"Don't look at me like that!"
My hand floated to Daffin's shoulder. Bule Daffin's face grimaced in pain as if my little hand had hurt his big muscles.
"You're so confused, My Starfish. You hugged me before and showered me with love, but now you're acting like I'm a stranger to you!" lamented Daffin, his face seemed to hold in anger.
I'm ashamed! Really, I wanted to say that to him. However, my pride was so high that my lips locked tightly.
I took a deep breath and looked out the car window. The path we began to explore as soon as the nameplate of the village where I grew up was visible. Yes, Daffin finally gave up and took me to meet Aunt Ratih in Erlan's hometown. There's not much I've prepared, other than my heart. Today, I will let go of everything about Erlan's sister as well as the past we spent together.
The silence filled my long journey with Daffin. She just kept complaining because I ignored her after I returned her expression of love. Either it's just my feeling or Daffin's been a little fussy lately.
"Mrs Stevano ..," whined Daffin.
When I turned my head, I saw Daffin was a little agitated. "What's up, Daffin? You're a travel drunk?"
"You think I'm a villager! I'm used to going on business trips everywhere." Daffin.
"Then?" My eyebrows shot up, demanding Daffin's explanation.
Daffin grunts. "Speak to me! You ignored me before we even got to the Kencana house. What are you gonna do to me if we get there?"
Whahuh? Turns out that's what's in Daffin's big brain. Since when did he get so spoiled and whine so often?
"You're overreacting, Daffin, I just .. just don't know what to talk about. After all, I was too nervous to meet Aunt Ratih. I'm afraid she'll get angry or maybe not want to see my face again." My lips twitched, imagining everything I said.
Daffin's big hand grabbed my head and rested it on his chest. "That's not gonna happen. I promise!"

It seemed, I had slept long enough because when I opened my eyes, the grandmother's orphanage was already visible in front of my eyes.
I blinked my eyes repeatedly, and saw Daffin staring blankly out of the car. His gaze was straight forward, where there was an ancient building that bore silent witness to my childhood life.
"Daffin ...," call me as I touch Daffin's cheek.
The blue eyes turned to look at me. "You awake?"
"Why didn't you wake me?" I then turned back and straightened my body.
"You look so tired, Mrs Stevano, I just don't want to disturb your sweet dreams." Daffin peaked the top of my head.
I cut my clothes and hair before I got out of the car. Don't forget I brought all the documents of Erlan's sister that I will hand over to Aunt Ratih.
"Come on!" take Daffin, grab my hand and hold it.
My heart suddenly hesitated. "Daffin, won't Aunt Ratih be angry? I'm scared."
Daffin's sensual lips exudes a smile. "No one would dare hurt Daffin Miyaz Stevano's wife."
Ah, what is this? My heart feels warm, but my face feels like it's on fire. I feel like a hot air balloon ready to fly.
In order to save myself from embarrassment, I rushed out of the car and left Daffin. Daffin soon caught up with me and flanked my hand. We stepped together into the orphanage grounds. As usual, the orphanage children rushed over to hug me, but Daffin blocked them with his big hands.
"Sorry, kids, please don't hug her!" daffin Pinta.
"Why? We always hug Mr. Aca every time we meet." chirped one of the children.
Daffin squatted down and rubbed the boy's hair. "You see! Brother Aca you are carrying my son in his stomach. I just don't want him kicking you guys for feeling claustrophobic."
The sight of the children was now focused on my large stomach. They all looked astonished and confused, but it did not last long because Aunt Ratih had come out and asked them all to go inside.
"Wait on! I brought you guys a present. Come on, come with me!" exclaim Daffin, then bring the orphanage children to the car.
Seeing Daffin quickly get along with the orphanage children, made me believe that he was ready to become a father.
"Aca, how are you?" tanya Aunt Ratih then hugged me.
I spread my hand to return Aunt Ratih's embrace. "Good read, Tan, how's it going om and Auntie?"
Aunt Ratih let go of her embrace and smiled warmly. "We're all good, Aca. Aunt misses very much. Why didn't Aca ever call Auntie?"
How do I contact you, Tan? I was too busy with the puzzles of my past and also the intricacies of my household.
"Sorry, Tan," I cried with tears that were about to fall.
"Easy! Come, in!" bring aunt Ratih.
I entered the living room of the grandmother's orphanage and sat down beside Aunt Ratih. Aunt Ratih's face looks tired, maybe because he is busy taking care of the children of the home alone.
"Where is Ram, Tan?" ask me with a look around.
"Om going to work, he's back soon, too" replied his aunt Ratih and stood up. "At any moment, Auntie will make a drink for Aca and Mr. Stevano" he said.
I held Aunt Ratih's hand. "No need, Tan, please sit down! Something I want to tell Auntie."
