Title: Our Language Both

_________________________

Metias.

A name that I find rather strange. Usually, his name is written as 'Matias', or referred to as 'Matthew'. Clearly, Metias is not a name I hear often.

Metias put her foot into our class. Then he sat down next to me, in the corner of the classroom where we shared a table for a few months.

'Hi, ' he said briefly.

I returned with a warm smile. 'Hi, ' Sapaku to her.

Then we continued the day sharing silence, with our arms touching each other every now and then, and with the quick thump of my heart that I wished I hadn't heard.

'Sa, you never say yes, same Metias?' reina asked as we were walking side by side towards the school cafeteria.

'Early, kok.' Answer's short.

After hearing my answer, Reina looked at me with a difficult gaze. 'Be careful, Sa. If I'm concerned, it's like the boy's freak, deh.' He said with a warning tone.

'What's the big break, Re?' manya curious. Because in my opinion, 'freak' is not the right word to describe my countryman.

Reina shrugged her shoulders. 'Well. Lo know, lah. He never mingled with anyone. The same guys never get together.'

Hearing Reina's statement, I involuntarily smiled.

'Why are you smiling to yourself?' reina asked suspiciously when she saw my smile that appeared at an unusual moment. I nodded while holding a smile.

'Sa, you kesambet, huh?' reina asked as she reached out to touch my forehead.

I brushed off her delicate hand, then shook her head again. 'No, Re. Just funny.' it's.' I said.

Reina frowned when she heard him. 'What's funny, anyway?' tanyanya.

I shook my head again for the umpteenth time. 'Lo doesn't know, anyway.' I said, making Reina even more curious.

There's one thing about Metias that people don't know. One thing only we for the two of you know.

'Met, please take my pencil, dong.' My request to Metias who is busy taking notes on lessons. My pencil fell by her feet, too far away for me to reach by myself.

Metias stopped her activity, then lowered her head to look for my pencil that had fallen on the floor. I noticed the curves of his back that looked loamy behind his white uniform. Two seconds later, Metias had already thrust the pencil at me. 'Nih,' said.

I reached out to receive the pencil. 'Thank you, yeah.' I said while deliberately touching my fingers with his long fingers. At first, he was a bit surprised because of our physical contact. But eventually, we made that contact for almost a minute.

'Say people lo freak.' Report him. I waited to see the change in expression on his face.

'Gue?' tanyanya. His facial expression did not change.

'Yes, elo Met. Because you don't blend.'

'Let's go.'

'But I can't.'

'And I can't blend in. There's nothing we can do about it.'

'Surrender, anyway. They are afraid they are suspicious of us.'

'where possible. I can catch them. I know what they all think.'

'Sure?'

'Yakin.'

I took my hand off Metias and returned to my chemical record.

'Kok lo nanya that?' I try to relax.

'Because yesterday I saw you holding hands with Metias. In class.' The answer without reducing the levels of noise in the tone of his voice. Crazy, this kid is so thorough.

'Oh, yesterday, huh? Yeah, hell. We are again deket…'

'Saaa.. He's a freak!' reina said cutting my words in frustration.

I smiled to myself again. 'No, no, Re. She's kind.'

Hearing that, Reina frowned. 'It's up, Sa.' Said Reina while shaking her head. 'He has no friends, Sa. I'm just afraid he's a psychopath.'

In my heart, I smiled with concern. This kid watches thriller movies too often. 'There are many things you never know, Re, ' my inner self. Then I left Reina in the toilet and walked towards the classroom.

History lessons in our classes. Metias is still sitting next to me. We sit in silence. Our arms touch each other.

'Oh, I'm so bored!' Said Metias loudly. Of course, no one can hear it but me.

'Same, Met.' I approve.

'Fortunately, there are lo.' Metias. Hearing that, without being able to prevent my face from heating up again. I'm sure it must be red. I'm throats.

'Tadi Reina is so excited, Met.' I said to divert the conversation.

'Yeah, I know. I can beat him, kok.' Answer Metias casually.

'Yes, yeah. Why do I always forget, anyway?'

'It's okay, kali.'

'Gue's just afraid they know.'

'No.'

'Reina is suspicious we're dating.'

'It's like we're dating really.' Said Metias casually.

'Huh?' I stared at Metias. Did I hear wrong? I'm not sure he's serious.

'Do you want to be my girlfriend? It's my conscience, you know.' He said once more. I paused for a while, before finally smiling from hearing the words 'heart voice'.

'OK.' My answer is as simple as his declaration of love.

Metias raised her eyebrows. 'OKay only?' Ask.

'yes. I know it's your conscience. It's ridiculous, anyway.'

Then Metias smiled. The touch of our arms is now the grip of our hands.

'Sa, your courtship style is really strange, anyway?' reina asked with a curious expression. This one kid is really kepo.

'What the hell is it, Re?'

'You two are just lyrics all the time, anyway? By the way, not writing either. You use telepathy, huh?'

I smiled (again). This time I won't mind Reina's comments. Let the kid guess.

Metias.

A name that I find rather strange. Usually, his name is written as 'Matias', or referred to as 'Matthew'. Clearly, Metias is not a name I hear often.

Metias put her foot into our class. Then he sat down next to me, in the corner of the classroom where we shared a table for a few months.

'Hi, ' The brief greeting is accompanied by a warm smile. The smile he has shown me in recent weeks. A smile that makes her eyes look brighter. The smile that made my heart flutter.

I replied with an equally warm smile. 'Hi, ' Sapaku to her.

Then we continued the day sharing silence, with our fingers interlocked under the table, and with the accompaniment of the beating of our hearts.

For the next time, I want us to stay the same. Speak without sound, and communicate without language. Just the two of us.
