Kyle couldn't control himself when Elara called him. With a heavy heart he had to express his disappointment towards the woman.
On the other hand, Shane who was in his office got a report about the parcel that Elara received today. He also knows who the sender is.
Shane tapped a finger on the edge of the table while thinking. He believes Elara must be feeling guilty about Kyle.
Regarding his own feelings, actually from the beginning, Shane was not so happy with the friendship between his wife and the man named Kyle. But how else, Shane did not want to be selfish by forbidding his wife to make friends.
At least, Elara is already hers and what makes Shane feel victorious is that Elara chose her for loving him.
With those two things in mind, Shane hopes to shake off his jealousy towards his wife's own best friend. Although actually Shane did not know until when he could withstand the feeling of tightness like this.
While thinking about it, Shane is surprised by the arrival of his mother to his room in the office.
This morning, Shane did have breakfast at one table with Emma and did not talk much and discuss anything. But now, Emma seemed to have come to talk about something.
"Shane are you busy? I want to have lunch with you later."
And Shane had to get rid of all his thoughts about Kyle and Elara just because of his mother's arrival in his room.
"alright. I'll book a place at the restaurant across for us to have lunch" Shane responded.
"No need. Jose took care of it" Emma said, referring to her assistant's name.
"okay." Shane said briefly.
Emma passed from Shane's room without further ado. They are used to being flat in the office.
Right at lunchtime, Shane finally meets his mother at the restaurant that Jose has reserved. Shane arrives with Max and sits down with his mother after Max and Jose occupy another table.
"Is there anything important to you?"
Emma looked around, feeling safe to talk then she continued.
"Have you heard anything about your late brother?"
Shane frowning. "What does mother mean?" tanyakanya.
"There were eyewitnesses who saw that Shawn survived the crash."
Shane shook his head hard. "That's impossible" he said in disbelief.
The black sports car that Shawn used on his last day, was even badly run over and burned. A corpse is even behind the wheel with a state of being roasted. Isn't that enough to prove that Shawn really died?
"From the beginning, I wasn't ready to accept the autopsy results of your brother's body. So, I never opened the autopsy to see the answer."
Shane was a little flabbergasted about this. "So, you didn't open the autopsy map?"
Emma nodded, assuring.
"And after I heard about someone who saw Shawn, I opened the autopsy and you know what it was?"
Shane raised an eyebrow now, preparing to hear his mother's reply.
"All we buried back then was definitely not Shawn," she later sighed.
Shane is breathing deeply now. If Shawn did survive the accident, then why didn't Shawn go back home? Or did Shawn deliberately disappear from public view and let alone the news of his death? What exactly was planned by her brother.
"Who is he then? Why is he driving Shawn's car?" ask Shane.
"We'll find out if we can find any trace of your brother. I suspect Shawn deliberately disappeared because of Stevi's pregnancy and there will be a time when she returns let alone the child Stevi gave birth to is not her flesh blood."
"I mean mother ... Shawn deliberately engineered this so as not to be held accountable from Stevi?" guess Shane drew the conclusion.
"Not engineering, Shane. To be precise, Shawn took the opportunity that happened to not take responsibility for Stevi's pregnancy."
"Gosh ..." Shane is doing her own hair. Feeling riled. If it turns out Shawn is really still alive and makes them all fooled then if later Shane meets his brother again, he does not hesitate to make calculations.
"Does Shawn not want to have children? Until the time Stevi was pregnant she seemed to deliberately use this situation to escape responsibility," said Shane bluntly.
"You mean?" Emma's frowning now.
"Shawn once told me that he wanted childfree."
Emma's massaging the base of her nose now. "Shawn told you that?"
"Yes." Yeah."
Emma seemed to think. "Or rather, from the beginning Shawn knew that Stevi's conception was not his flesh and blood."
"It could be," Shane replied firmly. "And I almost had to account for all that!" protests later.
"Hm ..." Shane just cleared his throat. Indeed, he was very confused to answer what his mother's last statement was.
They were dissolved in silence for a moment. Until finally, Emma broke quietly with her speech which made Shane agree to the proposal.
"Find your sister, Shane. I'm sure he's monitoring us from a distance."
"Yes, I think so too. I'll figure out a way to lure him in" Shane said.
...****...
Shane returns home and finds his wife reading a book on the balcony of the room that afternoon.
"You're home yet?" Elara was shocked when she felt a hand suddenly rub the top of her head.
"Too focused on reading a novel makes you not realize your husband's return doesn't even welcome him" Shane said, complaining.
Elara put on a face. "I'm sorry, yeah, yeah?" He cupped the side of Shane's face with both palms.
Shane took Elara's fingers on her cheek, then peeked it short.
"I'll forgive you on condition ..."
Elara was memicing now, preparing to hear the terms her husband would give her.
"What?" ask Elara.
"Guild me take a shower."
Elara shook her head hard. "No, Shane. I've had a shower and can get wet again if it accompanies you to take a shower." Not only wet, she could even be bathed by her husband, thought Elara.
Shane was frowning. "In that case, I won't forgive you" he threatened.
Elara snorted softly and Shane chuckled at her.
"How, Honey?"
Elara pursed her lips while grumbling. "Do I have any other choice?" tanyakanya.
"No."
"Yes, I have no other choice."
And Elara's guess didn't miss a bit, Shane actually took her to take a bath in a bathtub filled with soap foam.
"Something I want to talk about ..." Shane poked slowly near Elara's ear, making the woman slightly tilt her head to see Shane sitting behind her.
"What?"
"I heard the news that Shawn was alive."
Elara was shocked, not only because of the news that Shane had delivered but also because Shane had snatched her neck firmly after her sentence was triggered.
"Shane, I want to hear about Shawn, didn't I hear wrong?" elara asked as she pushed a bit of Shane's face that had been leaned into the niche of her neck.
Shane nodded. "Yes, he's still alive" he said.
"Then the one in the tomb?"
"It looks like there's been a mistake. The mother, who could not bear Shawn's death, did not open the autopsy results, until finally the body was buried with Shawn's identity."
Elara listened to Shane's words with a slight gawk.
"... reportedly, after the mother heard the grapevine if Shawn was still alive, then the mother opened the autopsy results from the Hospital and the results.
"Gosh ..." Of course, this surprised Elara even though she did not know Shawn.
"I'm telling you about this because I want you not to be surprised if Shawn comes home one day and introduces himself as my brother."
Elara nodded. "His face looks like yours?" tanyanya.
"Yes, that's it. We have almost the same face. Because Shawn and I are identical twins."
And now Elara knows why Stevi insisted to marry Shane at that time, maybe because of facial resemblance factors that became one of the triggers of his obsession. Shane's face clearly reminded Stevi of her own lover, Shawn.
"But I'm sure you'll be able to tell us apart." Shane kept his lips at the intersection of Elara's neck and sucked them back in strongly.
