There was not 30 minutes from the moment uncle put a poster containing condolences that I wrote and flowers on the notice board, now many papers filled the notice board with their condolences and hopes for Natasha in the next life. I stood quietly again in front of the notice board after making the children who were pasting the paper onto the notice board leave. Now I don't know if before they wanted to show their humanity but were afraid that no one had started it or that their humanity had emerged after someone like me had started it.
One piece of writing caught my attention. When I returned to try to approach the notice board, uncle forbade me because there were still sharp glass remnants attached to the notice board.
"Zeta won't hurt Zeta. Zeta please?"
My words made uncle return to his position, behind me. I walked over and picked up a piece of paper containing writing, writing that caught my attention. And a writing I know very well.
'Thank you for making my sister have a dream and feel a love because of her wish.'
Arthur, he wrote it. She must have written it after returning from the VIP room to my classroom. I think he got the news that something bad happened to William after he wrote and put this paper on. There was no way he had already gotten word of William and could still be calm to write something like this. After holding Arthur's paper for a few seconds, I re-attached it to the notice board.
Just as I was about to turn around, continuing my steps, Ken suddenly stuck a piece of paper onto the notice board with his body that was very close to me. Looking at myself who was quite surprised, Uncle immediately pulled my body away from Ken. This made Ken surprised, surprised because of the change in uncle's attitude to him. It seemed like he didn't expect uncle to be this possessive of me, as did my two brothers when it came to him.
"Sorry, I'm surprising you."
"I hope Mr. Ken doesn't do anything like this again in the future."
Ken was silent after hearing the reply from uncle. I can't say anything right now because the uncle who suddenly replied to Ken, made me lose the perfect time to talk. Uncle thrust his hand forward, asking me to immediately walk back. I could only obey my uncle and continue my footsteps with the previous glance towards Ken. When my eyes look at his eyes, the focus of my eyes also goes to the paper that is right behind his head. A paper Ken just put on.
'Thank you for making me realize someone important in my life.'
"Uncle, can Zeta wait for Uncle to pick up the car in the front lobby along with Ken?" I asked after walking 3 steps, making Ken look straight at me.
"Miss..."
"Ken won't do anything bad to Zeta. Zeta knows what Uncle is worried about. Zeta, please?" cut me.
"Alright," replied the Uncle with great force.
Uncle also asked Ken's bodyguards to go pick up the car in the parking lot with him, leaving me both with Ken in this quiet hallway. Ken and I looked back for a few seconds until I decided to walk back to the front lobby of the school, where students were picked up by their drivers.
Ken is still keeping his words by walking 1 meter away from me. I didn't ask him to come near me either. I like the distance we've now created, the distance we probably should have maintained. Distance where none of us should have tried to get close or away. The distance that should have allowed us to maintain our childhood relationship without involving a single feeling.
Arriving at the front lobby, I immediately sat down on the long chair. Ken took a seat, of course staying 1 meter away from me. I took something out of my jacket pocket, something I had long wanted to give back to the owner. I put the Aunt Lily bracelet to the right of my seat, making Ken immediately see his mother's bracelet.
"Natasha gave this bracelet back to me and I accepted it back by saying that I would bear all the guilt of hers. I think the moment he confessed everything to you, I didn't bear his guilt anymore."
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry for all the bad things I've done. I beg you to forgive me and I beg you not to hate me."
"What's your reason for saying something like that? Have I ever shown you that I hate you?" my real reply was quite surprised to hear the sentence that just came out of his mouth.
"..."
Ken went silent and took his mother's bracelet. We stayed silent for a long time and uncle still did not come. I didn't expect uncle would give me a long time to talk to Ken. I just want a few minutes, not all this time.
"Can't this bracelet...."
"They?!" call someone to cut out Ken's words.
"Sister Alvin?" I said after seeing who called me, making Ken follow my gaze.
