Chapter 11 Get Ready

Kalandra sat at her desk in the room. Kayla sits on the couch watching television.

The morning before noon, where both of them began to be suspected by Riana and Gia made them stay in the room. They only come down for lunch and dinner.

"Tomorrow I'll go to the office!" kalandra said without looking at Kayla.

Kayla was silent for a moment then her lips ripped out in annoyance. "Why don't you just take a week off?" the question as well as the innuendo that came out of Kayla's mouth.

"Minimum accompany me in this house."

Kalandra grins. "If I take too long off, my employees can work as they please."

"Then, what about my work that's definitely piled up?" ask Kayla.

"I could be working late every day when I work."

"Tell me if Jendra gives you a lot of work!"

"I'm not a brawler!" Kayla's reply was quick. "At the same time, I don't want personal matters to be mixed up with work!"

Kalandra looked at Kayla who was also looking at her. "Do you just work in my office?"

Kayla shakes. "I don't want to!"

"Why?" ask Kalandra. "Isn't it common for a wife to work in her husband's company."

Kayla frowned. Kalandra's words sounded a little strange. "Don't you remember if we were just husband and wife pretending?"

"Of course I remember that, Kay!" answer Kalandra fast.

"And in the office, you and I will be professional. As boss and subordinate."

"So, we don't have to act as husband and wife."

"And you'll stay close to me so that mom and Gia don't continue to suspect you or find out a lot about you."

Kayla thought for a moment. "I think it's riskier because your employees will be suspicious of us being too professional."

"And I don't want your employees talking about my life."

"Surely they will find out, what kind of woman you end up choosing as a wife."

Kayla is back. "I think working for your company is the wrong choice."

Without answering, Kalandra sat down beside Kayla.

"What do you want?" ask Kayla was-was. Afraid that Kalandra's messing with him.

"I just want to sit down" he replied.

"As for your plan, I seem to agree with you."

"We need to be more natural."

"Because sooner or later, Oma will come and she'll figure out our relationship."

"Oma?" Kayla frowned.

"Yes, Oma. My late father's mother" Kalandra replied.

"So, I have an oma who lives abroad with my uncle. And she can't be at our wedding because of bad weather."

Kayla thought for a moment. "About which fort is oma? In your stronghold or your mama?"

Kalandra smiled widely. "He's in our camp."

"But she loves Reygah too."

"Don't be happy first, that's why Oma will desperately find out about us."

Kayla smiled wryly. "I'm asking for my payment to be done monthly!"

"How did he make a career there?" ask Kayla curious.

"You can ask him directly. Oma will share her story with you, if you are deemed worthy of being her daughter-in-law's granddaughter."

Kayla scratched her forehead. Quick or not, I think it's free. Because this relationship is just pretend.
