Kei And Layla

Kei And Layla
Chapter 47: Weak

This night was cold and silent, unlike the night before. Raiden and Layla were sitting in the living room.

"It's late, you better take a break." Raiden stood up and immediately approached Layla. Then he pushed Layla's wheelchair into the room.

Arriving at the room, Raiden lifts Layla's body from her wheelchair and holds her. Then he laid Layla's body on the bed.

Raiden noticed Layla's gloomy face. "Are you okay." Raiden rubbed Layla's hair gently.

Layla just nodded her head without looking at Raiden's face. "Yes, I'm fine."

Raiden got out of bed, then pulled out a blanket to cover Layla's body so as not to get cold. "When you have anything, call me." Raiden stared at Layla's two eyeballs.

Again Layla just nodded her head. For a moment Raiden was silent looking at Layla's face. Then he turned around and turned off the lights. After that, he moved his foot towards the door of the room. "Good night Princess." Raiden closed the door.

Layla looked at the sky of the room, her eyes hard closed. In the dim light, the shadow of Kei's face played in his mind. Layla's tears rolled down the pillow.

Memories are like bitter pills. Life is like a shadow that flows like a dying soul. No longer able to fill the bland with other delusions.

Look into the pain-filled eyes. The lie that is too ordinary is only to find a speck of peace that can no longer create passion.

Layla breathed deeply. Try to close your eyes, even if you don't expect tomorrow to be different from today. In fact, it will all repeat in the same place.

Layla gave a rough sigh, she was no longer able to hide the wound in her heart. Here in this room. Layla place can do anything without having a purplish. Where happiness has frozen, a distant past has left itself. An increasingly aging existence and incarnate an endless void and silence.

Minutes passed, Layla finally fell asleep with tears still flowing from the corner of her eyes.

Dreams also welcome Layla.

"Key, are you here?" ask Layla, "But? who's she?" Layla looked at Kei who was standing with a beautiful woman in a park where Layla and Kei used to spend time.

"Key?" ask Layla again.

But Kei just passed by leaving Layla who was trying to chase after him. Layla falls on the grass. It felt cold at Layla's feet.

"Key!!"

"Kei." said Layla Lirih.

"Y!!" Layla screamed in her sleep, then she opened her eyes and woke up. He sat on the bed, his eyes staring at the whole room.

"Kei." she said softly, she cupped her face and cried, it was just a dream.

"Where are you, Kei.I miss" muttered Layla Lirih.

Layla lowered her hands, then she looked at her two legs which could no longer move. "No, Kei's alive. I have to find him." Layla lifted the blanket that covered her legs, then she threw the blanket on the floor.

Layla tried to raise her right leg with both hands. But his efforts remain nil. His feet could not move at all. "Come on Layla, you can do it" he said encouraging himself.

"Come on, Layla ."

Layla continued to try to lift her legs, finally her efforts paid off even though she shifted a little, and that only made Layla more difficult. His right leg dangled under the bed. Then Layla tried again to shift her left leg, and the result remained the same.

Layla tried to get down but, her legs still could not be moved. Finally Layla was desperate, she hit both her legs with her hands.

"Useless! no use!" Layla kept hitting her feet as tears rolled down her clothes.

Layla tried again. He looked at the table near the bed, then his right hand grabbed the table, while his left hand gripped the edge of the bed.

Layla tried to get down, but she fell to the floor and fell face down with the table she was holding for the prisoner. The glass, and all the items on the table fell to the floor in a mess. While the little table hit Layla's back.

"CORROGG!!"

The sound of glasses and items falling to the floor was heard by Raiden who was on the sofa outside Layla's room.

Layla grimaced in pain, she tried to shift the table, but her efforts were in vain. He cried as both hands hit the floor many times.

"Useless! no use!" Layla screams in disappointment towards herself.

"Square"

The sound of the door opening, and the room was lit up brightly, apparently Raiden woke up and went straight into Layla's room and turned on the lights.

Raiden immediately approached Layla and raised the table that hit her body. Then Raiden lifted Layla's body and carried her. "What are you doing?" asked Raiden while putting Layla's body on the bed. Raiden stared at the messy floor for a moment, then turned to look at Layla who was crying as she hiccupped.

Raiden climbed onto the bed, then hugged Layla tightly.

"I'm useless" Layla sobbed, "I'm just troubling other people."

"Ssttt" said Raiden, "don't talk like that, I'll always be there for you Layla."

"I dreamt of meeting Kei" Layla said.

Raiden rubbed Layla's back gently, giving her calm. Despite the pain that Raiden has suffered most of his life whenever Layla misses Kei. Layla could not open her heart to anyone else. Even though Raiden is the guy. All Layla thought about was Kei. But that's love, love is always consistent. Giving without expecting to receive change.

"Tomorrow we'll find Kei, now you're calm and rest, okay?" Raiden releases his arms, then lays Layla's body on the bed.

"You're never alone, there's me." Raiden wipes Layla's tears with his hands. Then he got out of bed and cleaned up all the messy stuff on the floor.

Layla notices Raiden, she cries out noiselessly, is there anything more painful when she sees Raiden's sincerity while Layla cannot repay him.

"I'm sorry, which always troubles you." Layla's eyes are glassy.

"Sstt, you've never troubled me, I've done all this out of compassion." Raiden smiled at Layla

"Thank you."

"Now you're resting?" said Raiden.

Layla nodded her head, "Yes."

Then Raiden tells Layla to sleep, and not do anything that could cause him harm. Then Raiden pegged the lights again and exited the room.

Raiden sat on the sofa, cupping his face.

"It's not just you who hurt Layla, I'm the same."

Night brings a fragile heart, trying to comfort a little the uncertainties of his life all along. Raiden struggled to stay afloat despite falling many times in the same place. Such a haughty night had robbed every light of beauty into something empty.

In the morning Raiden woke up, squinting for a moment. Then he got off the couch and stepped into the kitchen. "Bok, Layla's up?" ask Raiden

"Already Den, Neng Layla is neat" replied Mbok Darmi.

Raiden walked straight into Layla's room, still feeling the rest of the wound last night. Raiden opened the door, and Layla was sitting in a wheelchair.

"Again" Raiden smiled, approaching Layla.

"For Rai" Layla replied, her eyes still puffy.

"Let's have breakfast first, I'll be ready."

Raiden pushes Layla's wheelchair towards the dining table. After that Raiden went to his room to get ready.

Shortly after Raiden was ready, he went out of the room and approached Layla, then sat down next to her.

"Have you had breakfast?" asked Raiden, taking the milk glass on the table and then slowly wiping it.

"I'm full already." Layla smiled looking at Raiden.

"Okay, then we're leaving." Raiden put the glass on the table. Then he got up from the chair and pushed Layla into a wheelchair to take her to school to teach Layla the art of painting for nearly fifteen years.

Arriving at school, Valeri, Asha and Stela had already warmly welcomed Layla. Then push Layla's wheelchair against Raiden.

"I'll pick you up later in the day!" raiden looked at their backs.

"Yes!" layla looked back at Raiden.

Raiden turned back and stepped out to get back to work. Raiden will return to pick up Layla, who has been Raiden's routine for fifteen years. Maybe people will assume Raiden is a man*** who just wants to wait for Layla, while Layla can never repay Raiden's love. But that is the truth of love and compassion.
