Mentari in the Night Sky
The Past: Mother

I've already contacted grandparents, they're still at their friend's house when I call them but for now they're on their way home. Ken has also shared duties with Stephanie, Caroline, and her secretary to contact people who work at grandfather's house. All those who had been called said they were at home or on the way or were walking around. Something I didn't expect as an answer.

I'm still trying to call mom and call home, no one picked it up. The greatest fear of my life, will God make me face that fear?

The moment I found out about my mother's bucket list, I had already thought about the worst possibility that would happen but I ignored it. My future self may regret the decision I made but I do not regret anything because at least I can see the best smile in my life. I don't know what I'm feeling right now. My chest was very claustrophobic, my mind was confused, my heart was constantly repeating the same prayer, and my body slowly began to show fear.

"Nil, no one is at home" Ken said, clenching his hands.

Stephanie looked at me worriedly. I returned his gaze with a bitter smile and immediately turned my attention to the streets that were still wet with rainwater. I closed my eyes for a few seconds and went back to trying to contact my mother.

"Hello?!" I cried as soon as the phone lifted.

"Mother? Is Mom okay?" I asked as soon as I heard the sound of something falling. Ken, Stephanie, and Caroline hung up and looked at me expectantly. I nodded, making the three of them instantly exhale a sigh of relief.

"certain. I'm waiting for you at the door."

"Zeta will accompany Mom until you come. Zeta please stay with Zeta."

"Of course, hon. Have you arrived in London?"

"Flight canceled. Zeta is heading home."

"really? I'll heat up dinner if that's so."

"no need. Zeta just wants me to accompany Zeta on the phone."

"Well, but if you suddenly don't answer it means you're asleep. I'm so tired."

"No, I have to answer everything Zeta says."

"..."

"Did Mom love Zeta?" I asked while holding back my tears.

"Mommy loves you so much. I can inflame anything for Zeta, William, and Arthur."

"Is Mom happy?"

"Mother is always happy Zeta. I thank God for giving this life to me."

"..."

"They?"

"Yes?"

"Never blame anyone else or God for everything that has happened."

"...."

"Moonlight Sonata, does Zeta want to hear it?"

"certain."

The sound of heavy footsteps could be heard. Mom forced herself to walk into the music room. The distance between the front door and the music room was quite far and the footsteps I heard right now were not the footsteps of someone whose physical condition was fine.

"Is Mom okay?" I asked after more than 10 minutes just hearing the sound of footsteps and breathing getting heavier.

"Sure, I'm going to play Moonlight Sonata now."

The music began to sound. I couldn't focus on the music you were playing and focused more on my uncle trying to open the gate. Ken looked at me, asking me to keep talking to mom. I couldn't have suddenly cut off mom's piano play, I couldn't have done it.

"Miss, the gate can't be opened manually. High level security features enabled. It seems only Mr. Phillip can open it."

No. gabe.

I put my foot out of the car to the gate. Only those listed in the security feature can open this gate. I don't even know anyone who can unlock this feature.

Ting.

I put my phone to my ear to hear my mother's increasingly irregular piano playing. Mother played the tones with pain and regret. Just this time I could feel regret in my mother's piano play. I just saw my mother's form of regret. The remorse in these tones made me feel claustrophobic, making me feel like I was feeling the regret I felt. I don't even know what regrets my mother felt to make her piano play turn like this but those regrets came to me.

"Mother?" call me once the piano sounds no more.

"Mother?!"

"Mother?! Zeta please answer Zeta."

"Zeta, you can open the gate. Your iris and fingerprints have been registered" Ken said, taking the phone from my hand.

"Give me my phone. I have to talk to Mom" I asked as I tried to get my phone back.

"Zeta, open the gate!" ken's orders, wake me up from fear.

I walked towards the place where I identified my iris and fingerprints. My irises are unrecognizable because of the tears that keep falling. How many times I wipe my tears, another tear will replace it.

