FATHER'S CHOICE

The household I had built with Daffin on a compulsion made me never even think about how my father-in-law would react when he found out about my marriage to his son. All this time, I've only focused on Daffin and all his treatment of me. I forgot to consider the feelings of Daffin's father who never even saw my face, although we actually met at DS Corp's birthday party and I'm sure he wasn't aware of my presence at the time.

"There's no need to say anything, because I believe the fallen fruit is never far from the tree" she said softly after letting go of her embrace.

Really, I really didn't know what to say because I didn't expect that his father Daffin would accept me that easily even though he knew I was already the third person in his son's household.

I was embarrassed when Daffin's father looked at me. "Sorry, Om"

"Daddy!" sergeant Daffin's father, he stroked my hair gently. "Call me Daddy!" her door.

"But" I tried to turn him down, but his father Daffin insisted.

"There is no rejection! You've just become the Stevano family's son-in-law, but you've dared to reject me?" His tone made me flinch until I reacted a little by stepping back.

"Dad! You scared him!" hardik Daffin, he immediately grabbed my body and took me in his arms.

Daffin's dad clucked. "You're overreacting, Daff! I was just kidding him. I didn't think you'd be so protective of her."

"Not funny, Dad!" sergeant Daffin, when he heard the rancidity of his father's lips.

"Sorry! I just want to know how my new daughter-in-law is. Turns out she's pretty tough, evident from the many changes in you" said Daffin's father, then turned to look at Reena who was like a body to lose her life. "And you, go meet a director and play a role! You're very good at theatrics." he quipped.

"Dad, you misunderstood me! I just" Reena groaned, tears flooding her face.

"Never call me that again! That call is only for my son and daughter-in-law. I'm sorry to have believed you so much that my relationship with my son has been strained." said Daffin's father was full of emotion.

I looked up and saw the face of Daffin who had no reaction. He did not even flinch at all, but just stared intently at what was happening before him.

"Daffin?" my great-grandson, can't bear to see Reena getting cornered like that.

My heart breaks when I remember the beginning of my life, Reena was so good to me even though it turned out to be a charade. Especially when I found out that he was my brother. It feels like I'm so cruel to just watch him in a corner like a criminal.

Daffin tilted his head slightly to look at me. "Do you need anything?"

"Come, we're going!" take me, with a face. Don't want the guilt to go deeper into torturing me.

"All right." Daffin smiled warmly, then called out to Shaka. "Urus him! I'll take Mrs Stevano out." she said.

"Okay, sir," Shaka replied flatly.

I wish I was wrong, but I see a bit of sadness and disappointment so great in Shaka's eyes when he looks at Daffin. What's the matter? Did something happen and not be realized by Daffin? Because he seems to be unaware of it.

"Come, Dad!" daffin exclaimed as he stepped out with his hand still wrapped around my shoulder.

***

Two people who have loved each other for a long time are indeed so difficult to separate even though there are many problems that confront. Like a rock that remains solid even in the lunge of the waves thousands of times.

A deep and sincere love made my mother fall asleep with only one word of apology slid from the mouth of Mr. Kafeel, the man who clearly denied my presence also refused to trust the woman who had always loved and accompanied him all this time.

I was really upset when Daffin took me to the dugout and saw my mother leaning on the shoulder of Mr. Kafeel, her hands curled up in the arms of Kafel, who still looked burly despite her age.

In between her cries she said, "forget it, Reyno! Everything has passed, me and our daughter will give you a chance to live happily as we always dreamed."

The opportunity? Just dream you!!!

Actually, I've come here since and seen how much love my parents have. However, my hatred for the figure of the father who had rejected me would not be possible to be erased in just an instant.

Before my heart was shattered by Kafel's pitying face, I chose to continue in my footsteps even though Daffin's hand was holding me back.

"Let go, Daffin! Thisismylife. I don't want anyone else to think I'm weak." I'm on the verge of throwing Daffin's hand.

A few steps closer, I saw the figure of om Rei who was standing facing the large window that showed a row of skyscrapers. Both of his hands he tucked in his pants pocket. What a shame, considering how much love om Rei to mother.

"I'm sorry, ma'am, but I don't seem to have as much apology stock as you." I dropped my body on the sofa facing my mother.

A sad and heart-wrenching look was seen in the eyes of master Kafeel. This is what I feared, if I would easily forgive the man who had wasted my mother's love simply because his blood ran through my body.

Mom moved and sat next to me. "Darling, your father apologized. I'm sure you have a sincere heart and want to give your father a chance."

The warmth of my hand I could feel when my mother grabbed my hand and cupped it with both hands.

"Please don't force me! You know, ma'am, just to be able to forgive yourself takes time. Especially to forgive the man who rejected my presence." - My hardened, while throwing my worst gaze at Mr. Kafeel.

Mother sighed. "Mom knows, honey, but your father doesn't know anything. He just -"

"What's all, Mom? Didn't you ever come here to tell me about me? But what did you get? I just get the humiliation and slap of her beloved daughter." My hands clenched as I remembered my mother's story back then.

Mr. Kafeel looked so surprised that his eyes were wide open when he looked at me. "What are you saying, Lily?"

"As you have heard," I replied lazily.

The eyeballs moved to look at my mother. "Is that true, Maya?"

"You think I'm as good at lying as your daughter? Huh!" my sergeant, feels that lord Kafeel doubts me.

"That's not it, Lily, Dad just wanted to" His words hung as I suddenly stood up to approach Rei and struggled spoiled in his arms.

Om Rei was a little surprised and looked at me with a frown. "What are you doing, Lily?"

I just looked at Rei expectantly and looked back at Kafeel, who now seemed to be approaching me.

"You're not my father! I have chosen, and I will ask God to make Rei my father."
