Title: Silk Road (Part 2)

_________________________

The next day before sunrise Jayanegara woke the goddess kumala. Dewi kumala immediately stood up and took a standby stance,

'what's up? Are they coming?'

'no, I want to take you somewhere.'

Jayanegara took the hand of the goddess Kumala. They walked away from the lake to the top, until they arrived at a jayanegara climb said as they continued walking,

'if you can get to the end of this climb without looking back then you will be able to be with the people you love and your love will not be separated.'

'really do? Who said it?' ask goddess kumala wonder.

'I 'me. I made it up and I hope it will come true'

'then I won't look back'

They managed to pass through it without looking back. After arriving at the top of the ramp they walk a few hundred meters more until arriving at the edge of the gorge. Jayanegara stopped and said,

'look at the majesty of God. Telu.. loro…'

The sun slowly emerges from behind the mountain and the clouds are felt under our eyes. Like walking on a mountain.

'I want time to stop right now. I'm afraid we can't be like this anymore said the goddess Kumala lirih.

The next morning they were active as usual, the goddess Kumala was not too spoiled anymore. Jayanegara practices the sword, goddess kumala cleans the cottage. After that they went fishing, the goddess kumala pushed jayanegara to splash into the lake, then they fed the pawana followed by picking flowers to be planted near the hut, after that they sit on the hill while listening to the music from the Jayanegara flute.

By evening jayanegara said,

'you want to take the spices to the cliff?' jayanegara.

'alright.'

They climb a steep cliff. They finally reached their intended place. When Jayanegara gathered the spices, he looked towards the desert and said to the goddess kumala,

'it looks like we should go down.'

'why?' ask kumala.

'that's. they're coming!' jayanegara answered flatly while pointing towards the desert.

In the desert had stood a few tents.

'why are they camping there?' ask kumala.

'I think they're too tired to climb up. But according to my estimation, they will arrive at the latest tomorrow morning at our cottage.'

The two sat on the hill in silence. No one wants to talk. Until finally the silence was broken by the goddess Kumala,

'i like you' he said as he looked at Jayanegara's face.

'why do you like me? We just met'

'does love need a reason?' dewi kumala asked back.

'huh, you are indeed good at playing words'

'one more thing, I haven't told you everything yet. The reason I ran away was because my father raden wijaya forced me to marry a prince from China to mend our royal relations. And I don't like it. Is correct. I am the princess of the Majapahit kingdom. Princess of raden wijaya. I've told you everything. Will you tell me of your origin until you get here? ' said the goddess Kumala frankly.

Jayanegara sighed, then said,

'i'm jayakatwang's son, the man your father killed.'

'WHAT? I think I should have heard your name. Then... are you going to kill me to avenge your father?' dewi kumala was shocked.

'stupid, how could I hurt the girl I love? Revenge will only give birth to new revenge. My father also killed kertanegara for revenge for the slain stump Ametung in kediri in the past. Then your father took revenge for the death of the state. See it? If it continues it will never end. It is like a vicious cycle that never ends. The only thing I regret is running away from the battle. I was too afraid to fight and at least died honorably. I even watched my own father die in front of me. Then I go to this place hoping to get stronger. Ever since I lost my spirit, I just wanted strength to get stronger. I only care about myself. Until you finally came. I feel like I'm back alive.'

'are you sure you can beat them?'

'i'll try'

They went back to the cottage to sleep, but none of them could.

The sun has risen and Jayanegara has prepared with his armor. His sword was sharpened and the arrow he had prepared.

'stay in this cabin for a while, I'll divert them into the woods. It's too open to war.' Jayanegara.

'no, I'm coming with you. I'm afraid you won't come back.'

'don't. Too dangerous. Trust me I'll be back.'

'they're coming. Alright I leave' continued jayanegara while rising to the top of the pawana.

Although their distance is still far but Jayanegara can hear it.

500 meters. 400. 300. 200. 100, in front. Jayanegara drove his horse. From the roar of his horse he could count his enemies to 10 men. They appear, exactly as Jayanegara estimates. They numbered 10 people, but now it became 9 people because one person had fallen in harvest jayanegara.

'tangkaapp diaa.' shouted someone who might be the leader.

