Chapter 39: Whose fault?

Upon returning from Layla's house, Kei stopped by her parents' house for a while. After that Kei immediately returned home to Yuda's house. Throughout the journey Kei never stopped thinking about Layla. Making it all the more wrong over Dinda's death. It did not feel like Kei finally reached the Yuda courtyard. He pulled the car over and went straight into the house.

"Plakkk!!

Suddenly, Yuda slaps Kei, not accepting Kei's attitude, who dares to meet Layla when Dinda is gone. To Yuda, Kei is Dinda's killer.

" Go now!" exclamation Yuda. "I don't want to keep a murderer in my house!" pekik Yuda's.

"Pa," said Kei. "Don't misunderstand me first." Kei holding his cheek stared intently at Yuda.

"Misunderstand me you said,"-Yuda widened his eyes-" You don't have Kei's heart!" yell Yuda.

Kei lowered his head, he did not reply to Judah's curse, because for Kei it was useless. Whatever he said would be wrong in Judah's eyes. Kei chose silence and let Yuda berate her as he pleased.

"Now you're gone!" exclamation Yuda.

Yuda pushes Kei's body out of the house door. After that Yuda threw the suitcase containing Kei's clothes which he had put himself in the suitcase, while Kei was away.

"Go!!" Yuda stared intently full of hatred.

Kei was silent for a moment, staring at the two eyeballs of Yuda which held wounds and disappointment. Kei's heart ached, not because he admitted that it was all his fault. But his heart aches to see Judah that way and makes him go awry.

Kei picked up his suitcase, then he walked back slowly with his eyes looking straight at Yuda.

"Jaga yourself Pa.." he said softly. Tears dripped from the corner of Kei's eyes. Kei immediately turned back while wiping his tears that almost fell. Then he walked to the car and got into the car. He started running his car out of Yuda's yard. But on the side of the road Kei stopped his car not far from Yuda's house.

"Yes Rabb, am I wrong to love Layla?" kei asked softly to the Owner of Love, with both hands clutching the steering wheel of the car, his gaze blankly forward. He stayed in the car for a long time, thinking about his increasingly wrong life.

"Layla, I have to see Layla." Kei wakes up from his daydream, and he runs his car back to Layla's house.

Arriving at Layla's house, Kei sees Raiden with Layla on the front porch. Kei immediately walked over to Layla and Raiden.

"Look? you're back again?" ask Layla.

Kei lowered his head for a moment. "Yes" said Kei.

"Sit down." Layla looked at Kei's confused face. Then he invited Kei to sit next to him.

"Thank you." Kei looked at Layla, then he glanced at Raiden for a moment then turned to look at Layla.

"What's up, Kei?" ask Layla.

Kei started to tell her what had happened at Yuda's house. "What do I do, Layla?" kei asked at the end he told me.

Layla sighed deeply, she looked at Kei's two eyeballs deeply. Layla understood what was going on with Kei. With a reflex, Layla immediately hugged Kei tightly. And Kei slowly returned Layla's embrace.

Raiden who had noticed to throw his face to the side saw Kei and Layla embrace. Making her fear of losing Layla even greater.

"Ehem!"

Raiden pura coughed, and it was heard Layla and Kei. They let go of their arms and turned to look at Raiden who pura to drink mineral water in a glass.

"You okay?" ask Layla.

"Yes, just cough" Raiden replied glancing momentarily at Layla and Kei. Then he put the glass on the table.

"How's Layla?" ask Kei.

Layla turned her eyes to Kei.

"You, how do you want it?" Layla asked back.

"If you think that's best, just do it." Layla touched Kei's hand on the table.

"But?" - Kei touched Layla's hand back -" What about Papa Yuda?"

"Begi-?"

"If you feel sorry for Judah and want totality to take care of him, why should you be confused?" Raiden interrupts Layla's speech.

Kei stared intently at Raiden, for a moment he kept silent and tried to digest what Raiden had said. In the next instant Kei nodded his head in a nod to understand what Raiden was saying.

"Yes, you're right." Kei smilingly looked at Raiden then turned to look at Layla again.

"Layla, I'm going home first. I know what I have to do." Kei's outstretched hand touched Layla's cheek and rubbed it gently. It makes Raiden even more jealous. But what can he do? his relationship with Layla has no clarity. Close but not a lover, a lover but never a statement from Layla herself.

"What's your decision?" ask Layla.

"I'll just go home to my parents." Kei lowered his hand from Layla's cheek.

"Okay, it's up to you." Layla smiled seeing Kei was calmer.

"Layla, Raiden.I'm home."

Raiden and Layla nodded their heads at Kei who was stepping his feet towards the car. Layla waves her hand as Kei's car starts walking away from Layla's yard.

"Citya..."

Layla turned her head to look at Raiden who looked glum. "Yes?"

"Are you going back to Kei?" asked Raiden hesitatingly.

Layla laughed at Raiden's question. He understood why Raiden said that. Layla stood up and approached Raiden. Then he whispered in Raiden's ear.

"My love for Kei hasn't changed. But I love you so much and won't leave you, Rai." Layla's hand was immediately stretched out and pinched Raiden's waist.

"Awwww!!" Raiden screaming.

Layla immediately ran into the house to the kitchen, to help Mbok Darmi cook.

Raiden fell silent, his eyebrows twitching together. He was trying to make more sense of the word Layla just said. So that he is not too heartbroken if in the end, Layla will return to Kei. Raiden shrugged his shoulders and stood up and followed Layla into the kitchen.

Meanwhile, Kei has reached his home. Both of his parents were surprised why Kei came home when Judah was still grieving.kei began to tell all the events that had happened after Dinda's death.

"Why should he put a wrong on you, son?" ask Abdul.

"Come on," Kei got up from the chair. "You are guilty too" said Kei, he stood up and just walked into his room.

Abdul and Anita looked at each other after Kei said that. What Kei said was true. Abdul and Anita are also guilty of blaming the person who is most guilty.

Time continues to go slow. Kei was pensive on the balcony of his room for some time. He thought Layla also thought of all the accusations of Judah. Makes it more dilemma.

"Layla, I will keep this love until death picks me up" Kei said softly.

Kei got up from his seat, then he stepped his foot into the room, he threw his body on the bed. "Layla" he said with blank eyes, staring at the sky of the room.

Every minute, all Kei thought about was Layla. "Since the first time you met, your shadow has always been with me, giving me happiness and also giving me wounds" Kei said. "I give you honey but you poison me, Lord, if by loving You I must suffer, I will. What I'm waiting for right now is our meeting at the time of death."

Slowly Kei closed his eyes, and the dark greeted him. Kei is fast asleep with his beautiful dreams that never come true.
