NEW HOUSE

That day was the happiest day of my life. Because of God, once again entrusts me to protect His creation in my womb.

"You are so happy, Mrs Stevano," said Daffin, who was next to me.

The corner of my eye glanced at him sharply. "You think?"

"You're so happy, and so am I." Daffin's hand stretched out to touch mine, but I quickly dodged.

We just got out of the hospital because after we returned to xx city I insisted on asking Daffin to take me to check if I was really pregnant.

A few moments before...

"You're not sure about Aunt Ratih?" daffin asked, both of his eyebrows swooped sharply when he heard my request.

Aunty Ratih is a midwife, but she has not done her job for a long time because of the busy care of the orphanage inherited by her grandmother.

"I believe! But I just want to make sure that I'm just having a bad dream!" my murmur, without seeing Daffin's face.

"We're going to the hospital, Shaka! It seems that Madame Stevano is already impatient to see junior Stevano," Daffin told Shaka, who was driving without a sound.

Flashback...

And so finally, the doctor declared that I was pregnant. I was quite happy to hear it, but I also could not hide my disappointment because the child I was carrying right now was the result of the deed of that damned Johnny.

"Daffin, where is this?" I asked, when Daffin's luxury car entered the yard of a house that I did not recognize.

"You asked me to buy a new house. Do you remember?" Daffin's bead looked at me with warmth.

I could not hold back his charm until I chose to turn my eyes to the house we had just come to.

"No! I don't remember anything about you!" when I opened the car door.

The house in front of me is bigger than the one that Reena used to live in right across from me. The architecture of this house is also very different from the previous Daffin house. Although large, this house does not look striking and is filled with warmth when entering it.

My footsteps led me to enter that minimalist home. I climbed the stairs before reaching the main door and in a small pond with small fish swimming around as if dancing to greet me. Unknowingly, a thin smile was drawn at the corner on my lips.

"I'm glad you like this house" said Daffin, who suddenly appeared behind me.

"I had to!" my cynicism, then continued my steps to enter our new home.

The beauty of this house made me fall asleep to not realize that there was someone waiting for me at the door.

"Welcome home, Ayasya!" maya cheers with a happy face.

If I had not known the truth about her and who I really was, I would have been very happy and rushed to embrace her.

"Thank you" I said coldly as I passed the tiny body of Maya standing in the doorway.

I even let Maya's hands hang in the air when she was about to hug me.

"May." Daffin who was behind me in my place filled Maya's embrace.

From inside the house I saw how Maya hugged Daffin so tightly. They are like a mother and daughter who love each other.

"You threw away your daughter to love someone else's child" I murmured softly with tears that instantly dripped down my cheeks.

"You crying?" daffin asked worriedly, I didn't see him come in just now.

"No!" I said, I quickly wiped my tears.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Daffin held my hand, and used his own hand to wipe away my tears.

"Maybe Ayasya was too happy that she shed tears. Don't you think, Ayasya?" ask Maya gently.

I snorted at Maya's question. "Not really!"

After answering Maya cynically, I passed by and continued my steps to study my new cage.

"Wherever my feet want to go!" I replied, no less loud than the voice of Daffin.

"Come, I'll take you!" Daffin extended his hand to me.

My hands are outstretched, but not to welcome Daffin's hand. Except to shake his big hand. "I can walk alone."

"Alright," replied Daffin resignedly.

My steps and Daffin go hand in hand to make a simple sound.

"Daffin?" call me, break the silence.

"Hemm ...," Daffin replied without turning his head.

"Will he stay here?" ambiguous ask.

"Him?" Again Daffin's eyebrows swooped sharply.

I was upset because I had to say his name. "May!"

"Oh, why? Don't you like Maya? I saw you quite familiar with him at your first meeting." said Daffin, giving an assessment of what he had seen.

"No, I just ...."

"If you don't want Maya here, I'll ask her to stay somewhere else" Daffin said.

"Elsewhere? Why doesn't he live with his family?" manya curious.

Daffin's breath sounded heavy. "Because I've divorced Reena, and Maya has to bear the consequences."

"Affect?" I asked, still do not understand Daffin's speech.

"They drove Maya away" said Daffin, full of regret.

Holy hooch! I was shocked to see the fate of the woman who had dumped me. She could not even live happily despite having thrown away her own daughter or could it be that this was a reply from God for her for having let me grow up without a mother and father figure.

"Then?" I asked indifferently, trying to hide something that felt so hurtful to my heart.

"Maya has no one in this world, except me. So, can Maya stay here with us?" Both of Daffin's hands grabbed my hands and held them tightly.

"This is your house. I have no right whatsoever to forbid anyone to come and go to this house at any time." hardikku, reluctant to answer Daffin's question.

"No, Mrs Stevano! This house is yours. You can do anything in this house as you please." debunk Daffin.

"Including prohibiting anyone from coming here?" my question is, affirming Daffin's statement.

"Sure! As you wish." replied Daffin surely.

"Then, I want Maya to get out of here." I asked, without even blinking.

I could see how shocked Daffin was even though he was trying to cover it up. "But, Ayasya ...."

Lookie! She even mentioned my name when she had never mentioned my name before and just called me Stevano.

"I was expecting it. You won't really follow my wishes because I'm not that special in your eyes!" my lontar is full of frustration.

And just as I was about to step up to leave Daffin still, glued, I suddenly felt Daffin's hand holding my arm.

"All right, come with me! Come on, let's ask Maya to get out of here! As you wish."