Jayanegara spurred the pawana away from the hut. He changed his seat to face back and managed to shoot one more person.8 more people. Now they are far away in the forest. Jayanegara jumped off his horse and let the pawana run until it disappeared from view. He then hid in one of the bushes. A moment later, they showed up. Jayanegara remained silent until the last pursuer appeared he immediately jumped towards the enemy and managed to take down his opponent. With one slash the enemy successfully lost his head. The other attacker who was in front of his dead friend immediately regained consciousness and told his friend.

'he's in the back' he shouted.

But it became his last words because after that an arrow stuck in his throat. His other opponent turned around and formed a straight line. 2 people who were the front immediately aimed their arrows at Jayanegara. Jayanegara immediately took refuge behind the body of the person he darted his throat while continuing to lunge forward. The arrow just hit the body of the corpse. As they prepare to shoot back the jayanegara rolled forward. The arrow just passes over the head of the jayanegara. Jayanegara immediately pulled his sword into the horse leg of an archer. The horse stood up and dropped the rider, at that time jayanegara immediately threw his sword into the chest of the rider. The rider changed his name to a corpse. The archer who was still alive tried to shoot again, but he lost quickly with Jayanegara. Jayanegara threw his sword until it stuck right between the two archer's eyes.

'three against one? Ho come on. this is not fair' said Jayanegara.

Jayanegara drew his sword and prepared. The first attack came from the right. The soldier swung his sword towards the neck of the jayanegara, jayanegara immediately repelled it, but a second strike from the front immediately followed, leading directly to his stomach, which was not at all, this time Jayanegara tilted his body slightly to the left and hit the back of the opponent's sword. If Jayanegara managed to dispel the first and second attacks but not with the third attack. The third strike managed to grab his waist through his armor. A little blood came out. Jayanegara swiftly rolled back to set the distance. He closed his eyes and sharpened his hearing. He felt the wind from the left, he took one step back and twisted his body then swung his sword, when he opened his eyes his opponent's head had disappeared. Jayanegara backtracked and then he whistled. Shortly afterwards came the pawana who immediately attacked the second soldier from behind. As a result, the second soldier was immediately killed with a crumpled skull in a horse. Seeing his two friends dead the third soldier lost concentration, he attacked blindly. Their two swords clashed, fending off and attacking each other, until on one occasion the soldier managed to scratch the arms of Jayanegara and kick his stomach to fall. When the soldier will finish Jayanegara, Jayanegara immediately took the land and threw it into the eyes of the soldier. The soldier closed his eyes and a split second chance was used by Jayanegara to attack. He rolled forward and pierced the soldier's stomach through to his back. The soldier closed his eyes forever.

All the enemies have died. It's over. Jayanegara felt something was wrong. His keen intuition said this was not over. Right, he made a mistake. With the last person he killed, only 9 people have died. There's still one more person. It was too late, just as Jayanegara turned the body of an arrow stuck in his thigh. He knelt on one leg. His attacker who was the enemy commander came out from his hiding place.

'it seemed like the battle had made you tired so you wouldn't notice me. Where is the goddess kumala? Leave it to us by the king. If you hand it over then you will get rewarded.' Commander pongah said.

'not love again his name if it has been traded' said Jayanegara while rising and attacking the enemy.

Their swords clashed with sparks and clinked very hard. They corner each other but no one wants to budge. They are looking for the weaknesses of their opponents. Jayanegara's injured leg makes his speed decrease. They have been fighting for a long time. The enemy commander focuses the attack on the wounded part. The blood coming out from the arrow wounds was getting more and more. Making the movement of Jayanegara became slow and easy to read until finally on one occasion the enemy commander managed to kick the injured Jayanegara leg. Jayanegara groaned in pain and sat down. His sword was dropped.

'come on. I have to bring the girl to be allowed to go home. If I don't get it I'll be put to death.' Commander said.

'battles can happen because 2 parties fight for something that he thinks is right. So if you die at least you die honorable' replied Jayanegara.

Jayanegara tried to reach for his sword but the enemy commander's sword stuck in his palm. Again he groaned in pain. The enemy commander took out his dagger and pulled it towards the heart of Jayanegara and said, saying,

'last words?'

