Mentari in the Night Sky
The Past: The Truth of a Tone

The sound of the piano woke me up. I immediately took the clock on my bedside table which showed the number 03:05 am. The loud piano sounds more and more, making me try to wake myself up so as not to go back to sleep. After being sure that my consciousness had fully returned, I walked out of the room towards the source of the sound. Hearing from the game played, it seems like the mother who is playing the piano especially Moonlight Sonata who is filling this house.

Just as I opened my bedroom door, my two brothers also opened their bedroom door and made the three of us exchange glances. I took my feet out of the room, while my two brothers decided to stay in their room. I think they know if the mother is thinking about something until finally decided to play the piano in the morning blind and of course their presence will not make the mother can express what she feels. My mother revealed her heart to me more often than to my two brothers.

Slowly I started down the stairs to the first floor. I looked outside the house for a few seconds and saw some of the servants' room lights on. There was no way the sound of a piano so loud wouldn't wake them up. I don't think you play the piano in the music room but the piano is in the living room because if you play the piano in the music room then there will be no sound audibly. I immediately found my mother blindly playing the piano in front of her, playing her favorite sonata and also the sonata I hated the most. I decided to stay quietly leaning on one of the pillars until the mother's game was over, I didn't want to disturb the mother who was venting her emotions.

There's only one strange thing, where did you when this piano could wake up the servants who were outside the house while you were inside the house?

The soft hands of the mother stopped playing the piano, but the sonata she was playing had not yet finished. He suddenly slammed the piano lid in front of him quite hard and cupped his hands together while raising his head up, like someone praying. Instead of praying, I would rather think that my mother was angry with God because the gaze she gave was a look of anger. This was the first time I saw my mother's gaze filled with anger. Something really bad must have happened.

I lost the momentum to approach my mother.

"Did Mom wake you up?" mother asked as soon as she got me standing on the pillar beside the piano while showing an awkward smile.

"Zetaasa Mommy woke up almost everyone in this house," I replied awkwardly and quite hesitantly.

"really?"

"Didn't you wake up?" my question while nodding.

"Your father is still busy with the company's acquisition process..."

"Mom knows everything?" cut me.

"Of course, even when Zeta says nothing, I'll know."

Mom walked over to me and pulled my body to sit on the sofa. He turned on the light, making me able to clearly see his tears that had not been completely erased on his cheeks. I just got back from Wales last night. Neither me nor my two brothers welcomed his arrival because the three of us were already sleeping soundly and who would have thought the mother actually gave us a message in the morning blind.

I took the tissue in front of me and gave it to mother, making mother a little stunned before finally rubbing the tissue onto her cheek, making no more tears on her face.

"Did something happen?" ask me after making sure mom is okay.

"According to Zeta, what's the reason you really like Moonlight Sonata?"

"Because Moonlight Sonata exemplifies one way to vent the feelings of sadness due to loss of love in an elegant way. I told Zeta this."

"Because Mom experienced that love triangle.

"What does Mom mean?" I just don't understand the different answers you gave me.

"Father, Mother, and one woman are trapped in a love triangle. If Beethoven does not manage to get the love of the woman he loves, Mother manages to get the man she loves. Unlike Beethoven who knew from the beginning if he would never get his love, I realized it too late and only realized it now if I also would never get your father's love."

"What are you trying to say? I love you so much, even so many people are envious of you…"

"Alvin, Ryuzaki Nakamoto, he's your father's biological son who was born 2 months before William," the mother's cut creates silence.

"..."

"Your father wants your relationship with Ken to end and also doesn't want your relationship to continue with Alvin because you're both blooded."

"Tell Zeta if you're lying right now."

Mom put her foot away from me, towards her room. I clenched my hands together, trying to stay calm. It cannot be the man who fills my heart today, the man who teaches me the meaning of a dream, the man who teaches me that not forever waiting is a form of love, the man who made me know my heart, there's no way he's my brother. And there's no way Dad's cheating on mom's back.

There's no way God could have created this cruel fate, right?

"The woman was Alvin's birth mother. The woman we met at the time was her twin sister. Alvin was raised to be his tantric son because until now the tantenya did not have a child and the Nakamoto Family needed a successor.”

"..."

"They?" call mom slow after seeing me just silence not saying anything.

"It's all a lie, isn't it?"

"Mother met the woman, the woman who always filled your father's heart even when he was with us. She gave the results of the DNA test to the mother. And do you know what hurts the most, honey?”

"Can Zeta listen to the next sentence not now?" ask me while standing from where I sit.

"Ken's mother, Aunt Lily, she died because she caught your father and Ken's father cheating on her. Aunt Lily tried to tell Mom what happened but the accident that took her life just happened 1 hour after she caught all the photos of your father and her husband cheating on her. The accident was arranged by your father and also by Ken's father."

Mother's words made me stand still not continuing my footsteps leaving the room.

How could?

How could?

How could?

How could?

How could?

How could you do all that?

How can a father who always says love me suddenly turn into a father I don't recognize?

I don't care if you're having an affair, but how could you kill someone?

How could you kill a mother for a child who was only 7 years old at the time?

How could you make Ken lose his mother?

L'm...

L'm...

I'm really the misfortune that God sent for Ken.

"What should Zeta do?" I asked while crying.

"What should Zeta do?" my question once again made mother come to hug me very tightly.

"Mom will protect you. I promised I'd protect you."

"Nobody can protect Zeta right now. Even Mother. It hurts all this for Zeta" I said, crying in my mother's arms.

"I'm sorry, Mom."
