The Horizon Boundaries
Ch.22 Unexpected Guest

Kio's forehead wrinkled with restraining annoyance. Mr. Chandra stared intently at the young man sitting leisurely on the sofa. Getting an unfriendly welcome from the host, Jain chuckled softly. Feeling inexhaustible with the two humans in front of him who were so cynical. This was the first time he had visited Maisa's house.

"Did that kid give me the address of this house?" Said Kio while grunting annoyed, blatantly showing dislike to Jain.

That kid? There's anger running into his veins. Is Maisa not that valuable in front of them. Jain let out a long breath, easing his anger. If it wasn't because he was Maisa's sister, Kio would've gotten the blow of raw bogem since then.

"Not really. I have my own source of information."

Kio smiled mockingly. "Dearly enough. He's not home today."

"Ah... Don'worry. I'm not in a hurry, I'm." Jain returned his taunts, the corner next to his lips rising upwards forming a grin.

Now it's Kio's turn to be emotionally charged. Mr. Chandra cleared his throat slowly. Kio jerked slowly. The three were silent for a moment. The atmosphere around them felt heavy.

"What's it gonna take to find that kid?" The heavy voice of the middle-aged man broke the silence.

"Just want to take him on the road, Om."

Mr. Chandra snorted in annoyance. "What?"

Oh gosh. No father, no son, the same behavior.

"Streetings, Om. Ordinary young man, meeting old kangen do not meet."

Mr. Chandra glared at him. His face looks unhappy. Jain quietly noticed the mimicry of Mr. Chandra's face. He did not expect, a father who was indifferent and never there for Maisa could put on a face like that. What has his attitude been all this time?

Silent. The sound of a pair of footsteps approaching. Jain turned his head hoping that someone he was waiting for would come. Disappointed, see who's coming. Ken walked over to them. He looked at Jain in wonder. Why was that man at Kio's house.

Ken leaned his back against the sofa after previously greeting Mr. Chandra. Now an increasing number of people looked at Jain with intimidating looks. It felt like he wanted to laugh loosely, feeling that the situation looked ridiculous. It feels like it's hard to ask for marriage. Instantly Jain banishes the distorted mind.

"Kok you're here?" he told Ken.

"Well! None of your business. What are you here for?"

"Hmmm...." Mangosteen jain. His eyes narrowed, glancing towards Kio and Mr. Chandra who were silent. Ah... It seems they did not tell Maisa's relationship to her. Ken Poor. Though he is the candidate of his sister-in-law, if paired.

"I want to ask your friend's sister out." Jain laughed loudly.

Kio spouted out his drink and Mr. Chandra who was sipping his coffee coughed. Jain frowned in disdain at Kio.

A sister? Kio has a sister?

Ken frowned, his mouth slightly open, intending to ask who Jain meant.

"Geez, seriously you don't know his sister. Make sure you're friends." Jain chuckled in a mocking tone.

Ken looked at Kio questioningly. Who's the little brother Jain said. Kio was just silent. Mr. Chandra didn't even say anything.

"Loh, Brother Jain!"

The soft voice of someone she knew very well. Jain jumped off the sofa, running over to Maisa. The girls hands were carrying grocery bags full of snacks and drinks. Jain took over the innards. Maisa seems surprised to see Jain and Ken there together. Ken turned his head towards the girl, looking at her questioningly.

"Hi dear. Today's the way, yuk."

"Mr...."

Maisa looked at Ken and Jain in turn. His face looks confused. Jain gave his fox smile, and Ken demanded an explanation.

"Kok Kak Jain here didn't say anything."

"Surprise! This is called a surprise." Jain chuckled slowly stretching out his two hands.

"Sa, your boyfriend still doesn't know that Kio is your brother. Is this because of Kio?" Jain's face was serious.

Maisa swallowed his saliva. He nodded slowly. Jain did not look surprised at all. He ruffled his waist, shaking his head.

"Sa, you want to see when they live in their shadow. I don't like to see you get hurt."

"But this is all because of my fault, brother." Maisa replied with a bitter smile, the look on her face looks sad.

"ah! Goddamnit!" Jain ruffled her hair withstanding the vexation.

Ken's chest throbbing pain saw Maisa holding Jain's hand away. The shadow disappeared behind the door. He turned to look at Kio in front of him. He wanted to demand all explanations from her.

"Maisa's my sister."

Ken was relieved to hear that. His heart felt light. He should have quickly realized that his relationship with Kio was just a brother and sister. Judging from anywhere, it is definitely not a relationship of lovers.

"Why didn't you tell me she was your sister?"

"For what? She's not a good girl either."

Looks like Kio and Maisa didn't get along. Kio always looked at him with hatred. It seems like that applies to Mr. Chandra as well. The reason Maisa had always shied away from her, and also the reason the girl refused as she wanted to drive home was all because of Kio and his family. Butwhy? What made him get such treatment.

"Did Maisa do something that was hard to forgive? Everyone can be wrong. Nothing is perfect, Bro. Then you ignored him? Treat him like a stranger?"

Kio did not reply to Ken's words just now. Choosing silence. What he said was true. Kio always ignored and considered Maisa like a stranger.

Ken doesn't understand Kio's line of thinking. He wanted to hug Maisa right then and there. I don't know if this is just sympathy or part of his joy. He doesn't care. Ken came out after Maisa. Walk around the house in a hurry. He saw Maisa and Jain standing next to each other on the edge of the gazebo.

Ken approached Maisa who was laughing beside Jain. Hugged the girl from behind. Both of his hands locked the girl into his arms. Her lips kissed the top of Maisa's head. His eyes stared intently at Jain, telling him to stay away.

Jain raised both his hands. Take a step back. "Wo... Wo... Wo...Relax, Bro. I didn't snatch your girlfriend."

Maisa is aghast at getting an unexpected back hug. His face was red like a boiled crab. Jain chuckled amusedly. His hand intended to caress Maisa's head, but was immediately brushed aside by Ken.

Maisa lets go of Ken's embrace, turns her body to face Ken. His face is a bit upturned considering the difference in height both are quite contrasting. Maisa's height is just as much as Ken's.

"Sister Ken's not going the same way Kak Kio?" Maisa's cheeks look red.

Ken shook his head. His hand was holding Maisa's hand. "I want to walk with you."

"But I promised Jain Kak a road together before returning to Jogja."

Ken put on a disappointed face. He let go of his hand. Maisa feels bad for Ken. He promised to go with his old friend.

Jain looked on with a triumphant smile, making Ken riled up. He pulled Maisa's hand away from the gazebo. Maisa's lips moved apologizing to Jain. Jain followed them.

"Don't try to come along." Sent Ken with a face.

Jain clenched his right hand, covering his mouth that was holding back laughter. Facing a possessive person does not have a cure.
