21. Investigate

Shane returned to his residence with a chaotic feeling. Given how the girl he loves actually avoids him and what is worse is pretending not to know him.

"Mane? You just got home? You shouldn't have gone anywhere, your condition hasn't improved so much."

Shane looked at Stevi with an annoyed look. "Be quiet! And don't bother me!" hard hatch.

"Why him?" stevi's murmur was still heard quite clearly in Shane's sense of hearing.

Shane picks up the phone from the nightstand drawer, seemingly wanting to contact someone.

"What's up, Mister?"

His cellular connection was connected to someone Shane was contacting.

"Max, there's a job for you!" Shane.

"Have you returned to work, sir?"

"It's not about work, but find someone's background for me."

"All right, sir."

Shane disconnects his call, then sends a message to the number of the man he calls by the name of Max. The message contained a photo of Elara, whom she had photographed while they were both still trapped in the Forest.

"Luckily I took a picture of you at that time Lara," the man's mind was relieved. He'll investigate this. Although his phone was lost due to the last incident while he was in the Forest, but he photographed Elara using his small camera, without ever being known by the girl.

After the incident last night, Elara was quite wary when she came out of her apartment unit. He was afraid of meeting Shane all of a sudden. He was paranoid himself, but there was no one when he opened the door of his residence.

On the way, Elara gets a call from Kyle.

"Kyle, what's wrong?"

"Ela, can you take a long leave of absence next month?"

"What's up, Kyle? Where are you taking me?" Of course Elara was confused by Kyle's question and guessed if the man wanted to take her somewhere for a long time.

"I'm going to Indonesia, to visit your family."

"For?"

"Nothing, I just want to take you there."

"Kyle, we've been friends for a long time and I don't think you can hide anything from me."

There was a loud laugh from Kyle across the street. "Give your leave, you'll know after we meet your family there together" he said.

"I can't promise, Kyle. You know myself I've only been at work for a month and I can't possibly apply for any more leave, let alone for a long period of time."

"Well, if you fail to apply, I'll help you ask for that permission."

"Why him?" inner Elara was puzzled by Kyle's attitude that started to keep things a secret.

Elara finally arrived at the campus and filled the class schedule that had been given to her.

The girl explains in her special style that is easy to understand.

"Md. Ela, there's someone looking for you, he's saying he's your fiance."

Elara thought, it must be Kyle who often comes suddenly and without notice, but when she saw who was standing there, Elara was immediately shocked in disbelief.

"Md. Ela?"

Shane grinned at him and Elara knew she had been caught and could not escape now.

"So your name is Elara? Worth it," chirped the man again. Both hands are folded across the chest, looking intimidating, but a smile is etched from the tip of his lips - so obvious - if Shane is in a happy mood.

"I-I'm busy. Ji-if there's anything important, then meet me again later." Finally the sentence was thrown by Elara, although hesitant but she was not likely to avoid again when Shane already knew about himself even his workplace.

"Well see you later?" Shane approached, cutting the distance between them far enough because Elara just stared at the door when she found the man in the room. "... When do you mean? Can it be clarified?" the man wanted to get a definite answer from Elara's lips.

"Y-yes, later, after my teaching hours are over," said Elara bowed her face, she did not dare to stir a second to reply to the greenish eyes of the man in front of her.

"Can you tell me what time it is, honey?" whispered Shane, he even leaned a little body to be able to hear the speech in the ear of Elara in a seductive manner.

Elara gets creeped out for it. "Em-four. At 4," he said nervously.

Shane grinned again. One corner of his lips was interested. "All right, I'll be waiting for you" he said.

Elara exhaled a loud breath just after Shane passed from before her.

"Oh my God, is he investigating me?" inner Elara.

Elara remembers that if she never told Shane about her workplace, she never even said she worked as a teaching assistant. Elara only ever told him her address in Hamburg, because Shane promised to visit her.

Now Elara believed that if the man's words were to find her after they came out of the Forest - no kidding.

Deep inside Elara, she is very happy with Shane's attitude that keeps his promise. If only the man was not Stevi's husband, it might be another story, but Shane's status which belonged to another woman made Elara have to be aware of her position.

Elara does not want to be a destroyer of other people's households. This was also reported by his father.

However, if Shane continues to come to him like this, Elara is afraid she is tempted again by the man.

Given his feelings that have fallen for Shane, maybe Elara will lose.

So, Elara has to rely on the commitment embedded in her that she does not want to be an evil woman who takes the property of others, nor will it damage the happiness of other women.
