Chapter 9: Birthday

Since Layla knows, if Kei's parents reject him because he is still a child. At least that's what Layla disagued from her parents.Layla increasingly dissolved in her sadness. He no longer wanted to go to school, Layla locked herself in her room every day and spent painting. She shows her love on canvas.

"Layla baby, you're still a teenager. And you still have plenty of time to learn." Anita smiled at Layla

"Then?" Layla raised both eyebrows waiting for Anita's next answer.

"You go to school until you graduate, and then you can marry Kei. The future is long, we don't know what will happen, right? Many things can change at any time." Anita smiled gently rubbed Layla's hair.

"The future is long, Mom. And the change is certain, but Mom and Dad can't change how I feel about Kei." Layla replied with one right hand gently touching Anita's cheek.

Anita was stunned for a moment. "Yes, I know it's boy." Anita swallows her hard saliva, "Mom and Dad don't forbid, you're dating Kei." Anita no longer knew what to answer.

Surya who had just been silent, finally spoke up. "Layla dear, I promise to do my best to get you married to Kei. But promise me you'll go to school again."

"Really Dad?"

Surya nodded his head and smiled. "It's really dear."

Layla smiled and hugged her two parents tightly. "Daddy promise?" ask Layla.

"Dad promise, baby." Solar pecks Layla's head.

"Now you rest." Anita takes off Layla's embrace.

Layla nodded quickly and then stepped into her private room. There is little hope, there is a light behind uncertainty. But at least there will always be effort and hope at every step Layla.

Surya and Anita looked at each other for a moment and then they lowered their heads. There was pain, pain and disappointment in their hearts.

"Yes Rabb, why did you give us such a heavy test. If we knew it would be like this, maybe not having children was your best choice for us." Anita showed both her palms complaining to the Most Alive. The next day Surya and Anita have Layla's 17th birthday party. Surya invites all of Layla's schoolmates and also invites many pretty handsome boys to come to Layla's birthday party. The birthday party starts at 15:30.

From morning Surya and Anita prepare everything. Layla's three friends are Valeri, Asha and Stela. After all the preparations were done, Surya and Anita asked Layla to immediately dress up neatly using a light brown dress that Anita had provided.

Asha speechlessly looked at Layla and raised her two shoulders as a sign of her giving up. "Eum."

"I just found out you have a lot of good-looking guy friends." Valeri doesn't want to give up.

"I don't know them" Layla said flatly.

"Unacquainted? But how did they know you were having a birthday?" Stela looked at Layla who lowered her head. Layla shook her head that she didn't know.

"Laila?" greet Anita from the back.

Layla looked at Anita and said. "Yes mother?"

"Why are you sitting here?" anita asked and pulled Layla's hand to get up from her seat.

"What's the matter, Mom?" Layla got up from her seat lazily.

"Come, I'll introduce you to Mom's friend's son" Anita invites Layla to meet a handsome, blonde-haired boy. "This is Rico."

Rico smiled and reached out to Layla. But Layla just silently looked at Rico's hand without even wanting to shake it. Finally, Rico pulled back his hand.

"Mother is staying? you guys just talk." Anita kisses Layla's cheek for a moment and leaves Rico and Layla together. Anita hopes Layla will befriend Rico and can distract Layla from Kei. But Anita's guess is wrong. Layla just stood still with her head lowered without any conversation. Makes Rico clumsy and doesn't know what to say. Eventually Rico goes to blend in with the others and leaves Layla standing by.

"He seems crazy." Rico whispers to one of his friends and is heard clearly by Anita who happens to pass in front of Rico. And the thing Rico said to his friend was conveyed again to his other friend. Finally at the party it became noisy with the word Layla said crazy. All the invited guests stopped making a move and were speechless watching Layla who was just standing around with her head lowered.

"Let's go home" Rico told a friend.

While Anita can only be silent and sobbing crying to see her daughter who is rumored crazy. Surya hugged Anita with mixed feelings. There is sadness and anger, but who should be angry with? due to the fact, Layla looks like a crazy person.

"Dad said Kei was invited, but why didn't Kei come" Layla said softly with her face still down.

"Layla understands, baby, maybe she has other business." Surya tried to convince Layla.

"There's no way Dad, Dad's lying!" layla looked at Surya and walked closer to Surya.

