"What do you mean, Daffin?" I frowned in surprise when Daffin said that the pregnant woman in the portrait was Maya.

Daffin took my hand. "Maya was Lily's mother, and Lily was the woman my mother wanted to be her daughter-in-law. But destiny says something else. My mother died before Lily was born into this world."

All of a sudden, I felt like scratching my neck even though it didn't actually feel itchy.

"I don't understand, Daffin," I said to Daffin who was looking at me. "If your mother wants you to marry her daughter Maya, but why did you marry Reena's sister? Didn't she marry Lily?" tanyaku later.

"Destiny is not on our side" said Daffin, one hand rubbing a portrait of himself kissing Maya's stomach.

"Destiny ... Huh! It's always fate to blame" I complained without looking at Daffin.

The absence of an answer from Daffin made me open the next page and see Maya holding her daughter. My guess is that the baby was born because the portrait showed that Maya was in a hospital.

I went page by page showing how close Daffin was to Maya and her daughter. Until I arrived at a page showing a portrait of Daffin and Lily together on a beach. The beautiful baby was wearing a familiar outfit in my eyes. I don't know what's wrong with my heart, but I feel something strange in my heart.

"Daffin?" call me to Daffin who is also staring at her and Lily's portrait.

"Hemm ..," answered Daffin, he was busy kissing the back of my hand.

"Is this beautiful baby Lily?" many doubt.

Daffin took off my hand and picked up the book that was previously in my lap. His eyes were staring at the portrait until I saw him shed tears, although Daffin immediately wiped his tears.

"Yes! She ... Lily." said Daffin, I felt how hard that sentence was coming out of her mouth. "This was my last time with her, because after that I never saw Lily again. Either he's alive or he's not." he continued.

I could not hide my surprise until I covered my mouth with both hands. "Geez!!!"

Now I understand, Daffin married Reena instead because he couldn't marry Lily. But I don't know! It was just my conclusion because I wasn't sure to ask Daffin.

"I just hope that one day I can meet her and bring happiness back into Maya's life." hope Daffin, his eyes can't be separated from Lily's portrait.

"You love Maya so much." I rubbed Daffin's back, hoping it would calm him down.

"Maya is like my real mother. When my mother died, Maya was the one who took my mother's place and loved me like her own son." Again, Daffin wiped his tears. "I even asked Maya to be my mother and asked my father to marry Maya."

My eyes were wide open hearing Daffin's story. "really?"

"Sure! I think that instead of Maya continuing to suffer, it would be better if she married my father and became my mother. But Maya insisted she wanted to stay with her husband even though she was always in exile." said Daffin.

So far, I still listen to Daffin's story well because I'm also quite interested in Maya's story.

"Excommunicated? Wasn't Maya the first lady of the Kafel family? Why was he exiled?" I don't know the full story of Daffin.

I could hear Daffin's breath before he answered my question. "Because of Lily's disappearance, everyone blamed Maya for the incident."

"When did it happen, Daffin?" ask me where I'm from, because I don't know what to say anymore.

"The date is the code you asked me and it's been more than twenty years since the incident" Daffin said, returning to the sadness that had enveloped his eyes.

"That means it happened on June 13th? More than 20 years ago?" ask me to clarify the information I received.

"It was more precisely 22 years ago" said Daffin.

My mind immediately turned around when Daffin said that. Suddenly, I remembered something that made my chest feel tight.

"Wait a minute!" I felt my wrist being held by Daffin, but I immediately threw out his hand.

With a thought that floated somewhere, I walked out of Daffin's mansion and crossed the road to my house. I don't even care about Daffin yelling my name.

"YESHYA!!!"

My legs refused to stop and wanted to get to where I wanted to go.

Hasty footsteps brought me quickly to my house and immediately darted into the room. With a feeling that was not right, I opened the wardrobe and took a box that was given by the late grandmother when Erlan's sister was about to marry me.

As soon as the box opened, my eyes opened wide and could not blink until I realized tears were flooding my eyes.

Flashback...

"Aca? Darling?" Grandma's soft voice distracted me who was playing a ring that was coiled around my ring finger.

"Yes, Grandma" I replied as I approached the grandmother who was sitting on the edge of my bed.

"Come, Honey!" Grandma patted the empty side that was next to her.

Without waiting any longer, I followed Grandma's orders to sit next to her.

Grandma's wrinkled hands started caressing my face. "You're an adult now. It doesn't feel like it's time for you to open a new chapter in your life and that's with my granddaughter."

I smiled looking at Grandma's shady face. There was calmness every time I looked at Grandma's face, the same thing happened when I looked at Erlan's. My lips clenched and couldn't say anything until I'd rather hug Grandma.

"Thank you, Grandma," I cried in Grandma's arms.

Grandma returned my embrace while stroking my hair. "No need to thank me. Your happy grandmother is present in our lives and gives a new life to Erlangga."

My tears are dripping hearing Grandma's words. "Stay, if there's no Grandma, I don't know what's gonna happen to Aca."

"Grandmother remembered something" my grandmother then let go of my arms and took out a box she had placed next to her to give me.

Grandma put the box over my lap. "Since you're all grown up and getting married soon, Grandma thinks you need this to find your parents' whereabouts."

My eyes were focused on the box that was on my lap. Before I opened the box, I briefly looked at the grandmother who nodded her head and hinted for me to open the box immediately.

My hands trembled as I opened the box which turned out to contain a portrait of a beautiful baby wearing a T-shirt and a matching miniskirt, and a small ribbon on top of his head. Under the portrait, there is the same outfit found in the portrait.

"Miss, this?" ask me while lifting the tiny clothes into the air.

"That's all yours," replied the grandmother with teary eyes.

Flashback...

Streams of tears kept flowing from my eyes. "You're evil, Maya!"