Jayanegara has resigned. But at the last moment from behind the bushes jumped a tiger towards the enemy commander. The enemy commander cried out hysterically for help, but it was useless. The tiger had torn his body apart and dragged him into the jungle. Jayanegara is very lucky. He pulled out the sword from his palm while enduring the pain, then called out the pawana and immediately went home. But he felt dizzy, his whole joint was paralyzed. His injuries were not much. There was only one possibility, he then plucked the arrow from his thigh, saw the tip of the arrow and was right as he expected. But he had to be strong, he had promised to go home.

When he got to the cabin he fell off the horse. Kumala who had been waiting for him immediately ran towards him.

'jayanegara. I'll get you some medicine.'

'they have killed kumala. We're winning. But I was hit by a poisoned arrow. I know this poison, it's a deadly poison for which there is no cure. Poison from borneo' area'

'no.. no way, there must be something I can do' said Kumala who started crying.

'it's okay, I have a request of you. Take me to that ramp back then.'

Kumala then memapah jayanegara climb the climb.

'i've heard stories from Arab merchants about a man named Achilles who died during the Trojan war just because his heel was hit by an arrow.' Jayanegara.

'come on, don't talk too much. You'll stay alive. I can't live without you.' Kumala.

They managed to get to the end of the ramp without looking back. Then I sat down the jayengara.

'i always trouble you, but you still help me. Take a walk and I ride a horse, willing to find cotton when I say the bed is uncomfortable, willing to accompany me to pick flowers, teach me to fish while there is nothing I can give you.' Kumala's tears flowed so hard.

'you gave me life. That's more than enough.' Jayanegara smiled for the first time since kumala arrived.

'i don't want our love to end like this. Jayanegara, do you believe in reincarnation?'

'no, but I believe that sincere love will remain eternal even through the ages.' After saying that Jayanegara closed his eyes for eternity. Kumala hugged him. Her tears kept coming out in disbelief that they were separated like this. Her only reason for living had been lost.she had not left that place, she had not eaten nor drank. That long she kept crying. On the fourth day, Kumala died of deep sadness.

Time passed, during which no one climbed to the mountain semeru, until finally in 1830 an expedition by the Dutch to the semeru mountain. On the ramp they found 2 skeletons that hugged each other. Then they were buried properly in the semeru area. Starting from that then made the myth about 'Panjakan Cinta' which is popular among semeru climbers until now.

EPILOGUES

The road to ranu kumbolo, semeru, December 31, 2013,

'you know that I am very lazy to climb the mountain' said a girl with a sullen face.

'kumala. This is the first time you climb, wait until you see the scenery in ranu kumbolo. One more thing, reportedly our guide to the summit later is a handsome guy who is already famous as a guide in this semeru.' Said the girl next to him.

'i'm not interested' answered kumala ketus.

'eatenya you until now have never had a boyfriend' his friend menggeledek.

Arriving at ranu kumbolo…

'looks beautiful right?' said kumala's friend.

'wait, this lake I think I've been here. I feel very familiar with this lake' inward kumala.

'that's the guide I told lo kumala? Bulls right?'

When Kumala saw the guide in question she fell silent. Somewhat far in front of him stood a young man who was explaining about the route to be taken to the top. On his palm was a transverse scar. Right at the same time, the young man also saw a kumala. Their eyes looked. Suddenly I felt a great headache, he held his head.

'you why kumala? You are sick, if you are sick, rest in the tent. The climb will soon be continued to the top. You just wait in the tent until I come back, ' said his friend as he swept the kumala into the tent.

Kumala lay down and tried to remember the young man's face. A familiar face even though they had never met. And that scar when he closed his eyes shadows flashed through his mind. Majapahits. Horse. Chaser. Semeru. Sandstorm. The lake. Cottage. Pamper love. Battles. Wound. Poison. JAYANEGARA! His past memories are back. He immediately rushed out of the tent, the group was now climbing the climbs of love. In front of him was the young man. He chased. Tears flowed down his cheeks. Right at the end of the kumala ramp held the hand and said,

'jayangro!!!' he could not hold back the crying.

The young man looked at the face of Kumala and said,

'kumala yes. It's me.' His voice still remains the same, flat and firm.

'weren't you waiting for me all this time?'

'yes, it took us 700 years to meet. And I found you now'

'thank you Jayanegara.'

'you believe in reincarnation?' ask jayanegara.

'no, but I believe that sincere love will remain eternal even through the ages.'

They hugged.