"Dad ti-?"

Surya's words were cut off by Layla, "Dad lied!" Layla screamed loudly as her eyes glazed over, "Why are you lying!" Layla walks closer to Surya and Anita. "If you didn't invite him, just tell him what it is.Don't lie to me Daddy!"

Surya was silent not knowing what to say anymore. At this time the position of Surya and Anita is wrong. Honest or lying is just as wrong as it is. Layla will stay the same and continue like that as long as she doesn't see Kei.

"Bad fuck! Bad mom!" Layla screamed hysterically and then cried so much that it made Anita and Surya confused to face Layla. While Asha, Valeri and Stela just silently watched everything.

"Take Layla to a psychiatrist!" exclaimed a middle-aged woman, the woman was Surya's brother who from morning at Surya's house helped make a party.

"You think Layla's crazy?" Surya feels like he's throwing dirt. Her chest tightened between not receiving but in reality Layla showed abnormal symptoms.

"Are you blind? See her? the behavior is not normal."

Anita and Surya looked at Layla who kept crying very hard and from her lips called out Kei's name.

"You're evil! you're evil!" layla shouted looking at Surya and Anita.

"Layla, my daughter." Anita looked at Layla's nanar.

"Y!!!"

Layla again screamed hysterically for Kei, then she ran crying into her room. Surya and Anita can only stand still not knowing what else to do.

"Layla, what should you do, son" said Anita, tearfully.

"It's Mom." Surya hugged Anita.

"If you knew this would be the case, I'd rather not have children!" exclaimed Anita felt tightness in the chest, not that she hated Layla, but Layla's state that made her very disappointed and hurt.

"Mom, don't talk like that, Layla our daughter." Surya looked at Anita, what Anita felt was the same as how Surya felt. But the nature of men is more silent.

"But the truth sir!

" Yes, I know Mom." Surya continued to hug Anita to be calmer

Valeri, Stela, and Asha who were silently watching, started to feel bad. They finally came home.

"Om, Auntie, we go home first" Asha said as she greeted Anita and Surya.

"Thank you for coming." Anita looked at Layla's three friends. Then Asha and her two friends leave Layla's house feeling sad and clueless. There were a lot of questions on their minds about Layla. Is Layla really crazy?

Brother Surya considers that Layla has gone mad must be taken to a psychiatrist or to a mental hospital to get serious treatment. Brother Surya considers that Layla's love for Kei is just lust. And that's overkill for the size of Layla.

"They can't tell the difference between love because of lust and the majesty of divine love." murmured Layla. "Don't they know Kei is half of my soul, there's no way I can replace half of my soul with another." he muttered with tears.

To esokan the next morning. After a night of thought and discussion with Anita. Surya decides to take Layla abroad to school there. They will be living abroad for a while. And Surya's choice fell on the Dutch state. Surya still believes that he can change Layla's feelings by moving away from Kei.

Then Anita persuaded Layla to go with them to the Netherlands for school there. For the sake of fun to his two parents. Layla also agreed to move to the Netherlands. Anita and Surya also take care of everything for his departure to the Netherlands.

"Netherlands Ma'am?" ask Layla.

Anita nodded her head, she stroked Layla's hair gently, "Mommy loves you so much, son."

"Layla loves Mom and Dad too, but don't separate us Mom."

Anita nodded her head smiling at Layla. Then he got up from his seat and set his foot toward Surya.

"You take good care of Layla at home, I have business first. Don't let Layla run away from home again." Surya looked at Anita who was just sitting on the chair.

"No Dad, I'm not going anywhere. I followed Dad's wishes, The important thing is that Dad and Mom are happy and don't fight anymore" Layla said from the door.

"Laila? come here son."

Layla walked up to Surya and Anita and sat down in a chair, "what else is it, ma'am?" ask Layla.

Anita shook her head quickly. "No baby, I just want you to have breakfast first." Anita got up from her seat and prepared some breakfast for Layla.

"You spend the milk and the bread, let your body not be thin like this." Anita poured warm milk in a glass and put it in front of Layla. That day Layla will try to follow what is the will of her Father and Mother. Without changing his feelings for Kei.

"Good Mom."

Layla took the bread on the plate, then she chewed it slowly. Although Layla is with her parents, all she has in mind is Kei.
