Krieeet!
The wooden door of a minimalist house was open. The owner allowed Melani and Jendra to go inside.
The simple impression that Melani first felt when entering the house. The furniture also does not look modern, some are made of wood and the paint already looks dull.
"Sit down!" The woman walked somewhere.
Melani and Jendra sat in the living room. They both looked at the house.
"Mas, I suddenly became afraid like this" whispered Melani who was worried because she never knew what would happen after this.
Jendra asked him to calm down. "I've prepared everything, baby!"
"We are under surveillance" whispered Jendra.
Jendra secretly asked his man to stand guard outside the house but not to make the surrounding residents suspicious.
"Please drink" said the old woman after placing a tray on top of which there are two glasses of water.
"Sorry, there's only this!"
Melani smiled awkwardly. He did not want to drink at all for fear that there was something in the water. It may be a type of poison or medicine that can lower consciousness.
"Actually, I want to show you one thing" she told Melani.
"Ehm, yes ... Earlier, introduce my name Gayatri."
"I have no evil intentions. I just want to make sure of something.
"What's your name, son?"
"Melani Agnia," she replied.
"So you don't know who your birth parents are?"
Melani. "It doesn't really matter to me, Grandma. I can live without them."
The woman closed her eyes for a moment. "What if they can't live without you?"
"What does grandma really want?" jendra asked in an unfriendly tone. He rather snapped making Melani persuade him to be more polite to parents.
"Do you have a birthmark on your stomach? Right in the waist area, son?"
Melani and Jendra were equally surprised. Melani has that birthmark. Brown birthmark on the side of the abdomen.
"Like this?" The woman showed a photo of the baby with the same birthmark as hers.
Melani immediately stood up. He took the picture and started crying. It was her picture as a baby. His face was not much different from when he was found. Photos are stored in the parlor and he also stored in the gallery of his mobile phone.
Melani checked the phone and put the photo parallel to her phone. Right, it's exactly the same. His eyes, nose, and birthmark were the same.
Melani sobbed and shook her head slowly. *What is this fact, Lord? Decades I didn't find out, but by the time I got married, everything just unfolded.
Who am I really? Am I from a bad family? Would it be if after I found out my origin, Mas Jendra would still accept me? Then mama Jenar, does she want to have a daughter-in-law like me*?
"Darling!" Jendra held Melani's shoulder. "You okay? Why are you crying, Mel?"
"What does all this mean, Grandma?" ask Melani who ignored her husband.
"What is my relationship with my grandmother? Does Grandma know where my parents are? Does Grandma know who I really am?" asked Melani while sobbing. He sat down on his knees and held the woman's hand.
"Please, tell me why I was banished?"
"Please, meet me with my parents, Grandma."
"I want to ask, why do they not want my presence in this world?" Melani began to be unable to hold back her emotions. Jendra knelt down to calm his wife.
Melani was crying. He was angry, disappointed but still looking for reasons that made his life empty without the soft touch of his mother.
The woman rubbed Melani's head. "You're not banished, son!"
"You're just trying to be saved."
"But God wills another" said Gayatri, who was sobbing.
Melani and Jendra no longer know what to say. All this was so surprising to them.
"You want to see your mother?"
Melani nodded weakly. He is not sure the woman he will meet is his mother or not. But, if not try how he can know the truth.
The newlyweds followed in the footsteps of the woman named Gayatri. Melani pounding uncharacteristic when looking at the photo on the wall. A figura, with a photo of a young woman who looks a lot like her. The photo looks old.
Was the woman in the photo her mother when she was young?
Krieet.
Gayatri opened the door and saw a room that was not too large. The woman invites them both to go inside.
Melani and Jendra could only remain silent when they saw a middle-aged woman who was about 50 years old sitting facing a window.
The woman did not care at all about their presence. Melani could not see her face because she was standing right behind the woman.
"He's having a little mental breakdown."
Melani and Jendra are getting restless. The two begin to guess whether this woman is Melani's mother.
"But relax, he won't harm you."
"Then, she married a rich man. A man he knew in his school days." Gayatri started telling stories before Melani or Jendra asked.
"After they graduated from school, they got married. He was only 18 years old."
"After a year of marriage, she gave birth to a baby girl. Then, there was a tremendous mess in her husband's family."
"Because of the struggle for property, there was an all-out massacre committed by her husband's family against their little family."
"Her husband was the only biological child and at that time had a successor anyway."
"His husband did not survive. And she managed to escape with the baby."
"He went home to his parents. But alas, her parents were also massacred by her husband's family."
"People who don't know anything about their families are also victims."
Melani knew, the woman told him a very deep wound. Proven with endless tears."
"He asked his papa confidant to take his son's run. In the hope, her son could survive because the child was the rightful heir after her husband died."
"But destiny says something else. A few days later, his papa's man was found dead in the river."
"Until now, he had no idea of his daughter's whereabouts."
"Then, how did he survive, Bi?" ask Jendra.
"I and he ran away."
"I am the wife of her father's confidant."
Melani jerks. "Ja-so, grandma's husband is also a victim?"
Gayatri nodded. "Then we hid in my brother's village."
"The family of her husband who was the brains of the massacre was finally in prison and sentenced to death."
"I don't know how it goes about their property. Because a year after the case was over, we went a long way. We're moving and lastly, we've been living here for 20 years."
Melani crying. As the woman told the story, Melani saw a handwritten book on the cover of a table.
Mishel Aurora, the jewel of your heart.
"That's hers, the book that became a record of her grief."
Melani took the book and opened it. Lots of hand graffiti in the form of an outpouring of heart that is so touching.
Melani reads on the first sheet. A month, it felt almost incapable of living in this darkness. Why did Mirza and Mishelm leave Marsella alone?
Melani opens the second sheet. An image made in black ink, a picture of two necklaces with different chains of different length with the same pendant as hers.
Mirza Andrean's necklace is on me. And Marshella Anastasya's necklace is on Mishel Aurora. Is it possible that this necklace will merge again?
Melani is confused to read it. He closed the book and hugged it. Sticking it to the chest and closing it with the arm.
Melani approaches the woman named Marshella. He knelt down in front of the woman who began to be disturbed by his presence.
Marshella looked at Melani. His eyes did not blink, but slowly tears flooded his eyes.
A fine wrinkle under her eyes and around her nose indicates that she is no longer young.
"Did you introduce aunt, my name is Melani." Melani grabs Marshella's tender hand.
"Who is she, Aunt Gayatri?" asked Marshella without turning away from Melani's face.
"Can't you guess it, Marshella?"
Marshella touched Melani's cheeks, tracing each of her curves, her chin, and lastly her eyes.
"Why was her face like Marshella when she was young, Auntie?"
"Why his eyes ...." Marshella crying. "The eyes are like Mas Mirza, Auntie."
Melani raised her hand and showed the pendant hanging on her wrist.
Marshella didn't blink. He saw an object similar to his hanging just inches from his eyes.
"This-this!" Marshella stutters. With trembling hands, he held the pendant and looked closely.
Not only his hands, even at this moment his lips were also trembling. He began to not be able to cope with his emotions. He opened the locket and found the M. A. initial hidden inside.
Instantly Marshella covered her mouth with tears that were incessantly dripping. The memory in his brain was spinning repeatedly like a cassette tape.
Melani doesn't dare to do anything because she doesn't know how to deal with a mentally ill woman.
