Kei And Layla

Kei And Layla
Chapter 41: The depth of the soul

Among the noise in Jakarta, Yuda was spotted that afternoon with two burly men planning Layla's abduction in a car parked on the side of the highway.

Yuda asks the two men to kidnap Layla, as Layla makes a pilgrimage to the funeral next Friday. And take Layla to the abandoned and unused factory of Yuda's company.

"I want you to not fail, and do it very neatly without leaving a trace, you understand?!" ask Yuda.

The two burly men nodded their heads, staring at Yuda. "Understanding" they answered in unison.

Yuda smiles cynically at the two men, he still holds the wound of Dinda's death, and Judah imposes this mistake on Layla. If Dinda dies and can't have Kei, Layla will have the same fate as Dinda. That's what's been going on in Judah's mind all along.

After they finished planning the kidnapping, the two burly men got out the car door and left Yuda alone in the car.

"The debt of life must be paid with life" Judah laughed. "Just wait for Layla's turn."

After that Yuda runs his car back to his house. During this time he noticed Kei who often met Layla, and it made Judah's wounds deeper in the death of Dinda Putri just his way. He felt his life meant nothing more. Without Dinda, his favorite son. His life is empty and empty.

Layla walks into the kitchen making warm tea for Raiden who has just arrived.

Soon Layla returned with two glasses of warm tea on a small tray.

Then he put it on the table.

"Tumben you came so early? you're not working?" layla asked, then she sat opposite Raiden on the front porch of the house.

Raiden smilingly looked at Layla's face, then he picked up a glass on the table and sipped warm tea.

"There's something I want to talk to you about" Raiden replied. Then he put the glass on the table.

"About what?" ask Layla.

"Application."

Layla's two eyebrows linked to Raiden's.

"Master?" Layla was a little surprised and did not understand Raiden's intentions.

"Yes." Yeah." Raiden shifted his chair to get closer to Layla.

"As a sister, I want to see you happy. So?," Raiden sighed deeply. "I'm going to propose to Kei for you, Layla."

Layla momentarily fell silent, but the next second she laughed out loud. Making Raiden frown at Layla not understanding why Layla was laughing.

"Why are you laughing?" ask Raiden.

Layla slowly lowered the volume of her laughter. Then he laughed a little at Raiden.

"How do you know I'm not happy without Kei?" Layla asked back.

Raiden was silent for a moment, trying to digest Layla's question. "Didn't you love her so much?"

"I do love Kei but that doesn't mean I'm unhappy with my choice."

Raiden knitted his two eyebrows even more incomprehensibly. "You mean?"

Layla got up from her seat directly approaching Raiden and stood behind Raiden. Layla's hands hugged Raiden from behind.

"Happiness lies not in other people, but happiness comes from here" Layla said, pressing Raiden's left chest.

Raiden nodded his head in understanding what Layla was saying.

"Then?" ask Raiden.

Layla whispered in Raiden's ear. "Living alone or with Kei, it was a choice but," Layla peeked at Raiden for a moment. "My love for Kei won't change, you know why?" ask Layla.

Raiden shook his head. "I don't know."

"Love is a gift without having to get a return. While Love is consistent." Layla glanced at Raiden for a moment, then she stood up straight back on the chair.

Raiden frowned, he scratched his head trying to digest everything Layla said.

"Layla, you're a unique girl." Raiden looked at Layla in admiration.

"So, how? do you still want to wave Kei to me?" ask Layla.

Raiden chuckled, scratching his non-itchy nape. "No Layla."

Layla smiled, then she switched the conversation about her plan to open one subject in her school, the art of painting. And Layla's plan is fully supported by Raiden.

Meanwhile, Kei was talking to his parents. He made it his point to marry Layla. But Kei's parents remain opposed to Kei's desire to marry Layla to Kei.

"Why Mom, Dad?" ask Kei.

"Mom said no yes no!" Alya looked at Kei annoyed.

"But ma'am, how long are you going to be like this?" ask Kei again.

"Until now, Mom and Dad won't agree you're married to Layla." Alya got up and sat down and just passed by, while Abdul just kept quiet without saying a word.

Kei got up and stood up, he looked at his father for a moment and then went out of the house feeling disappointed for the second time towards his parents.

Kei left the house, and took his car slowly. He intended to go to the park not far from Layla's house, to calm down.

Shortly after, Kei arrived at the park. He pulled his car over and exited the car door straight to the park and sat on a bench.

Kei circulated his gaze around the garden. This park reminds Kei, when he was with Layla during school. He and Layla will spend time when they miss each other's pampered fences between the light rain. Kei smiled to himself given all that.

Kei continued to look at all corners of the garden, until his eyes were fixed on a woman sitting with a pen and some white sheets of paper.

"Laila?" mummy Kei slowly.

Then he got up and walked over to Layla. "Layla, are you here too?" hello Kei.

Layla turned her head, her face looking up at Kei who was already standing next to her.

"Ah, are you Kei?"

Kei immediately sat down next to Layla. And his eyes looked at the paper Layla had in hand. "You're painting?" ask Kei.

"No ", Layla replied with a smile.

Layla noticed Kei's gloomy face. "You why?" ask Layla.

Kei sighed deeply, telling him what made him moody.

Layla sighed deeply, then she exhaled slowly. "Key."

"Hmm" Kei replied staring at Layla.

"Look!" Layla pointed at a skinny little boy who was crashing across the street.

Kei turned his head and looked at the little boy across the street, "Yes, that little boy looks skinny."

Layla smiled, her hands touching Kei's cheeks to take Kei's eyes off the little boy.

"Look for solitude at night, make peace with yourself. Because," Layla lowered her hand. "You must rejoice and laugh otherwise your soul will continue to starve, Kei."

Kei lowered his head for a moment, staring at Layla's two eyeballs. " Day and night I thought," Kei touched Layla's cheek. "I asked myself, what am I looking for?"

"I love you, and I engrave your name with blood." Kei looked at Layla with glassy eyes.

Layla smilingly looked at Kei, she gently rubbed Kei's cheek. "You told me once that life is full of uncertainty" Layla lowered her hand. "Then why do you still have pride in the morning and you withdraw at night?" ask Layla.

Layla put her pen and paper on the bench. Layla's hands cupped Kei's face.

"I will show you beauty in solitude, bitterness in solitude" Layla lowered her hand. "Look!" Layla pointed at a bow that looked withered.

Kei averted his gaze to look at the flower Layla pointed at.

"In solitude, in solitude. You'll find Him in your love that you've always adored Kei" Layla touched Kei's hand. "Use your race, then you will find pleasure in solitude and every suffering."

Kei sighed deeply, "but Layla." he said softly.

"I know it's hard, but looking inside you at your deepest, you'll find Me in every breath you breathe." Layla's glassy eyes stared at Kei.

Kei smiled bitterly, nodding his head to understand what Layla said. "Thank you." Kei hugged Layla tightly. Kei always feels calm when he talks to Layla. Layla is able to provide peace to Kei.

But Layla does not want Kei to continue to depend on others. Kei should be an independent and independent soul. If Layla is gone one day, Kei will be able to overcome himself without Layla.

Kei understands and will live as Layla said even though it takes time and a long process to become a strong-spirited and independent person.

Life is not like Mathematics, it is full of false shadows and uncertainties. To love something invisible, maybe we should go a little crazy, why not?
