28. An idea that came to pass

Shane got a call when he just arrived at his apartment. It was a call from my mother. Shane was not so surprised, instead he could guess what his mother would talk about through the cellular connection. Shane also guessed that the mother had arrived at her family's residence by now.

"Shane, why do you have to leave the house? Mom's home and you're not there. You said you wanted to talk to Mom. I'm waiting for you at home, right now!"

Shane kept the phone away from his ear because of the mother's voice that exceeded the speed of the electric train. But Shane only spoke briefly about all his mother's long sentences.

"Hmmm ..."

Then the call just got cut off.

Shane thinned his lips, smiled slightly as he twirled his cell phone at a glance, then he came back out of his apartment unit with a very calm gelagat.

Shane was determined not to fight his mother out loud, but rather he would face this casually in order to open his mother's mind.

Shane arrived at the Gladwin family's residence twenty minutes later. Facing his mother who he had suspected was accompanied by a two-bodied woman. Who else if not Stevi.

Shane suspects that Stevi told her mother about her departure from home. Either the story was added or reduced to sound dramatic in his mother's ears.

But clearly, Shane will not be daunted now, because he is defending his beliefs and the principles he is upholding - that he will never be held accountable for anything that is not his doing.

"Mane? You're finally home."

Shane sat face to face with the two women. Folding both hands on the chest and cross with his leisure.

"Who wants to talk first?" ask Shane to start.

Emma looked at her son who showed a calm demeanor, but somehow it looked annoying in her eyes.

"Okay, the mother who spoke here first."

Shane nodded his head. "Please" he said.

Once again Emma felt Shane's attitude was a bit different, Emma glanced at Stevi and the woman shrugged about the question cue Emma gave.

"When are you going to marry Stevi?" Emma began her conversation on the point.

"Mom knew it wouldn't happen."

"Mom still hopes you change Shane's mind."

"Why, Mom?"

"Of course it's because Stevi's pregnant with our family. The kid Stevi's is the mother's granddaughter, Shane."

"Yes, maybe that's true. Or maybe not." Now Shane grinned at Stevi who had a tight face there.

"Mane!" protest the two-bodied woman. "Of course this is Shawn's son, which means he is a descendant of the Gladwin family" he stressed.

Shane sniffed his shoulders indifferently. "We never knew before the baby was born and checked his DNA" he said casually.

"Mane!"

While Emma stared at Stevi and Shane's interactions that had just started and were already making a fuss.

Stevi seemed to explode in disbelief with Shane's speech, while Shane himself-more responded with a calm attitude.

Emma is dizzy herself. The old woman massaged her temple.

"Already! enough!"

"Enough, Shane! You said as if I was a cheap woman playing with a lot of guys besides your late brother!" Stevi cries and Emma is confused to see her.

Emma tried to persuade Stevi, while Shane clucked his tongue at her. He felt that Stevi was playing a sad act now.

"Okay, okay. I'll take that as Shawn's son." Shane spoke again. "But, as I have said, I will not hold the child accountable because it is not my doing!" continued emphasizing.

"Mane! Don't you feel sorry for Stevi? Come, Son. Pity this baby if he was born without a father figure" pleaded Emma to her son.

"Say her father is dead. The truth is, right?" Shane still replied quietly without any emotion.

But the answer this time managed to make Emma's emotions higher.

"You're too much, Shane! I believe in Stevi if it's Shawn's son, so please marry Stevi. Think of it as your last wish!"

"No, Mom!" This time Shane said firmly. "I don't want to and it's final" he said as he moved on.

Emma looks at Shane with a disappointed look, though she may not force Shane again because this is not Shane's responsibility.

"alright, mother. I'll just go and take my son with me!" threaten Stevi while rubbing her own tears.

Emma shook her head weakly, she felt the baby Stevi was her first grandchild, where perhaps she let Stevi go with the baby.

"No, please don't do that, Stevi. Your son is my granddaughter, I'll force Shane any way."

Shane, who was still on the doorstep, could hear that quite clearly. His emotions suddenly soared and suddenly an idea flashed in his head.

"Look!" Shane's resolute voice managed to make the two women talking to each other turn back to him. "In addition to refusing about my marriage to Stevi, I also want to say one thing that ..." Shane looked at his mother's face after goal, before finally continuing the word.

" ... that, my beloved is also pregnant with my son and that is also Gladwin's descendant, I hope you can think about it again. Which one I deserve better to answer now. And Shane's speech, managed to make Stevi's eyes wide. Even with Emma, the old woman was sitting limp on the sofa while massaging her temples.

If Shane marries his pregnant girlfriend, who will father Stevi's child?

"You're kidding me, aren't you, Shane?" timpal Stevi interrupted Shane's words to his mother.

Shane looked back at Stevi. He smiled with disdain. "You're kidding me, Stevi! How can you ask me to marry you, what kind of joke is that?" the sarcasm.

Stevi snorted loudly. It turns out that his premonition is not wrong, if Shane already has a lover. But, hearing that Shane's lover is pregnant then her hope to be married by the man will soon be destroyed.

"I can't believe it. If the girl you dated was pregnant, you should have brought her here too!" stevi said he wanted to meet Shane's lover so he could find any way to separate them. In other words, Stevi says this is so that Shane introduces the woman to her so that she knows who she is.

"Well, you'll know when I introduce you to Mom." Shane looked at his mother. "How's mom?" shane asked with a thin grin.

Emma, who is still plagued with a sense of dizziness, only shook her head faintly in response to Shane's question.

"I'll introduce her to Mom. And I hope you can be fair because Lara is also pregnant with a granddaughter, just like Stevi" she said.
