straight home. He doesn't want his problems with his father to be known to Ken.

"Streetings, Pa. Refreshing! Let the brain stay sane."

"Did you just say?" Mr. Chandra glanced at him.

Maisa did not answer. He rushed up to his room before the matter got wider. He has decided to do whatever he wants. It's up to her father to be angry. After all, it's only six months left here.

Earphones in his ears. His head was listening to music. It feels more comfortable than hearing the spicy words of a gossip.

Maisa went straight into her class. Mia was there too. He waved his hand. Maisa approached him and sat down next to him.

“How are you related to Ken? Definitely interesting. Usually when people are cold it is romantic.”

“Unfortunately Ken is that cold.” Maisa raised her next to her eyebrows.

Mia clucked, shaking her head. This friend of his really doesn't know Ken's true attitude. The man earned the nickname the ice prince on this campus.

"Don't just me. You how? Any developments with Kio?" Maisa switched the conversation.

Mia hit his arm slowly. His face flushed, blushing in shame. "What the hell, Sa?"

On the other side. Ken opened the photo yesterday. Not bad's. Her lips extended a smile at Maisa's bright smile, as bright as the sun.

Kio came over, followed up. He chuckled in wonder. "Let's go... I thought see what photos. It was just that boy. He's worth not being seen all afternoon."

Ken snorted, "It's none of your business. Just take care of our basketball manager. She has a crush on you."

Kio glanced at Ken. Why was Mia taken along. He sighed, shrugging his two shoulders. This guy is so bucin, no longer helped.

Shortly after, Erik approached the two. He looked at Ken.

"What?"

"Someone's looking for you, huh." Erik pointed at someone standing behind him.

...****...

"Hey, where are you going after college?" Said Mia while tidying up her college book.

"I stopped by the art club for a while. Why?"

"I'm coming!"

"I'm coming!"

Maisa nodded in agreement. The two of them came out of the lecture hall, walking down the corridor. The tail of Maisa's eyes caught Ken's figure walking hand in hand with a beautiful girl with shoulder-length hair.

Between curiosity and annoyance into one. Maisa turned her steps following Ken. Mia stepped out in her footsteps with a astonished face.

Ken walked through the corridor until he reached the corner of the building. Maisa pulls Mia, crouching hiding behind the shrub. Mia giggled softly at this silly behavior of her friend.

"You jealous?"

"Who is jealous?"

Maisa put her index finger to her lips, telling her to be quiet. He sharpened his ears.

"So what are you trying to say here." Ken's voice looks different. His face that had always been smiling warmly, was now flat, his eyes coldly piercing.

The girl in front of him looked agitated. Head lowered. "I... L like you. I want to be your girlfriend."

Ken rubbed his hair. "I think what. It turns out it's just a troublesome thing. Just sorry. I'm not interested in you at all."

A thread of tears puffed up on the girl's cheeks. His heart was heartbroken to hear the painful answer of the person he liked. He ran away leaving Ken alone. There was no sympathy in Ken's face.

Maisa blinked her eyes a few times. Is this Ken who's always with him. It looks very different, cold and very foreign.
