Maisa spends the rest of her time before her departure to Paris seeing Ken and his friend play basketball. The kids ran after the orange ball. I'm sure he'll miss this mood.
Little Ken ran up to her and sat down next to her. "Sa, Saturday night you're busy, aren't you?"
His hands are playing an orange ball. The basketball rotates at the tip of his index finger.
Maisa focused her attention on the man beside her. "Again leisure. Why the hell?"
The two sat under a mango tree on the edge of a basketball court, looking back at each other. Maisa incised a paint brush onto the canvas. His eyes glanced at the object in the middle of the field.
Kio still plays basketball. No matter the sun burns the skin. Mia was encouraging on the sidelines. Although the wound had not healed properly, the girl insisted on following him.
"I want to take you on the road. I picked him up as usual at home, yes," Ken said again.
"Okay, Brother."
Maisa nodded in agreement. He wanted to spend as much time with the man as possible before leaving for Paris. Ken ruffled his hair, anxious.
Shortly after basketball practice broke up. Ken went straight to the photo shoot after giving a kiss on the girl's cheek. He dragged Kio along with him.
“Sa, you know not Saturday night what day?” mia sat next to him. He opened a packet of potato chips, started snacking.
Maisa frowned. The painting brush is placed on a pallet. Nothing special that day, except Ken asking her out on a date.
“What day is it?” the question is brief, straight to the core of the problem.
Mia banged her shoulder against the girl's shoulder slowly. His eyes were moving towards the girl. “Masa don't know. Saturday night was Ken.”'s birthday
"What's?"
His face could not hide his surprise. His eyes were wide, his lips slightly opened. The time he had stayed another day. Why didn't Ken tell her, when it was an important day.
“You have time today, Mi?”
“Ada.”
Maisa hurried to clean up her painting equipment. “Then accompany me to find a gift for Ken."
"OKAY. Yuk, we're pulling!" Mia rubbed the girl's arm.
Maisa stopped the move, considering Mia's condition is not fit. "I think it's good for you to take a break, Mi. I don't feel good to keep bothering you."
Mia kept pulling her arm. Want to not want Maisa to walk in her steps. "Came.... It is precisely I who will often trouble you sister-in-law."
Maisa laughed at the words of her friend. If the relationship is smooth, it does not rule out the possibility that Mia will be her big family as well.
...****...
Maisa looked at the small black box in her hand. Her lips formed a smile, hoping that Ken would like a gift from her.
The car stopped in front of the house. Maisa immediately put the box in her bag. His hands tidied up the hair that covered his face.
Maisa walks to the porch. Ken got out of the car and approached the girl. A faint smile developed on his face.
"I'm not late, am I?"
Maisa shook her head. "No, kok. Just relax, brother."
Ken looked inside the house for a moment. Lonely, no one. Maisa understands Ken's actions. "Papa overtime in the office. Kio's brother hasn't come home yet. Maybe go alone with Mia."
"Oh... Okay. Yes already. Yuk, go. I wanted permission first."
He invited her to a romantic movie. Maisa occasionally glanced at him. His eyes met Ken's. As fast as lightning he turned his attention to the cinema screen.
His eyes are presented with a friendly kiss scene of lovers. Shame attacked him. He was looking for another object to take his eyes off the film.
The tail of the girl's eyes caught a pair of young men kissing affectionately not far in front of her. He screamed in his heart.
Maisa ventured to look at Ken. The man was chin-backed, smiling gently at him. Don't ask about his heart condition. Automatic as run around the ball field. I don't know what his face looks like anymore.
"Sir Ken, how do you see me like that?" whispered in a nervous tone.
Put her face closer until she has one cent left. Maisa closed her eyes. Both hands squeezed the end of the cardigan.
"Because you're beautiful" whispered Ken in the girl's ear. He chuckles slowly.
Maisa opened her eyes, looking at Ken. The cup! Her lips accidentally touched Ken's lips.
"Well, it turns out my boyfriend is getting bolder huh," said Ken mocked the girl.
Maisa's face was red. Lips throbbing. Her pouting expression looked cute in Ken's eyes. He grabbed the nape of the girl, pulling closer towards her.
The lips of the two meet. Ken kissed Maisa's lips gently. Maisa closed her eyes, returning Ken's kiss. Both kissed for quite a while.
Ken took his hand off. Maisa covered half of her face with both hands. His face was red.
After watching the movie, Ken takes Maisa to dinner at a restaurant in a skyscraper. There are only a few visitors there.
Maisa can see the city of Jakarta from above the height of the twenty-floor building. Seemed as a flickering vehicle lights passing by.
His fingers reached for a small box in the bag. He thrusts in front of Ken. Ken accepted it with great astonishment.
"Happy birthday, brother!" Maisa smiled sweetly towards him.
"W...!" Looks like Ken forgot his birthday. He was too lazy to celebrate. Almost never celebrated each year.
"What'sthis? Can I open it?"
Maisa nodded slowly. "I don't know much of what you like. But I hope Ken likes it.
"Whatever the gift is from you, I'll love it" Ken replied softly. He opened the box. A white watch wrapped in black leather straps.
The tail of her eyes looked at Maisa's left wrist wearing a similar watch. Ken smiled thinly. "Would you put it up for me?"
"certain." Maisa took the watch from her box, put it on Ken's wrist.
"I'll set the time to be the same." Ken pulled Maisa's left hand, aligning it with his. He compared the time of the two hours.
Maisa is observing Ken. Observing every inch of his face. Ken felt the girl watching him.
"I'm handsome, right?" chirp Ken held back his smile.
"Ka... Says who?" reply Maisa tried to dodge.
"You were reading a magazine about me."
Maisa did not reply to Ken's words. "Why should remember that, anyway," he grumbled softly.
"Sa, there's something I want to give you."
Ken took out a small maroon box. He opened the box. A pair of silver-colored rings inside.
"Nearly we'll be apart. I don't want to leave any doubts for you. I gave you this ring as a sign of my love for you. After college, I'd like to propose to you."
Maisa closed her lips with both hands. Eyes glazed. He didn't expect Ken to think about it that far.
Ken grabs Maisa's hand, attaches the ring to her ring finger. His fingers rubbed a tear in the corner of the girl's eyes. Her lips were soft.
"I love you" whispered the man quietly.
Maisa replied with trembling lips. "I love you too."
