The Musafir

The Musafir
Acknowledging the True Occurrence

“Name Jakawarman itself is quite surprising, right? ‘Warman’ is a name passed down from Jayasingawarman to his son Dharmayawarman, who later passed down to his son Punawarman. Currently, the name ‘Warman’ is only used by the royal family who are direct descendants of Jayasingawarman. If so, where did Jakawarman get his name?”

The mantel still held his breath. His mind is spinning. Does he have to reveal the true incident, that Jakawarman did not die at all by being attacked by wild animals but lost by leaving a trace of Kembangmas? Is Rama really a person who can be trusted to keep a secret?

“Kutahu that your relationship with Jakawarman is said to be very close. But you must know that the greatest possibility, Jakawarman is the enemy spy. I saw Jakawarman's clothes covered in blood, but it was not human blood or animal blood. It's nobody's blood. But the liquid from the fruit buni that was deliberately applied to the clothes.” Rama took a deep breath. “So, if he is really a spy, then he is trying to disguise his death, as if he died in the hands of a wild animal.”

This time, Mantingan let out a long sigh. Really, his chest felt heavy. Isn't sighing really not a problem if you don't do it too often?

“It was I who faked Jakawarman's death, Chairman.”

Rama raised his eyebrows. Looks surprised. However, it only lasted for a moment. Rama then nodded his head slowly before saying, “For what purpose until Son Man dares to lie?”

As soon as Rama said that, actually Mantingan's chest felt heavier. How those words really poked his mind. But no matter what happens, Mantingan must tell the story.

Rama nodded his head several times throughout Mantingan's story. There was neither anger nor disappointment on his face. Just a thin smile, which sometimes turns into a warm smile.

So after Mantingan finished the story, said Rama, “That reason why you lie can be at once unacceptable, Son of Man. However, you have tarnished the good name of Jakawarman as a brave warrior. But I can accept it this time, Son of Man, for the man whom you have blasphemed his good name may be an enemy spy. Or better yet, the person who claimed to be Jakawarman was none other than Kembangmas.”

Then Rama patted his shoulder with a big smile. “There is nothing for you to regret, Son of Man. Just take the lesson,” he said later. “Armada cruise will depart in two months time. Spend that time with them. Do not let you regret after they went to Champa, Son of Man.”

***

MANTINGAN RETURNED walking towards his residence and Cana. Twilight has been a long time since. The sky can be said to be bright. A half moon hanging in the sky. Befriend the stars with the varying powers of their rays. Even because it is so bright, bats that fly past will be clearly visible.

Mantingan found Kana who was practicing in the courtyard of the residence. The boy immediately stopped his footsteps to simply greet Mantingan.

“Kakanda, let's teach myself! Daku wants to get all the training from you before actually going to Champa!” Kana said excitedly. “If you want to train me until morning though, I don't mind. Come!”

The mantan smiled as he continued walking, as if paying no attention to Cana. But a moment later, he said, “Prepare your horses, I will attack.”

Cana put his horses as firmly as possible and pointed the tip of his sword at Mantingan.

But Mantingan continued walking towards the entrance of the residence without looking tasteful at Cana. Kana frowned, not really understanding the meaning of the Mantingan who had clearly said that he would attack so asked Kana to prepare his horses!

“Kakanda, you did not attack me.” Unknowingly, Kana loosened her horses. Even his sword was no longer sharpened.

Then that was when his body was suddenly driven by a strange power that was so strong. He floated things for a moment in the air before finally being dragged on the grassy ground. His sword lay just like that on the ground, with a distance that could be said to be quite far from him.

The boy who felt insinuated quickly got up and ran to grab his sword. His legs formed strong horses. This time, he won't let his guard down!

The mantan took out a yard broom that was originally leaning against the walls of the residence. With a smile on the corner of his lips, Mantingan turned around until now his body faced Kana.

Although Mantingan seemed to be only arming herself with a yard broom that was no less and no more a combination of dried coconut leaf lidis, Kana was not stupid enough to underestimate the young man.

He had read a martial art which stated that a high-scientific swordsman could use a drop of water as a deadly weapon.

So what Mantingan is holding now is not a drop of water, but a page broom!

Kana took a small step back by continuing to defend her horses. His eyes never shifted the slightest thing from the figure of Mantingan.

The mantingan widened his smile after seeing the boy still maintaining his vigilance and the horses. It also seems that the boy had no intention of underestimating her. It was felt that Kana was ready to take the attack. So swung the page broom towards Cana, although it was still a very long distance away.

From the broom, a great wave of wind roared towards Cana. The boy saw it, but it was impossible if he moved dodging. All he can do now is strengthen his ponies.

The wind wave hit Kana's thin body. Which no doubt makes the boy back slammed into the back. Kana fell on the ground with a sword left lying down.

“You are truly deliverance ...”

The laughing mantle. “I have absolutely no release, Kana. I've measured the attack before. I did do this intentionally.”

Kana raised her head before shouting. “Kakanda, you have absolutely no intention of training me!”

“Salah, Cana. I have so much intention of training you that I do this to you. Take your sword and enter the residence.”

Kana threw away her face. “Kakanda only. I want to continue training.”

“Once you have to study the book, Cana. Unless you want to read it out here, with no illumination other than the moon.”

“Kakanda want to teach me a martial book?”

The mantan only nodded in return. And without waiting for a reply from Cana, he opened the door and entered into the residence. While Kana quickly sheathed her sword before running in.