Alvin was running towards us. I stood up from my seat and walked over to him, trying to keep him from running again. He stopped right in front of me while trying to catch his breath, he did not forget to give his signature smile and of course his gentle gaze. Now I know for sure why her blue eyes made me want to dive in, made her come into my life so easily, and made me love her.
Her blue eyes are blue eyes passed down by the man who was the first love of my life. His blue eyes are the same blue eyes as mine, the blue eyes that make me unable to hate my father. Now I can really see if the man standing in front of me right now is my older brother, a different older sibling mother to me.
I really wanted to ask him one question, one that I might not be able to ask him. I looked back into his eyes, making me see myself in his eyes, the me who was currently giving a sad look to him.
"Are you okay?"
I just nodded. I knew that the nod I gave in response was a lie that Alvin also knew. He would rather believe my answer than ask further questions. I once thought how many lies I gave to others and that person knew the lies I gave because seeing how easy I was to read like this.
"Should I skip the next lesson?"
"No, I don't want Big Brother to do such a disservice."
"But to me it's not a bad thing."
"Sister," I called to make Alvin focus more on me.
"All right, I'll call you. Seeing you now is enough. Promise me to go on a date with me."
I got stuck in her blue eyes again and just nodded.
"All right, I'm back in class. Call me when you get home."
Again I just nodded. Alvin walked closer to me, trying to gently rub my hair. Before that happened, my body regressed as soon as Alvin's body approached me. This made Alvin's hand float in the air and made the atmosphere between us awkward. I advanced my body then pulled his hand floating in the air and placed it on top of my head. Alvin slowly rubbed my hair gently after previously being quite hesitant because of my actions. I ventured to look her eyes back, eyes that were now filled with all sorts of questions.
"I love you Brother Alvin" I said with tears in my eyes and a smile.
This will be the first and last time I can say that I love him as a man. After this, I will no longer be able to see him as the man I love but as an older brother. This is the last chance in my life to be able to express my true feelings to the man I love.
"Your speech and the face you're showing are very different, Zeta."
"..."
"Something happens, right?" tanyanya.
"I'm going to tell you where we're dating" I said just as the break bell rang. I am so thankful to have been saved by the bell.
Alvin stopped rubbing my hair and looked at me for a while until he finally started walking back into school. He kept looking at me every time he stepped on his feet, trying to make sure I was okay. And I, once again could only give a smile that seemed to be interpreted by him as a farewell smile.
"You really love him" Ken said after Alvin completely disappeared from our sight.
"Love will end miserably" I replied with a tear, leaving Ken a little surprised and worried. Ken almost stepped closer to me but I gave him a look telling him to stay where he was and that allowed him to stay where he stood.
"Everyone wishes his love would end in happiness. You cannot go before God to judge the end of your love story."
"I do not judge the end of my love story, God has given me little answer to the end of my love story. Both of us, I think have a bad destiny when it comes to love."
"Something really happened?"
"Something happens in a person's life every second."
I walked back to where I was sitting. Ken was still standing in his position, which was different only now that his body was facing to the left, facing towards me. I know and understand how easy I am to read. What I showed you today, sooner or later both Ken and Alvin will find out. And between the two men, Ken would know first given how easily he could gather information about me. Even if I could compare it to William, Ken was quicker at getting information.
Tin!
The sound of the car horn shocked me and Ken too. I looked at the car that had just honked and found it was neither my car nor Ken's. Now Ken is getting closer to me, afraid that someone in the car will do something bad to me. The car's glass was lowered and a familiar face was seen, a new face this morning I saw through a photo. The face that made my parents' love story and my love story break. A face that I didn't want to see in this fast time after I learned all the truth that happened.
"Are you Zeta?"
"Who are you?" reply Ken while covering my body with his large body.
"Zeta, can we talk? There's something I really want Aunt to talk about."
"But who is An..."
"Ken, turn off all your communication tools and don't let our whereabouts be traced. I'm going to depend on you again" I said, cutting Ken while pulling Ken's lower jacket.
