Bar-Bar's Wife The Heir

Bar-Bar's Wife The Heir
Chapter 93 S2 Not Romantic

"Good morning, Mel." Melani saw the figure of a handsome man who last night managed to make her unable to sleep.

The word married always ringing in his ears. She prayed to marry a CEO. Not with the boss either. She never imagined spending the rest of her life with him.

"Breakfast for you!" The man named Jendra Dewandaru put a paper bag containing breakfast for Melani.

"It must be strong and vigorous because Kayla did not enter today. He's being treated in the hospital." Jendra passed by and went into his study.

Melani's shoulders slumped. It feels weak when you know you will work alone again. Kayla passed out yesterday. But he did not know that his friend was being treated.

Melani almost pulled out the contents of the paperbag that Jendra gave her, but the man reappeared at the door.

"Give me!" Jendra took the paperbag back. "My breakfast is in it too.

"Come with me!" Jendra invited him to eat together in the man's room.

"I've had breakfast, sir!"

"Follow me, Mel! We need to talk."

Basic Jendra! Just likes. Sometimes use my word, sometimes I.

Melani sighed and entered Jendra's room. They sat next to each other on the sofa.

"It's for you, and it's for me." Jendra took out two boxes of stock filled with chicken porridge. And he also took out two cups of coffee that was still warm.

"Mama's made."

Melani was no wonder because she guessed so. If the chicken porridge is sold on the roadside, it must be packed with boxes made from styrofoam.

"Eat, Mel!" his orders. "After this, we'll discuss yesterday's problem."

Jendra also had a hard time sleeping last night. He began to fall asleep at night before morning. He didn't even have breakfast.

Melani still spent the chicken porridge that tastes very good. He was used to not wasting food. After all, he had only enjoyed the two loaves of bread he had jam for his breakfast this morning.

Melani tidied up the lunchbox and put it back into the paperbag.

"Leave it. Let OB wash it!" jendra.

"Look, Mel."

Melani gasps because it seems like Jendra does want to discuss their problems.

"I spoke to my mom and dad. Instead of understanding my explanation, they were blatantly giving my blessing."

Melani rounded her eyes.

"Shock, right?" ask Jendra.

"Same. I do too, Mel!" Jendra pointed to himself.

"They told me to marry you."

"And in my opinion, it's useless for me to convince them, they won't believe it either."

"Then..."

"My advice, let them think so, Mel."

"But, Sir. How's it possible?"

"If we don't talk about marriage, they'll slowly understand."

"For now, it's just whatever they say."

"If they're home, you won't be troubled anymore."

Melani nodded. "I'm not sure this will work, sir."

"Just pray, good luck."

"I'm tired of having to keep convincing my mom, Mel. You know, we do a lot of work. A lot of projects are still going on and I don't have time to keep thinking about my mama's misunderstandings."

***

Several nights passed, and Melani and Jendra talked with the parents.

Melani looks nervous as Jendra picks her up. The man looked neat and looked fresh with the navi-colored blazer.

"We're not at a formal event, are we, sir?" tanya Melani is wearing a long-sleeved knee-length dress.

"No, so just relax."

Jendra drove his car to a fancy restaurant where his parents were waiting.

"The bottom line is, make my parents happy, Mel. That way, they'll be back soon. And after that, I'd say that we didn't find a match."

Melani nodded. He had no idea where Jendra would take this charade. He has never been involved in a relationship. No hypocrite, he who is not experienced also want to have a partner who will bring him a much better life.

They enjoyed dinner together after greeting each other kindly.

Melani several times glanced at Jendra and gave a code to talk first before the woman named Jenahara started it.

Jendra looked towards Melani who was as if giving the code. Instead of responding, Jendra was engrossed in devouring pudding on a small plate in front of him.

"Why? You wanna try?" Jendra asked so as to make Melani roll her eyeballs.

"No! It's there too, sir!" the answer.

Is it true that Jendra said that the holiday yesterday was purely because he was compassionate to Melani who worked too hard?

Didn't Jendra never take his girlfriend on vacation? Then am I wrong to think Melani is special to him?

During these few days, he was also busy thinking about his son. He would be happy if his son did have a special relationship with Melani.

As a mother, she wanted to have a good and smart daughter-in-law. He also wanted his son to marry a good girl.

"Mama and Papa will be back tomorrow" Surendra said.

"Why so fast?" ask Jendra.

"Why do your lips talk so while your heart cheers with excitement, ha?" ask the guy who can always guess.

Jendra laughed, "Why is it right, Pa?"

Jendra laughed again. "Actually it's not. I have a lot of work, Pa."

"Many projects are under way and I'm busy meeting here and there."

"You're free here, but I don't have time for you."

"Don't get busy" his mother replied. "Tell me if you don't want your time with Melani to be reduced."

Jendra laughs. "What makes you so eager to make Melani your daughter-in-law?"

"Why is Melani the only girl you take on vacation with you? Just the two of you?" Instead of answering her question, her mother gave her a question as well.

"How can you not think you have a relationship?"

"From the photo, I saw Melani's hand holding your waist tight."

Jendra looked at Melani who was also shocked. Both of them did not realize that at that time Melani was holding on tight even when they were stopping and taking photos together in some places they went through.

"That's probably because I'm afraid of falling, ma'am."

"Maybe?"

"You just don't look so sure, Mel." Jenahara smiled obliquely.

"If you're comfortable, it's not impossible that there will be likes, Mel."

Melani gasps. Why is everything not going their way? Why is he cornered now.

"That's not what you think, Ma. He always held on tight at that time. He even gripped my waist a few times."

"Mom don't overdo it."

Melani can breathe a sigh of relief as Jendra helps her to explain.

Jenahara felt her feelings as a mother were right. But, if Melani and Jendra don't admit what he can do.

"It." Surendra stopped the debate. "Our goal is to have dinner, not argue like this."

"If there's really no connection between you and Melani, papa represents mama, apologizes to you."

"Melani, sorry for the inconvenience."

"Mama's acting like that, probably because you feel you've chosen the right girl, Jend!"

Melani does not believe what she hears. He said the right girl.

Miss Jenahara thinks of me as a girl worthy of Mr Jendra?

"Mama just doesn't want you to come back the way you used to after Light undermines your trust."

"One more time, we're sorry Mel!"

Surendra stood up and grabbed Jenahara's hand. "We're home, baby!"

Jenahara smiled and nodded. "I'm sorry auntie, Mel!"

Aunty?

Melani was stunned to see the departure of a pair of elderly people who were walking hand in hand. He saw the two so compatible and seemed to love each other.

Suddenly a desire arose in his heart to pass through such old age. Still holding hands despite decades of marriage.

"You still want to be here, Mel?" ask Jendra who saw Melani still sitting in her chair.

Melani gasps. He looked at Jendra and again remembered the disappointed expression that the old man had shown.

"Sir, is it okay if it ends up like this?" asked Melani softly with teary eyes.

"Why? Why are you even sad when they no longer insist on their thoughts, Mel?"

"I just couldn't see the disappointment in their eyes" he said softly.

Jendra also admitted that he could not see the expression of his parents who seemed too hopeful that he soon found the right girl for him to marry.

However, he cannot marry Melani, the girl he does not love. Melani also does not want to marry him.

Did I try to marry Melani the way Kalandra married Kayla? And if gradually love will grow, then I'll cancel the deal.

Jendra brushed off the bad idea. She wasn't sure Melani wanted to. And for sure, one's fate will not be the same. Not necessarily if he took steps like Kalandra did, their wedding trip would be the same as the wedding of the man and Kayla.
