23. Ela, Lara, Elara

Shane tries to grab Elara's hand for her to hold, but the girl still dodges. It seems that Elara did not want to believe Shane just like that before she heard the truth.

"All right, I'll explain" said Shane, who understood Elara's rejection of him.

"Stevi is Shawn's girlfriend, she's my sister. They've been together a long time, but a few months ago Shawn died in an accident. We all lost it."

Elara's eyes fester upon hearing Shane's explanation.

"So, this is what made your mother tell my father that Stevi was your wife?" Elara came to a conclusion.

Shane immediately gasped at the girl's words. "So, you want to continue our relationship, right? I've never lied to you, Lara" he said to the point and solemnly.

Elara shook her head faintly. "Sorry, Shane. To be honest, I can't get involved with you anymore" he said with a heavy heart.

Elara stood up from her seat. For her, although Shane is not Stevi's husband as she had anticipated, the man is still bound by a complicated relationship because the mother also asked Shane to marry Stevi.

"Why? I'm serious about how I feel about you, Lara." Shane looked at the girl with sadness. He was never this serious with a woman. If from the beginning he only intended to play Elara, maybe he wouldn't have tried too much like this.

"I thought, even if you weren't married to Stevi, your relationship was complicated. Your mother couldn't have liked me that way either." Elara spoke realistically.

Elara made Shane confused by the statement.

"What did you do after you got out of the hospital, Shane? I thought you hadn't entered the workforce yet, but you seemed to be taking care of something very important?" inward Stevi asked what Shane was doing until the man ignored his own health. Shane also seemed busy. Or maybe Shane already has a lover?

Elara knew her decision to reject Shane was a big enough decision to make. But he was also confused as to how.

Given if the man lives at home with Stevi without a clear relationship, makes Elara think if they are not worthy to continue the relationship because Elara does not want if later she will always think negatively about both.

"I know, because I read it through the window of your heart. People say that the window of the heart is clear through both eyes and I see it in your eyes."

Elara held back the pitch because of Shane's speech. This man is sometimes very good at words, that's why since the meeting in the Forest, Elara has dubbed Shane as a master seducer who is reliable melts the hearts of women, including him of course.

Shane took Elara's hands, then carried them around her neck to let Elara slip there.

Elara gasps from her sleep, holding her lips which somehow still feels the warmth of Shane's kiss even though it only happens in a sleeping flower.

Elara became indecisive, given her rejection of the man this afternoon.

"Shane, did I hurt you?" elara asked as if she was talking to the man.

Elara was dumbstruck for quite a while, realizing that she missed him too.

"Shane, I miss you" he muttered.

Elara knows this won't be easy, but she must keep trying to forget Shane as she has been trying.