"I can't open it, Ken!!" I screamed while crying.

Ken came straight to me, wiped my tears, and clasped my hand tightly. He pushed slowly on my body so that my iris could be identified. As soon as my iris was identified, Ken put my thumb on top of the other scanner. After all was done, he entered the code he might have gotten from grandfather.

"Welcome home."

The gate instantly opened as soon as the voice of the AI sounded. Ken took me back to the car. Without waiting for orders, Uncle Stephan immediately drove the car to the main house.

"All will be well" Stephanie said, hugging me, making me even more afraid.

I ran to the door as soon as the car stopped. Ken came after me, and so did my two best friends and uncle. My hand went limp as soon as it opened the door of the house, I could not open the door in front of me. I don't want the worst possible thing I think to happen. L'm...

"All will be well" said Ken, holding my hand and opening the door with me.

The first color I saw when the door opened was red. No one could ignore the droplets of blood that were on the front floor of the door. Ken tried to shut the door back but I held him back.

"I'm not going to be okay, Ken," I told them as I shed tears and stepped inside the house. Houses that previously felt very warm now turn cold. I no longer feel if this house is a 'house' that I recognize.

I walked after the drops of blood. No need to follow these drops of blood anymore, I already know where the end of this blood is. Music room.

"No,” said Ken as soon as he opened the door of the music room.

Ken immediately hugged my body, making me unable to see the contents of the music room. Stephanie and Caroline put on quite surprised expressions. The two of them immediately looked at me who was also staring at them, making them immediately try to change their facial expressions. While the uncle had entered the music room to check on the condition of the mother. Long enough uncle check the condition of the mother, uncle has also contacted 911 to ask for help while providing first aid to the mother.

Ten minutes passed and the 911 officers had arrived. They checked the condition of the mother. They passed in and out carrying some medical equipment in the ambulance. One of the officers also contacted a senior doctor at the hospital to make sure the action that previously given uncle and other officers did was correct or not. And there is nothing wrong with all the actions that the officer gave or the first aid that the uncle gave. There's nothing wrong.

"There was no pulse. There was too much blood coming out" said one of the limp officers.

"Ken," call me desperate.

"No. I won't let you."

"He's my mom, Ken."

"Please, Zeta," he asked in a clear tone to me.

"I'm begging you too, Ken. She's my mother."

Ken let go of his embrace hesitantly. Stephanie tried to prevent me, she asked me to continue shaking her head with tears beginning to drip down her cheeks. I shook my head and gave a bitter smile before turning my body towards where Mom was.

Without me realizing my feet had already walked towards the place where mother was sitting with blood adorning her clothes. Now it looks like mom is wearing blood as her clothes. I tried to find my mother's pulse and I didn't find any pulse. Only my mother's blood I got was dirtying my fingers.

"Miss," called Uncle very slowly.

"Mother promised not to leave Zeta and would protect Zeta. Why did you deny it?" I said as I touched my mother's face which was already very cold.

"Why did Mom leave a face full of happiness like this?!!!" I asked so to see the face of the mother who did not show any pain.

"What about William and Arthur?"

"Sister William does not yet know the meaning of his life. I haven't filled my bucket list yet. Zeta please wake up."

"Mother!!!!!" call me in desperation.

"Zeta wouldn't be able to live without Mom. I'm not done teaching Zeta how to knit. Zeta still can't knit clothes for Zeta's kids. Zeta still can't cook for Zeta's future husband and children. Zeta has not been able to distinguish cooking spices. Zeta still hasn't shown all of Zeta's piano playing. There are still many things that Zeta wants to share and do with Mom. And Zeta can't live without Mom. Zeta can't live without Mom. Zeta please....."

"Zeta," called Ken while hugging my body, hugging a body that already had no reason to live anymore.

"Mothers...Mothers...I haven't even seen Zeta wearing Mom's wedding dress."

"Mother, what should Zeta do now?" close me while crying in Ken's arms.
