"Congratulations! Your charm has successfully melted the iceberg in his heart!"
The look in Daffin's eyes and the grin on his face somehow broke my heart. I saw doubt in his eyes. Does he doubt my love? Or is he doubting my loyalty?
Yeah, it's true I thought about leaving him, but that was it. Back then when he was still torturing my mind. When I thought I was just a concubine. When I thought this marriage was just a fake. And when I thought that marrying Ersya would be much happier than living in her golden cage. But now all those thoughts are gone.
If Daffin thinks I'm happy knowing how Shaka feels about me. He's wrong! I'm sad. Sad that I should have made Shaka love Rania, not me.
"Tap-But I think you like Reena ...," I said stammeringly, my messed-up thoughts made my tongue moan.
Shaka's gaze was down. I could see her legs shaking from the pain, but she was reluctant to make a sound.
Daffin was already in front of me when I intended to get close to Shaka. "The truth is, you're more attention-grabbing than Reena."
I looked up and looked at Daffin. The look on his face was mixed between sad and angry, in the season of disappointment for sure.
My breath felt so heavy as Daffin's face got closer to mine. "Maybe he's mistaken, Daffin!"
Aye, right! Maybe Shaka was wrong. Just like Ersya who mistakenly interpreted her sense of irritation towards Erlan's brother as her love for me.
"I hope so." Daffin started again with his madness.
Her breathing was hot when it hit my face. I also felt that something was burning between us, but I didn't know what it was.
"Shaka, go! I have to finish this with my husband. Don't ever come in and don't let anyone in here before we get out!" my word, be aware of Daffin's changing attitude.
Gradually, I began to understand Daffin. He would do strange things that he referred to as "punishment" to me. And I'm pretty sure that he'll do that again in front of Shaka because right now Shaka is the one who's been stirring up his emotions.
I glanced at Shaka from the corner of my eye and saw him hesitating a bit to step up.
"Daffin won't hurt me, but I'm not sure he won't hurt you."

After Shaka's departure, Daffin really did what was on my mind. He vented all his anger on me. His treatment to me right now I can't understand. The jealousy I could see in his eyes was so great, but I could not believe Daffin had forgotten his son's whereabouts if only he had not felt his son's kick in my stomach.
Daffin's body jerks. "Mrs Stevano, your stomach ...."
"That's your son." I smiled in exhaustion.
Daffin stopped his activity and kissed my growing belly. I saw her shedding tears and whispering something in my stomach.
I don't know what he said to my son, but I felt the kick in my stomach getting stronger as if the baby in my stomach understood his father's words.
"I'm sorry, Mrs Stevano." Daffin grabbed my body. "I shouldn't have made you an outlet of my anger." he said.
My hands were round, returning Daffin's embrace. "I'm used to it."
Daffin chuckled and to be honest it gave me some relief in my heart. At least for now he is not controlled by anger so we can talk carefully with Shaka later.

Until nightfall, Daffin and I just walked out of his study. We had to face the probing gazes of father and mother, as well as daddy David who had been waiting for us since noon.
"Good night, everyone," said Daffin, he pulled a chair for me.
"I thought you were going to hibernate for a week in there" daddy David slurried as he pointed towards Daffin's study.
Laughter gushed from Daffin's lips. "I'll do it if Madame Stevano has given birth."
I snorted annoyedly with wide eyes. "Maniac!"
Daddy David and Dad just laughed until they were spinning, while Mom just blushed in shame because of my words.
"Well, it seems my wife has a knack for being a comedian" joked Daffin, after her hand who wanted to put a spoonful of rice in my mouth.
"It's down from my nature!" throw daddy and instantly answered the head by mom.
"The truth is, that stubbornness and coldness are down from you, Reyno!" deny mother.
We all laughed because of mother's words, until daddy David asked Shaka's whereabouts that immediately changed the atmosphere.
"Where, Shaka? Why isn't he here?" daddy David asked, his gaze sweeping across the room.
"He was contemplating" replied Daffin.
"Stop looking at me, Dad!" sergeant Daffin, after a long time in the face of daddy David.
"Then, say it! What made you fight this time?" ask daddy David, his tone is like a father who is advising his son for quarreling with his sister.
Uhuk ...
I immediately choked when daddy David asked me that because I was the answer to his question. I made Daffin fight with Shaka.
"Mrs Stevano ..," Daffin immediately stood up and patted my shoulder. "Be careful!" said it.
I handed her a glass of water. "Drink first, baby!"
"It's all your fault, Dad!" accuse Daffin, make daddy David surprised. "Don't talk about things like that when you're eating!" he added.
David put both his hands into the air. "All right, I'm sorry!"
I smiled after feeling better. "No problem, Daddy, I'm just surprised by Daddy's question."
"Why? You don't know if Daffin and Shaka fight a lot?" dad David asked, curious about Daffin's openness to me apparently.
I shook my head. "No, Dad! All I know is that Shaka just obeyed Daffin's wishes in silence."
"That's right! But Shaka always liked what Daffin liked and it was always their problem because Daffin never wanted to share." throw daddy David.
I realized one thing, that means Shaka doesn't love me. He only likes me because Daffin likes me so much.

The next day, early in the morning I asked Shaka to come. I called her by phone because I didn't want Daffin to think that I was responding to Shaka's feelings towards me.
I heard a knock on the door when Daffin was drying my hair.
"Who's coming?" muttered Daffin, he again put the hairdryer on the table and opened the door. "You!!!" snapped it.
I immediately stood up and saw Shaka bowing to me. "Good morning, Madam,"
"Morning, Shaka! Come inside!" my broom, ignoring Daffin's irritated face.
Unexpectedly, Daffin lifted my body and sat me on his lap. He also kept staring intently at Shaka, just like the children who were frightened if his friend snatched his toy.
I cleared my throat to open my throat. "Shaka, I want to hear clearly from you about how you feel about me."
"Don't say anything! I don't want to hear it." Daffin turned his face away.
Both of my hands covered Daffin's ears, then looked back at Shaka. "Say, Shaka! How could you like me? I thought you liked Reena because you always defended her."
"I'm sorry, ma'am, I don't know how that feeling comes, but I made a compromise with Ms. Reena because she promised not to hurt you" Shaka explained.
"That means Reena already knows if you have feelings for me?" ask me with both eyebrows that swooped sharply.
"Yes, Madam," answered Shaka listlessly. "Mrs Reena threatened me if she would say about my feelings to the master if I didn't comply, but unfortunately the master already knew even though I tried to shut her down tightly" he explained.
I can't believe a man as strong as Shaka could be threatened by that female octopus! Surely Reena has something else.
"You think you can fool me? I'm not blind, Shaka!" sergeant Daffin, I can feel his anxiety.
"I know, sir, that's why I decided not to comply with Miss Reena's wishes anymore" Shaka replied.
Daffin grunts. "of course! Because you've been caught by me."
"No, sir, I'll try to give up my feelings for the mistress." Shaka refuted, but I saw something in her eyes.
That fast? I just wish it wouldn't be a time bomb to me and my family.
