"really. You're no longer useful!"
Reena took off the glasses perched on her nose. The look in his eyes on me had changed, not as warm as it used to be when I first entered his house. I wonder in my heart, which one is the real sister of Reena? Which mask did he show me?
"I don't think there's a woman as humble as you, Mrs Stevano."
Although I could not scream when I said that, but I said it with great emphasis so that Brother Reena realized how much I hated her right now.
Brother Reena stepped up to approach me with a smile adorning her face. But his eyes said something different. I saw the burning anger in his eyes at me, but shouldn't I be the one who should be mad at him? Those haughty people seemed to have no thoughts at all.
"I'm just humbling myself, Ayasya. I can stand up and show you how tall I am and how far apart we are."
I laughed at Reena's words. "You are tall, Mrs Stevano, but you will always bow before me as you are doing right now."
It's true what I said. Reena slightly lowered her head as she was talking to me, and when she realized what I was saying was the truth, Reena's sister immediately raised her head like a goose.
"Hope will consume all that you have and greed will keep you from what you dream of."
Reena looked back and looked at me. "You!"
Reena's one forefinger pointed at my face because she didn't accept what I had just said, but Daffin grabbed the finger and brushed it away.
"So your attitude, Ree! I've followed all your wishes, but you haven't changed. Don't test my patience again!" snapped Daffin, I've never seen him that hard on Reena's sister before.
Reena's big-eye bead stared intently at Daffin then moved to look at me. "It's all your fault! If only you hadn't acted, the three of us would have benefited together."
I snorted in annoyance. "Advantage? What advantage are you talking about? I'm the one who's at the most disadvantage in this, not you!!!"
I couldn't control my emotions until I got out of control and screamed. It instantly triggered a huge pain in my stomach, making me grimace withstanding the pain.
Unexpectedly, Daffin immediately approached me and gently rubbed my head. "What's wrong? Which part hurts?"
"What are you doing, Daff? Get your hands off her!" reena's brother shouted, he pulled Daffin's hand. "There's no more business between you and her." insisted Reena again.
"You're wrong, Ree! The bond between me and him is still there, because I will never let go." Daffin.
Daffin's words made me and Reena's sister both shocked. For a moment I forgot the pain that had attacked him, but I immediately realized when Reena's brother suddenly slapped Daffin.
PLAQUE!!!
The haughty eyes of Reena's sister now shed tears. The face that had been looking up was now looking down in embarrassment. What a comforting sight to me, if only I had not been lying helplessly like this.
"You hurt me, Daff. You hurt me!" Reena continued muttering with a very pitiful face until her shadow disappeared behind the door without me noticing.
***
"Come, open your eyes! You have to live, if you want to know the truth." Daffin's voice sounded very far away and so heartbreaking.
I slowly opened my eyes, and again I saw Daffin holding my hand. The difference this time was that he was not asleep, but his eyes looked so sad.
I wanted to pull my hand and let go of the contact between me and her. However, my body was so weak and helpless. I just stared at him, waiting for Daffin to realize that I had opened my eyes.
"You're back!" daffin cried when our sight met. "Thank's, God!" he said, then grabbed my body.
My body is so weak that even to speak I am incapable. Maybe this was not only because of the miscarriage I had, but also because my mind was depressed and so tormented. If Daffin hadn't held me back, I wouldn't have come back.
Suddenly, I returned to the place where I met Brother Erlan and our two children. However, I don't see Erlan's figure anywhere. I only saw a light so bright and called my name.
"Geez!"
Unlike the previous one, this time my legs felt very light even I felt like I was floating. The strange light drew closer to me until I felt something holding me back.
"Don't go! I love you." said Daffin, the look in his eyes pity me. And this is the second time he's said he loves me.
"There is no love between us, only drama and falsehood. I want to go, Daffin. I don't have any reason to go back."
I turned around and left Daffin, but again he held me back by wrapping his hands around my waist.
"Make me an excuse for you to come back" said Daffin, half whispering in my ear.
Flashback...
I kept staring at Daffin, damn what he said in that strange dream kept ringing in my ear. Many questions flashed through my head, but none of them could be answered.
'Is it true that he loves me? No!!! That's not possible unless the sea water dries up.'
"What are you thinking?" asked Daffin, the way he spoke to me was so gentle. "You scared me. Don't even think about leaving me, okay?" doors later.
God, what else is this? Is he making a new show? I find it hard to tell which one he really is.
I wanted to say many things and also curse Daffin as I pleased, but unfortunately I was so weak that I was unable to say a single word.
CUPS...
One inevitable kiss landed on my forehead. "Thank you for coming back."
A happy smile was on Daffin's face, but not mine. I was very angry with his attitude towards me. He thinks I'm back to forgive him.
'You're wrong, Daffin! I came back to bring back the suffering you gave me.'