Although it looks doubtful, but Aunt Ratih still follow my wishes. "All right!"
Oxygen as much as I can breathe to increase courage and also my breath that hunts because it is so worried about the reaction of Aunt Ratih.
I put the documents I brought on the table and looked at Aunt Ratih. "Tan, these are all important documents of Erlan's brother's legacy. Aca left everything to Auntie and also Om."
"But Aca was remarried, Tan, and again Erlan's two older sons were gone. Aca has no rights whatsoever to his property, Erlan. I think it would be better if all this was given to aunty to help the needs of the children." I pushed the document closer to Aunt Ratih.
"But, Aca"
I interrupted Aunt Ratih's words. "Tan, Brother Erlan is a good man. I want everyone to remember the kindness left behind by him. Let brother Erlan stay in everyone's heart, but I'm sorry that Aca can't accept all that."
The breath of Aunt Ratih was so clearly heard, after the tears that flooded her eyes.
"Tan ...," I tried to touch Aunt Ratih's hand.
Aunt Ratih's gaze rose and looked at me. "Erlan loved and protected you so much, Aca. She must be happy to see you've lived happily now."
"happy?" my question is, I don't understand what Aunt Ratih means.
Thin smiles adorn the face of Aunt Ratih who is still wet by tears. "Yes, Mr. Stevano has told everyone that Aca has met with both of Aca's biological parents and you two will also be getting married again soon."
When did Daffin say it? Maybe before we came here? That means she expected that I would ask to come to Grandma's orphanage.
"Come, Tan, Aca is still hesitant." I looked towards the direction where Daffin was laughing with the children.
I felt Aunt Ratih's hand touch mine. "Mr Stevano is a good man. Yes, although initially Aunt misjudged herself. Believe that! He was the man God sent as Erlan's replacement. If destiny wants you to be together, then nothing can separate you from yourself."
The words of Aunt Ratih touched the deepest recesses of my heart so I kept staring at Daffin until the man noticed it and came up to me.
"You done yet?" ask Daffin.
I looked at the girl in Daffin's car. "What's your name?"
"Daffin Miyaz Stevano" replied Daffin, his face looking adorable.
I'm clucking. "Not you, but this beautiful boy."
"Why? You want to betroth him to our unborn son? Heh!" insist Daffin.
"No, Daffin, I'm just asking you a prank." my dear, because my intentions have been read by Daffin.
"Listen, Mrs Stevano, never force the future of our son. Let him decide his own path. And we just need to lead him down the right path." Daffin growled until his jaw tightened.
"No, Daffin! I-i promise. Our son will have his own future, except in urgent circumstances." I smiled nosily.
Daffin's face was perfect. Really, her face like that made me anxious and wanted to pinch her cheeks.
"Son? Your boy, Aca?" tanya aunt Ratih broke the silence.
"Yes, Tan, please pray for Aca and the baby in the womb!" my door.
Aunt Ratih's eyes are glazed. "Always, Aca! You and Erlan are like Auntie's own kids. Aca deserves to be happy and enjoy what should belong to Aca. Aunty will pray for Aca from here. Stay happy and smile wherever you are!"

The sound of waves hitting the reef is so soothing to the ears. The soft white sand and the blue sky and the cool breeze swept across my face as if I knew that my heart was happy.
I did leave my past behind, but I did not let go of any ties with the Kencana family. They're going to be my family forever and I'm lucky that Daffin can accept that.
"They've been taking care of you all this time. If there were no one, we would never meet. No problem, I can accept everyone who has contributed to your life as long as they don't try to take you away from me."
Yes, even though it's an affirmation of Daffin's possession or possessiveness, but I'm quite grateful that all of this ended happily.
"Daffin, come here!" call me to Daffin who's playing his phone.
Daffin smiled and approached me. "I'm coming, Mrs Stevano."
My eyes are peeking at Daffin who looks sumringah. "Why are you so happy? Did you just see a pretty girl?"
"Yes!" Daffin nodded his head. "She's very pretty, like a mermaid in a fairy tale. You want to see her, Mrs Stevano?" tanyakanya.
Daffin really pissed me off when he pulled out his phone and tried to show me something.
"Look! This woman is so beautiful that my heart trembles when I see her. It felt like the whole world stopped turning as he smiled. And the look in his eyes -"
My heart burned in jealousy hearing Daffin praise the other woman before me. He also took pictures of other women on his cell phone.
I snatched the phone in Daffin's hand and saw which woman had made Daffin turn away from me.
"This ...," My tongue complained when I saw that I was the woman Daffin was talking about.
I didn't realize when Daffin took my picture so I misunderstood him.
Daffin took the phone in my hand and put it away and in one fell swoop, Daffin lifted my body. "You! You're a woman who can shake my heart and change my world, Lily Yovela Stevano."
