And silence instantly ambushed the two as soon as they occupied one tent together. Moreover, the size of the tent was not too big. Shane had to bend his legs, while Elara also had to curl up to protect herself from the cold around her.
Suddenly Shane broke the silence between them. The brunette man saw a pretty predictable Elara. It seems the girl is cold.
"You want a blanket?" Shane offered Elara.
"You have it?"
"There's a blankets to life" Shane joked and it made Elara think hard. What does Shane mean by living blankets?
"Living blanket means?"
"A blanket that can move but it doesn't take away its primary function in warming you."
Elara smiled slightly while shaking her head faintly. Shane threw the same smile.
"You're not interested in that blanket?"
Apparently Shane still wants to talk about the same thing.
"Well, I do need a blanket but I want a blanket that's normal."
Shane finally sat down, looking for something from the backpack he had used as a pillow.
"This, wear! It's not a blanket, but it's my hoodie, sorry I put it on a while ago, but maybe it can make you shake off the cold."
Elara accepted and almost said a word of thanks, but Shane immediately made a sound to make Elara back to silence her mouth that had been opened.
"Look down, I make sure it's clean and doesn't smell" Shane said with a small laugh and Elara nodded with a dikulum smile.
The girl immediately enveloped herself with Shane's hoodie which gave off the man's distinctive aftershave scent. It smells like a mixture of musk and woody. Elara drifted to make him close his eyes gradually getting sleepy.
Shane moved a little and watched Elara who was closed. One corner of his lips was attracted, he fell asleep with a smile.
And it's true Elara said, nothing happened between them that night other than actually falling into the dream realm.
...***...
Elara awoke early in the morning when she found herself alone in a tent. He got out of there and saw Shane was busy lighting a small stove that was his fighting tool in the campground.
"Mirhane?"
"You awake?"
"Hmm... Can I clean myself in the river?"
Shane immediately shifted his attention to focus on staring at Elara completely.
"Eat first, I don't want you to drift again in the same stream."
As usual, Elara nodded obediently, she always obeyed something that felt good and did not contradict her instincts.
"What are you cooking?"
"Only instant noodles. You want?"
"Of course, I can't possibly reject it" Elara said honestly.
Shane chuckled softly then sipped the coffee he had also made before.
"Is there any more coffee?" ask Elara.
"You want, I can make it for you too, just a minute ..."
Shane re-lit his small stove stove and heated the water to make instant coffee.
The sun had not yet fully appeared, the weather was still quite dark when they woke up, or perhaps because this was in the forest so the weather at this hour still seemed not bright at all.
"Finished cleaning up in the river, I want us to find a signal. Can't you?"
Shane looked at Elara for a moment, he seemed to think then the man said,
"Are you sure? I think your condition isn't too fit."
"But I need to tell my family soon."
"I know." Shane stared into Elara's black net with a concerned look. "But I won't let you get too tired either because I'm afraid you're going to get sick" he said.
Finished with their breakfast, they walked slightly to a nearby river from where their tent was. Unlike the river that washed away Elara yesterday, here the place is more sloping and flat. There are some rocks and it displays a typical forest that is still natural and not touched at all by human hands. As for a waterfall that is not too big is not small, maybe it comes from a mountain that is higher up there.
"Well, it's beautiful here" said Elara when she arrived. He feels like he's on an excursion at a vacation spot right now.
"It's more beautiful than I thought" said Shane, who was also amazed. "Wait for what else? Let's go over there!" the man said enthusiastically.
Shane went in there first, he doused Elara with a splash of water making the girl sniff because of her actions.
"Don!!!" Elara complains but eventually gets into the water and treats Shane with similar actions to avenge the man's jail behavior.
They laughed with the joke, Elara felt good chatting like this until she forgot something.
"My God, my clothes!!" Elara screeched as she realized her real clothes and her underwear were washed away by running water. In fact, Elara's initial intention was to wash it here so that she could wear it the next day, she could hang it near the tent, so Elara thought.
Elara intends to chase after her washed-up clothes, but Shane prevents her.
"No, you can still wear my other clothes later. Isn't that shirt torn?"
Should Elara tell Shane that her underwear is also drifting? So what Elara needs is not just a change of clothes that Shane intended?
"But ..."
"Alright, Lara. Your condition is not good for chasing those clothes. Aren't you afraid of drifting again?"
Elara finally nodded, even so in her heart again cursed, because of her carelessness she would miss the next few days without using underwear.
Shane started taking off his shirt. He will immediately take a shower, he did not know if when he saw that Elara threw away her face because she had witnessed the biceps muscles of the man. Elara's face reddened, she decided to clean up by turning her back to Shane's position.
"How much longer do I have to be stuck alone with her? Oh, my goodness ..." Elara muttered and grumbled to herself.
Shane sees Elara wetting her hair.
"Can you?"
Suddenly Shane was not far behind the back of Elara who had deliberately turned her back.
"Don't come any closer, Shane."
"Why?" Shane asked but did not stop his steps which further slashed their distance. Shane is now completely behind Elara's back.
"You're not wearing clothes!" elara protest bluntly.
Shane chuckled, so he knew why Elara had turned her back like this.
"I thought you took this position because you asked me to help you wet your hair."
"Mirhane?" Elara finally turned to Shane to give a look of protest at the man's words.
Shane laughed lightly. "Have you always been like this?" tanyakanya.
"What is this like?"
"Always funny." Shane stared at the two balls of Elara's eyes in turn.
"I'm not a comedian, Shane!" knock the girl over and Shane blows his laugh again.
"Wand, or do you want me to bathe you?"
"You are!" Elara clucked her tongue, she could already judge if this helper man was a man who was good at joking. "Stay away, give me some distance so I can clean myself up freely."
"You sure? Don't you need my help?" teased the man again, he was twitching his eyes now.
"No, I can do it myself, Shane." Elara chose to take Shane seriously so that he could relax his shoulders and then completely move away from Elara.
A few minutes into cleaning herself up, Elara finally finished and climbed to the outskirts. He saw Shane was still cool playing water and occasionally sitting on the rocks in the middle of the river ramps.
Just a few minutes later, Elara suddenly felt something.
"Don!!!" And the girl screeched shouting at the name of Shane who was shocked upon hearing it.
