"So you came here to propose to my daughter?" ask Anton in English to Shane.
Now, Shane is facing Anton after Elara makes a video call with her father. Anton sees someone else coming with his daughter - trying to solve the cafe problem as soon as possible - to see who the man is.
And his conjecture turned out to be true, who was with Elara was the lover of her daughter. What made Anton curious was why the figure of the man before him was so similar to the man he had visited in Germany at that time - the man who was declared comatose - when found in the Forest.
The problem is, Anton remembers if there was a two-bodied woman who he knew as the wife of this man.
"Yes, I want to marry Elara, sir." Shane said steadily without any hint of hesitation in the intonation of his voice. "We've had a serious relationship over the past year" he added.
Anton did not want to guess, so he immediately asked his point.
"Where do you know Elara? Are you the same man who helped her in the plane crash?"
Shane nodded. "Yes. We met in the woods. I found Elara stuck in a tree branch jutting into the river" he explained.
Now that Anton shook his head faintly, it turned out that his guess was correct if this man was the man he had visited the other day. Maybe Shane doesn't know, but he remembers it, he doesn't misunderstand people.
"Are you a single guy? I mean, don't you have a wife-"
"Sorry, sir." Shane interrupted. "I'm sorry if I'm not polite to cut off your wrong speech. I just want to make it clear that there's a misunderstanding here." Shane knows for sure, maybe Anton had met his mother and Stevi while visiting him at the Hospital when he was in a coma.
"... i've never been married, my status is single. Maybe you thought I was married because I had met my mother and a pregnant woman who told me about the status of the marriage. It's all not true" Shane explained straightforwardly.
Shane tells Anton in detail about the thing that once held him with Stevi. Even with the decision of his mother who asked him to marry the woman to account for Stevi's actual pregnancy was not because of Shane.
"So, does your mother now know about your relationship with Elara?"
Shane nodded back. "Yes, this has already realized his mistake as he continues to force me to marry Stevi. Now, my mom is asking Elara and I to get married" she said.
"alright. Everything you said I could accept. But, can I trust you?" tanya Anton looked at Shane with a serious highlight. "Honestly, Elara is my precious daughter. I raised him in difficult times, even when my family's economic situation was not as stable as it is today. So, I'm not going to hand it over to a random guy" Anton said frankly.
"I know. I know it very well." Shane says understanding.
"Regarding your help for Elara when she was in a plane crash back then, I would like to say a big thank you. But, are you sure you can make my daughter happy?" ask Anton.
"I'm very sure. There is no doubt in my heart. She's complete me. There's no reason for me not to be happy."
Anton sees a strong resolve in Shane's greenish net, but more than that - his feelings as a father still feel heavy to release Elara to a man who is still unfamiliar to him. Anton doesn't know Shane yet, which makes him doubtful.
"I'll discuss this with my wife first. Once I get the answer, then I'll tell you immediately." Finally Anton arrived at a decision, he would ask Nadine's opinion first because he was accustomed to sharing everything with his wife.
"Alright, I appreciate your decision. But honestly, I expected an answer that was in line with my expectations. I hope you can see my seriousness coming to you to propose to Elara in a good way" said Shane, who understands that Anton needs to think about all this.
Anton nodded and left in front of Shane.
When Anton returned to the living room, all the eyes there were staring at him. No exception Elara who had joined Mother and her two sisters there.
"Has the conversation finished?" tanya Nadine welcomed her husband's presence in the room.
Anton nodded, then gestured for Nadine to enter their room.
Elara herself could not guess what happened. Has her father rejected Shane's proposal? That was the worst possibility Elara thought. In Elara's hurry to catch up with Shane in the living room, she wanted to ask him what the man was talking to his father because they had given Shane and Anton a chance to speak for one eye.
"Mirhane?" Elara approached the position of Shane who was still seen sitting quietly on the living room sofa.
"Yes?" The man looked up, looking at Elara who was standing not far from him.
"Why? Any issues?" Elara took a position next to Shane and sat there.
"Nothing."
"So, what did you answer? Did he accept your proposal?"
Shane gave a thin smile. "Your father will accept me" he said sure.
"Are you going to give up?" elara Goda.
Shane smothers a smile. "You know I can't back down after all this" he replied.
"If it turns out that Dad rejected you. What are you gonna do, Shane?" Elara teased the man again.
"I'll keep trying. You said blessing was important, right? Then I will try to get that blessing from both your parents" said Shane determinedly.
"And if you keep failing?"
"Elara, Come on! You should encourage your lover, not scare me like that" Shane said.
"You scared?" cibir Elara later.
Shane's getting frustrated now. "Yeah, I admit I'm scared now. I've never been this scared before, when maybe my mother was more assertive than your father, but somehow I was more afraid of his decision than my mother's answer" Shane admitted.
Now Elara is holding amused. "Obviously you're more afraid of my father, because you can't fight him like you would against your mother. You wouldn't have asked me to elope if my father didn't approve of us, would you?" elara Molok.
"Who said?" shane's Response. "Who said I didn't dare? If it's true that your father doesn't approve of us, then you're really going to elope with me" he said insisting.
"If I don't want to?" Elara continued to tease Shane because she knew that the man was nervous about the outcome of his struggle today.
"Then I'll kidnap you!" hiss Shane who immediately made Elara turn scared.
"Don't make it up, Shane," replied Elara.
"You know I've always realized my words. Therefore, your job is to pray for your father to accept my proposal, not even scare me like this," said Shane, who eventually made Elara laugh.
"All right, okay, I'm sorry. I know I should calm you down, not tease her like this." Elara clasped Shane's fingers later.
Shane returned the grip so that now their fingers are interlocked.
"Listen to me, we promised we'd get through everything together, right?"
Shane nodded at Elara.
"... do you remember what we sacrificed to reach this stage?"
"Yeah, I can't possibly forget it."
"And from that I hope you stay optimistic."
"All right, Lara." Shane can smile now.
"On prayer, without you asking I will always pray for you. You know why?"
"Why?" ask Shane.
"Because you're not the only one expecting that blessing. Me either. Because it's not just you who wants to marry me but I also want to be married to you."
Now Shane's the one who's laughing. "It turns out that the woo virus I've been showing you so often has started to spread to you" Shane said with a thin grin.
Elara hits Shane's arm slowly. "I'm serious, Shane," he said.
"Yes, yeah, I know. Hopefully your father can make a decision in accordance with the expectations of both of us."
Elara nodded now, while Shane whispered softly in the girl's ear.
"Whatever happens, I will fight for you."
