"Really! I want the man who shot Shaka to be caught, Maya, he has to pay for what he did to my friend" Daffin said.

A flash of anger mixed with sadness was clearly visible from the look of Daffin's eyes. I know he is trying to stay strong in front of me, so I will try to be mature for now and get rid of all my ego in order to accompany Daffin in his difficult times.

"I understand, Daffin." Mom smiled warmly. "They're waiting for you downstairs" said the mother with her index finger pointing out of the room.

I hooked my fingers on Daffin's fingers. "Then, come on, let's meet them!"

Daffin's hand hooks got tighter on my finger when we got to the living room. He didn't think of my hand that felt like my bones would crumble because of it.

"Why are you here?" asked Daffin cynically, his eyes stared intently at the figure of Ersya who was now facing us.

Ersya smiled at me. "I came because you called me, Mr. Stevano."

"I never called you!" hardik Daffin, his tone began to rise.

"You called Detective Penny to solve your case, and I'm the police chief of this town. So, inevitably I have to be involved in your case, Mr. Stevano." Ersya reviewed the sinister smile on her face.

My gaze was focused on the beautiful woman who was beside Ersya. She is very beautiful and also looks so calm. I thought, could it be that she is the woman who has filled Ersya's heart?

"Who is this beautiful woman, brother? Is she your lover?" I asked as I pointed at the woman with my tail.

The woman smiled and extended her hand to me. "Me, I'm Penny Patterson. Mr. Stevano called me to help him solve the assault case against him, madam."

I welcome the detective's hand. "Is that? Ah, I'm sorry I thought you were Ersya's lover. I'm Lily Stevano."

Ersya and Detective Penny looked at each other and laughed, making me feel like someone who had just done something stupid.

In the middle of our conversation, Rania suddenly entered and served drinks and snacks. She also brought me pregnant milk.

"I don't need to search because that woman is already in front of me" Ersya said, drawing everyone's attention.

"Don't think you can take Stevanoku's mistress!" sergeant Daffin, he's getting his hands tightened.

Ersya's laughter instantly gushed out. He shook his head then picked up the drink that Rania had just put down.

"I'm sorry, ma'am" said Rania nervously and then returned to the kitchen.

What happened to Rania? Was he nervous because of Ersya's words? Could it be Ersya and Rania? But Rania loves Shaka isn't she? Is it because Shaka is in a coma? No way! Rania is not that kind of girl.

"What are you thinking?" whispered Daffin, making me blink.

I smiled stiffly when I realized that Detective Penny and Ersya were also looking at me. "Nothing! I was just thinking about who had dared to attack my husband? Do you know who did it, Detective Penny?"

Detective Penny's face looks bright. He pulled out a document from his bag and also a laptop.

"This matter is not so complicated, sir, Madam, the culprit is either very careless or it may also be the first time he has committed a crime like this." Detective Penny turned on her laptop and showed her CCTV footage. "You see! This is the woman who shot Mr. Shaka." point it out.

My gaze was focused on the laptop screen that had just been swiveled facing me. Instantly my eyes were perfectly rounded and immediately turned to look at Daffin who did not react in the slightest.

"Daffin, isn't she Reena's mother?" I just can't believe it.

"Really! I didn't expect him to have planned an attack on me." Daffin tightened his jaw until it stiffened.

"I'm sorry, sir, but you're wrong! It wasn't that woman who planned the assault on you." Detective Penny pushes the evidence on the table closer to Daffin. "The woman in this portrait has paid the criminals to attack you. Unfortunately, I suspect he did not know if anyone else was following the criminals when the incident happened" he explained.

My head started to feel dizzy, but I was so curious about what was hidden behind the attack on Daffin and Shaka. I glanced at Ersya who looked so serious paying attention to Detective Penny's explanation, her eyes not even blinking.

"Dam!!!" furious at Daffin, his hand squeezed one of the portraits on the table.

I stared alternately at Daffin, Ersya, and also Detective Penny. "Please explain it to me! What does all this mean? So, who did it? Reena or her mother?"

"Both, Madam!" answer detective Penny.

My mouth was gaping, but I hadn't had a chance to make a sound yet, Detective Penny had already added to my shock.

"Mrs Reena did plan an attack on Mr. Stevano, but my search and my team found out that the money she used to pay the criminals came from Mr. Stevano's account." Detective Penny handed me a piece of paper. "It seems he didn't mean to hurt Mr. Stevano because after I had observed Mr. CCP and Mr. Stevano's car, all of the bullets fired just went to the body of the car. Like a bluff." obviously.

My hands trembled reading the nominal Reena took out to pay for the criminal who was going to hurt my husband. And my emotions grew when I realized that Daffin was still giving money to the female octopus, but I promised myself that I would be an adult. I feel tightness in my chest. It felt like there was a black cloud that was ready to bring down the rainstorm there. My feelings are really mixed right now. I can't take it anymore. I want to cry.

"I'm sorry, Detective Penny, I have to rest because this pregnancy makes me tired quickly." I forced my smile as I stood up and extended my hand. "Thank you for your help. Nice to meet you, Detective Penny." I said.

Detective Penny smiled and welcomed my hand. "Together, ma'am, I'm also glad to meet you."

"I'll drive you." Daffin stood up and touched my shoulder, but I immediately brushed him off.

You idiot! I forgot my own promise. Immediately I grabbed Daffin's hand and smiled.

"No need, Daffin, you have to finish all your business here. You also have to punish the people who hurt Shaka. If you really want to do it!" sindirku, confirmed the last sentence then rushed to return to my room.

Just as I was walking a few steps, Rania came out of the kitchen with mom and came to me.

I slammed the bathroom door and locked it from the inside. My body leaned against the door and slowly descended to the floor until I felt like I was losing my life.

Tears fell to represent my disappointment in all that Daffin had been hiding and sadly it happened when I realized how much I loved him.
