The Musafir
The Story of Samudradvipa

“For if you know about this from the beginning, you will surely be lazy to train your left arm to use the sword. I want you to be able to play the sword in the right hand and also the left hand. This incident this morning ... I have indeed long planned to challenge you to fight, because the artificial arm for this right hand I will only give after you managed to defeat me by relying only on the left arm.”

At that instant the Mantingan realized that what was done by the Balian Papa was the truth, that he will be lazy to train the left arm if he already knows that his right arm will be regained even if only a clone. Now as a gift, Mantingan seems to have two mainstay arms.

“The raw material of this artificial arm is the best type ulin wood which is completely strong and durable. I have mixed it with my flagship herb to make it immune to fire and moisture.”

AFTER demonstrating it, Mantingan offered to Tapa Balian if he wanted to learn the book that contains the Founding of Man then he would lend it. However, Tapa Balian rejected it subtly.

“The art that the Son created is extraordinary. I've never thought about such a thing before. And really, I'm almost at a loss for words to express how proud I am of you. But I must refuse that glorious offer, for this Tapa Balian is too old and old to be able to study the book. Now I do not want to be too serious in living life in the martial world, so indeed such knowledge will actually plunge me back into the world of martial arts full of sniffs.” The eyes of Tapa Balian then turned to his grandson who was still sound asleep. “Don't until Pomegranate has the same fate as his mother, who I failed to protect from the dirty hands of the martial world swordsman.”

No need to tell it has also been able to Mantingan guess the story. So the young man exhaled a long breath while looking down. The martial world is not a friendly world for families. There is always abandonment or abandonment, both of which must lead to sadness and deep pain.

“In the next life, if my destiny brings me back to the martial path, I will surely learn the science. But for this life, I was forced to refrain from learning it. Forgive me, Mantingan.”

The mantang wags its wooden arm, although it is not really conscious when doing that. “No need to apologize, Father. I really also understand how the martial world is not a pleasant place. I also do not really expect you to learn this science.”

Tapa Balian smiled widely and nodded in satisfaction. “Now let me ask you. To what extent would the science of forging that you have successfully learned?”

The mantan coughed softly as it remembered that Tapa Balian gave him the book of forging as well as the materials needed to forge weapons. With an awkward smile on his face, Mantingan also explained, “I am still up to the basic science, Father. Many failures I faced when forging weapons. The iron I forged was always broken. And if it does not break, it will bend in such a way. So with all the failures, I did not dare to study science at the next level. Forgive me if I have disappointed you.”

“Samely no.” Tapa Balian shook his head. “Although it seems that Child is not talented in terms of forging weapons, but at least Child has tried.”

The mantan could only smile bitterly in return.

“Since you cannot forge your own weapons, do not hesitate to ask me for a weapon. With pleasure, I will make it.”

“Really it will be very troublesome Mr.” The mantel shook slowly while smiling faintly. “Quite this artificial arm that has inconvenienced Mr.”

Mantingan smiled widely and said cheerfully, “I'm glad to hear it, Mr Balian!”

“You brought good luck to me.” Tapa Balian also smiled widely.

Their discussion continued, discussing the warm news in Bones Onion and Pasemah. For Mantingan who almost never came out to welcome civilization, the news felt very important. Their conversation concocted to the story of Gema, which however Mantingan had ended his life history this afternoon.

“He has long kept the resolve to quell all the thieves who inhabit Suvarnadvipa. His dream was very high, so too with his sadness ...”

Tapa Balian then tells the life story of Gema Samudradvipa, which is actually so mysterious beyond measure.

Gema Samudradvipa was the eldest son of a merchant family in Javadvipa. Once when he was sixteen, he joined his family traveling and trading in Suvarnadvipa. Bad address, they accidentally came to the den of thieves with loaded carts. They have been attacked. The people in the trading entourage were then killed all but Gema who managed to escape.

So much time passed. Echoes began to regret his decision to choose to run away when he saw the opportunity. If time could be repeated, he would die with his family. However, how it cannot and will never happen. So Gema decided to correct his mistake, determined to crush the pirates in Suvarnadvipa until it was all gone. He vowed never to return to Javadvipa before completing his promise, so Gema added “Samudradvipa” behind his name, in order to always remember his vow.

“That's how he continues to raise money and people who are in line with him. Until the age of twenty, when he planned to launch the first attack on the headquarters of the bandit group, he said, who would have thought that he would be betrayed by his own group at such an important time?”

Mantingan took a deep breath and exhaled it with great sorrow. He never thought that Gema had such a sad life story. Abandoning her family may be sad enough, but leaving her family and letting them die is so sad and sad.

“But his determination is so strong, so very strong. Despite being betrayed to such an extent that all his resources have been seized without rest, Gema still struggles to complete his promise. Back he was raising money, but not by gathering people.

“Gema moves itself. Kill every thief he can find. Unfortunately, his lunge actually made him look worse than the rogues. He spread fear everywhere, because he never asked for an explanation before attacking, so sometimes the people he killed were completely innocent. Like a ghost, he attacked always with his broad caping, so that his face was never not covered in black shadows, with a large sword on his back that he always carried everywhere, he really looked like a life-taking god. For this reason he got the name of the Straw-Medged Caping.”
