The Musafir

The Musafir
Village Piracy

EXACTLY THREE days later, the only herbal flower shop in Lonceng Angin Village was completed. That morning, Mantingan, Bidadari Sungai Utara, Kana, and Kina went hand in hand to clean the shop which however its construction left a lot of dust and sand.

The coat also puts some furniture in it for shop purposes such as long tables, benches, shelves, special drawers of medicinal powder, and more. All of that had been Mantingan bought the day before.

While sweeping the wooden floor of the store, Mantingan said, “If Sisters buy treatment flowers here, Sisters can get it half price.”

“I appreciate that, Brother.” The Northern River Angel said not far from him. “Mother Wira will definitely be happy with this news.”

“Oh, and especially the Lady, she can get all the interest without having to pay,” said Mantingan laughed.

“If you do that, then I can make sure that I will destroy this store.” The Angel of the North River responded flatly, but anyone would know that he did not mean it. Like Mantingan.

Mantingan only replied to him with a small laugh. It was then that he heard a knock on the door of the shop. The mantle cleared away the dust in his hands before walking towards the door. He clutches the doorknob. But before opening it, Mantingan first glanced at the North River Angel. He sent a whisper of wind towards the ears of the North River Angel.

“Saudari, you better wear a veil.”

After hearing the Mantingan's whisper, the Northern River Angel nodded once before going into the inner room. Only then did Mantingan open the door.

“Good morning, Mr.”

The mantel smiled at the old man in front of him. “Good morning, Father. What could be helpful to you? But before the distress apologized, because the call was inappropriate to call yourself sahaya.”

The old man smiled. “Then you want to be called what?”

Mantingan returned the man's smile and replied, “Since you look much older than the sun, call yourself a peril as you call other young people.”

“Alright, alright.” The old man's smile grew even more. “Child, I am from the village post, want to inform the Children of a rule that should be obeyed.”

Mantingan was quite confused because he felt that he had never broken the rules of the village, so ask the young man. “What kind of rules do you need to convey to sahaya?”

“This rule covers outlets made by Children. Each building must pay a tax of 10 pieces of silver each month. Is the Child ready?”

Actually Mantingan no longer have a lot of money after building his shop. He only had a few hundred gold pieces and 17 Stones. With all seventeen stones in his hands, Mantingan had actually become the richest person in the Wind Bell Village. However, Mantingan still considers the 17 Stones to belong to Dara. It should not belong to Mantingan.

But if required to pay 10 pieces of silver every month, then Mantingan do not mind at all.

“Sahaya will open shop in this month, Mr. Then can I pay it right now?”

“Now certainly can, if that's what the Son wants.”

The mantel picked up ten pieces of silver inside its bundle before returning to meet the old man.

“Please bring me this tax, Mr.” The mantle held out two hands holding 10 pieces of silver.

“Of course, no need to hesitate like this.” The old man chuckled and received all the pieces of silver. “Alright, I don't think there's any need for myself to linger here. It will only disturb the peace of the child. So with that, please solace yourself.”

“Wait a minute, Mr.” The mantle restrains the old man. “Sahaya wants to ask about something that might offend the self-esteem of Mr. and the Wind Bell Village.”

The old man's face changed. “About what question is it? Children are very entitled to ask if it concerns the safety, comfort, and beauty of this village.”

Mantingan looking around the street. Make sure it's safe. Whynot? This question is quite dangerous if heard by just anyone.

“Before I want you to know, Sahaya is one of the many warriors in Javadvipa. The ability of a swordsman is able to capture objects that move very quickly with his vision.” The mantel drew a cold breath. “Today, I saw many black-clothed warriors coming here and there. From one house, to another. What I want to ask is actually clear, Mr.”

“Yes. It is true if the Child feels something is not right.” The old man smiled wryly.

Because the old man did not reply for a long time, Mantingan again asked the question. “Do you not mind explaining it to yourself sahaya?”

“Yes, of course. Why not?” The old man took a deep breath before starting to explain, “those are the warriors who tried to hijack our village, Son. They came to the village hall with their bats covered in deadly poison. They told us to collect money from the population in large numbers, if we do not comply then it will definitely be killed.

“I am so scared that I have no choice but to obey their will. In fact, every outlet in the Wind Bell Village only needed to pay 5 pieces of silver each month. But we had to raise the price. They also threatened to prey on our girls if they did not comply.”

Mantingan put on a watchful look. “What kind of robbers are they, Father?”

“They are very capable robbers. If the Son intends to fight them and defend us, I advise him not to do so. It is the same as bringing life to them. Children will surely perish in their hands.”

“At first, I would have intended it that way, Father. But Sahaya will reconsider the verdict, Mr. I think this oppression must end soon. I just need to know where their base is, and how much power it is.”

However, the old man shook his head. “Sahaya doesn't know all that, Son. Peril knowledge about them is only as high as an eye of a foot.”

Mantingan nodded his head several times before returning to say, “Can you keep this conversation a secret? Sahaya do not want to start unnecessary problems with them.”

“Eh, didn't the Son intend to help us?”

“Pardon me, Father, but this is too dangerous. With a heavy heart, Sahaya stated that he could not help the villagers. Hazard aid is only limited to tax. Wanting dangers helps a lot, such as fighting them for example. Grim is already self-dangerous. But if it must drip blood, then it is better to be silent. Sahaya doesn't dare, Father."
