The Musafir

The Musafir
Wise Old Man

AT the foot of the mountain that Mantingan saw yesterday it turns out there are settlements and even tourist attractions. However, the tourist attractions were closed due to the chaos that occurred.

At the foot of this mountain, they could clearly see Gusti Yang Mahaindah reflected from the two great mountains. What an incredible thing. Combined with cold air and clear skies, it is comforting to the eyes of the beholder.

The top of one mountain looks smoother than the top of the other mountain. It looks like a young mountain.

While the mountain whose peak is full of craters looks like an adult mountain that gives a lesson to the young mountain next to it. They look beautiful together.

When viewed from below here, the top of the mountain looks as if it is close and easily reached. But it's not really so. It takes at least half a day if you walk leisurely towards the top of the mountain.

According to one of the villagers who Mantingan met, it is known that there is a herd of rhinos that inhabit the mountain. The rhinos created a natural path for humans to reach the top of the mountain. However, the two mountains are considered sacred, should not be climbed.

“Consider the appearance of Gusti, Young man,” said the man. “We instead worship the mountain as our god, but we consider the mountain to be the face of Gusti. Because Gusti is very difficult to imagine apparently, then we take the mountain as its shape.

“These two mountains are high,” he continued, “the peak is like the eyes of a pair of eyes that are always watching us, so we will feel ashamed to sin.”

The mantle nodded and smiled faintly. But he realized that this would be misunderstood someday.

“Well, these two Youngsters are going where?”

“We want to go to Tanjung Kalapa, Mr. The path we passed through intersected with this mountain, so we took the time to stop by and look at the beauty of the mountain.”

“Oh, please-please. Origin does not bring problems for the citizens around. Here there are local lodging and food stalls. Of course, you will not be disappointed to stop by here.”

Mantingan glanced at the North River Angel next to him to ask for an opinion, the girl turned a glance as if she would not give an answer. Mantingan cleared his throat once before saying, “We will stop by one-two days here if the surrounding community does not mind.”

“Oh, sure, you guys are considered a blessing. Let me take you both.”

Mantian nodded. There is no harm in delaying time a little. Both are not being pursued by time, even the more delay time will be better. The east monsoon is still a little long coming.

They are ushered into the beautiful countryside again comfortable to live in. The average rural building is based on reeds. The walls are woven bamboo while the pole is a reed rod.

Until it arrived in a two-story building that was laden with reeds. The shop was on the edge of a ravine that was though steep but quite sturdy. The view of the mountain is not blocked by trees or houses if so. Like the face of the store facing two mountains that are rich and mighty.

The mantan nodded, he reached into his coffers and held out a few pieces of silver at the man. “Bapak, this is a little ...”

“Ah, what the hell is this kid. This father is sincere, does not demand payment.”

The mantel quickly pulled the pieces of silver, he knew how sincere people would be offended if they were paid for the help they were given.

“Sorry for offending you. Really Mr. this is a person I rarely meet, so it seems I am not used to.”

That guy didn't take it too seriously. “Ah, is not why. Here I live in peace and abundance. Have you ever heard that humans are shaped by their environment? Well, I was formed by a peaceful environment from a long time ago. Unlike those outside who may be less fortunate, shaped by a bad environment, do not blame them too much before you give them instruction and warning.”

Mantingan really could not speak to hear the words of the village in front of him. While the Angel of the North River was only pensive, this knowledge was too high for him to accept.

“So, Father, what should I do? I don't want to kill many black stream people, Father, but they would be very dangerous if left alive.”

Although Mantingan's question went far enough, but the person still smiled and replied, “Yes, I agree that they are very dangerous if left rampant. Son, do you know why humans always kill and prey on other creatures?”

The mantle was silent for a moment. Here is a question that has not been answered for a long time. “For man to live, Father. Is it allowed?”

“By allowed. If we do not eat, we cannot live. But it can't be excessive, son. Humans have enough to eat a filling and healthy, but there are humans who eat for the pleasure and satisfaction of the tongue alone, they do not hesitate to kill animals that do not need to be killed just to eat. It was as if they lived to eat, not eat to live.

“The same answer about murder, Son. Man kills to preserve his life, to preserve the life of his family, to sustain the life of the people in his group. Don't you get me wrong defending the man you want to keep his life for, son. Kill for the sake of survival, not live to kill.”

Mantingan was silent for a while to digest all the knowledge he got well. After that he turned his face to the old man in front of him, then out of whim his body moved bent, continuing to bend until he kissed the old man's feet. Just like he did to his teacher and his parents. Somehow he felt the person in front of him could be interpreted as his own teacher. Which has given me a great understanding of life.

“Stay on the Path of Truth, My Son, Dwipantara needs a man like you.” After saying that, the old man in front of him had suddenly disappeared without the slightest trace. Even on the ground he had poked did not see any trace of him.

The North River Angel really could not digest what he had just seen. Science that was too heavy until the moving Mantingan kissed the old man's feet made him confused, especially when the person suddenly disappeared without removing the slightest dust.

Mantingan rose with a haru feeling. The North River Angel asked where the old man had gone, but Mantingan shook his head slowly.

“No need to search again.”
