The tears kept flowing soaking up the green-covered diary that was on my lap. Not much is written there, there are only a few poems and also the outpouring of the heart of the book owner.
Life ...
Is it life? I don't know!
And love ...
I wish I never knew him!
Living for love or love to live, has never been the cornerstone of my life!
For me to live is just the breath my master breathes ...
And for me love is Ayasya ...
Shaka, Si Anak Jalanan^^^
The more I read it, the more tears flow. So much respect Shaka has for Daffin, and so deep is Shaka's love for me. It feels like me and Daffin are two of the most selfish people in life. We never considered Shaka's happiness though. In her silence, Shaka harbors a lot of suffering that only she can swallow herself.
Flashback ...
After Shaka's funeral procession was over, Rania approached me and gave me a book that was quite foreign to me.
"What book is this, Rania?" many confused.
Rania's face that was swollen from crying too much also commented a thin smile. "Mrs, Mr. Shaka asked me to give this to you as your birthday gift."
"you mean? When did Shaka give it to her? Hasn't Shaka been in a coma for more than a month? He only regained consciousness for a moment before his departure, didn't he?" I stormed Rania with a lot of questions.
"Yes, Madam! Mr. Shaka gave it to her as she regained consciousness from her coma. Mr. Shaka said to take this book and give it to you shortly after he regained consciousness." Rania's eyes were back in tears. "Mr Shaka had written something on the last page of the book with the help of a nurse. He refused when I offered to help him." - She wrote.
I stared at the book in my hand. Like a storm, my curiosity suddenly appeared and invaded my mind. What is written in this book? Why would Shaka call it a birthday present for me? I wonder what this book is so special to Shaka.
Before I ran into the bedroom, I glanced at Daffin's study. The door was still tightly closed, still the same as when we got back. To this day, father allowed me to return to the Daffin house I once occupied. Given how devastated Daffin was at the funeral. Daffin still locked himself in there by himself, he didn't even allow me to accompany him. Although I was disappointed, but I tried to understand Daffin's feelings. It must have been hard for him to lose Shaka. Never mind him, I myself was quite hit with the departure of the canoebo man who had always been the months of my frown.
I looked at Rania. "If Daffin is looking for me, call me right away! I'll go to the room for a minute."
"Alright, Madam," Rania replied as she nodded.
My footsteps were quick and led me into the room. Without hesitation I opened the book that Rania gave me. Sheet by sheet I read, and on each sheet I was so swept away by the words Shaka spilled on the pen.
Flashback off ...
My hand flipped the last page of Shaka's diary. This time, it was not a poem written there, but rather a confession or perhaps an explanation.
"This book is not just for me, it's for Daffin!" then I walked out of the room.
When I got to the front of Daffin's office, the door was already a little open. Apparently, daddy David was already inside with Daffin who was still roaring crying over Shaka's departure.
"He's a coward, Dad! He did not dare to face me! That's why he went to see God for protection." Daffin rested his head on the sofa, while his big hands covered his face.
I stepped in doubt as daddy David waved his hand to ask me to come in. At first I intended to leave because I didn't want to bother Daffin. However, it seems like daddy David wants the opposite.
"Come, Lily! Your baby bear needs you." Daddy David pointed at Daffin who had just opened his eyes to look at me.
"Mrs Stevano?" Daffin straightened his body and wiped away his tears. "Come here!" her door.
I complied and sat down next to Daffin who looked reluctant to look at me for a long time. Maybe she was embarrassed by her adorable face.
"Sorry, Mrs Stevano, I don't mean to forget you!" daffin lirih.
I grinned. "But you did it, Daffin!"
Daffin's eyes widened when he looked at me. "No, Mrs Stevano! I can't forget you."
Daffin rushes in despair and grabs my hand. "I'm sorry, My Starfish! You and our son must be disappointed to have a husband and father like me."
"Prospective husband!" firm daddy David, making me and Daffin immediately stunned.
"Dad, please ...," Daffin pleaded with a face so clear. "I just need Mrs Stevano, not old master Stevano!" insinuations.
Although it looks a little upset, but daddy David still follow Daffin's desire to let us alone.
As soon as daddy David left, Daffin grabbed me in his arms. This time he did not cry, but just hugged me tightly and kissed the top of my head.
"Never leave me, Mrs Stevano! I won't be able to lose it again."
Only that line kept coming out of Daffin's mouth as long as he hugged me and I just kept listening to him. I hope after this Daffin's feelings will get better.
For a long time I let Daffin murmur in obscurity until he finally fell asleep on my lap after tired of chatting with his son.
I stroked Daffin's hair. "You're so fragile, Daffin. And why have you been acting so spoiled towards me lately? You want to punish me or you want to replace me for being spoiled? Yeah, whatever it is .. I'll keep loving you until death do us part."
"Really?" Suddenly those blue eyes were looking at me sharply.
Daffin looked at me expectantly, like a child waiting for an answer from his mother. He kept looking at me without blinking.
"I think you're asleep," my dear, trying to switch the conversation.
Daffin clucked in annoyance. "That's not the answer! You know, I can't fall asleep because I'm afraid I'm gonna have a bad dream."
I understand Daffin hasn't been able to let Shaka go, but I can't allow him to continue like this.
"Daffin, I love you and love you so much." I looked at Daffin and rubbed my stomach. "Our son loves you a lot too. Rise up! I'm sure Shaka would also be sad to see his Great Lord weak like this."
Although initially hesitant, but Daffin still wake up and lean his body on the sofa. He stretched his arms to embrace me. Without waiting for any more orders, I went straight into Daffin's arms.
I showed Shaka's diary to Daffin. "Rania gave this book to me, Daffin, she said that Shaka gave it to her to tell me."
Daffin took the book and turned every page of it. "It turns out he still likes to make poetry."
"He's talented, Daffin," I said, flipping the diary's last page.
I didn't realize when Daffin's hand held me and turned the book over to the previous page, the page where Shaka mentioned my name.
"He really loves you, Mrs Stevano," said Daffin.
If before Daffin was always angry, but now he is covered with a deep feeling of guilt.
"Daffin, stop!" I cupped both of Daffin's cheeks. "Forgot that and think about our future! Shaka's already taken flying away his feelings for me."
Daffin looked at me for a moment then nodded. "You're right, Mrs Stevano!"
My hand turned back the last page Shaka wrote, and read it to Daffin.
"Mrs, please take care of master for me! I know, I've made the mistake of loving you and hurting your feelings. But Madam, I dare swear that never once did I intend to snatch you from master. And about Miss Reena, it was indeed my fault. I should have been able to prevent him from interfering with your life and master's. Not only because it is my responsibility, but because I am also supposed to keep the feelings of the woman I love. Now I realize that I can never be like you and only you deserve to be by your side."
Details of the clear liquid fell back on Shaka's diary and left small circles on the paper.
"Grand ...."
