Rings and Memories

This morning Dira was made to laugh by Ririn, his best friend. He told me about many things, about Mas Hendra who was already big but afraid of the same dark, about his funny Mini mouse that he often invited to sleep together, he said, about Imah (helper) who likes to sing dangdut songs every day and lastly about the relationship of love with Dirga, a man he knows in cyberspace. He said they promised to meet one day and would not upload photos as long as they had not met. It was a silly and strange thing for Dira, he laughed at her.

“aku same Dirga want to meet Dir.”

“when?.”

“vacation later, I can't wait Ra.”

Dira did not know, it turns out that Ririn and Dirga are serious about their relationship. In fact, he was amazed at the figure of Dirga who was so romantic on Ririn. Dirga was so special in Ririn's heart that she felt envious.

Unfortunately, the fate of Dira's love has never been as successful as Ririn, he had to reap the bitter reality since a year ago. Her first boyfriend, Rian, is gone from her forever by accident. That day was right with Dira's birthday, when Rian was heading to Dira's house with a ring for his girlfriend's birthday gift. But fateful, when in front of Dira's house, suddenly the truck hit his motorbike until his body slammed far away. Dira and the invitees rushed out of the house and met Rian who was already covered with blood. Dira cries and hugs Rian,

“you have to be strong Rian, you have to hold on, please” he said sobbing.

At his last moment, he still had time to give a ring to Dira and after that he also went for eternity from Dira's life. And until now, the ring never separated from Dira's ring finger. Even until now there is no one who can replace the figure of Rian in his heart even though there are many men who are close to him.

The break bell rang, it was time for Dira and Ririn to fill her stomach that had been charging her since morning. Today their lunch menu is different from yesterday. Today they ordered soto banjar Bu Ida who marked in front of the school. Soto is the most delicious at school that they enjoy together in the school park even though Ririn is still exciting with her laptop and chat with Dirga. Dira just smiled to see his best friend who was kasmaran.

“ ah you are Dir, rich never kasmaran aja!.” Sahut Ririn with meledek Dira back.

They laughed as they rushed back to class because the bell rang.

After school, Dira rested in the room and accidentally her eyes were fixed on a calendar that was striped red and black. A sign where there is happiness and sadness in the day concerned. Dira only realized that two more days his age would increase and along with it, even one year Rian left him. He quickly grabbed his picture with Rian who was beside his bed, precisely on a small blue closet. He began to look at Rian's charm again, as he smiled sweetly and embraced it. There, they looked so happy with a sweet smile together.

Dira cries and hugs dolls, photos, and kisses Rian's ring until he falls asleep and dreams. He dreamed, Rian came back in his life, he looked so handsome like a prince. He smiled sweetly at Dira, looking at her spoiledly. But in his dream, when Rian wanted to hug her, they could not touch each other until Rian's figure began to fade and disappear.

The morning was so bright but not as bright as Dira, he looked so sad and moody. He still remembered his dream, which seemed to see the figure of Rian as alive again. His mood suddenly disappeared, at school he looked moody to make his friends surprised to see it. Because the figure of Dira this morning changed, the cheerful Dira suddenly disappeared and seemed to return like he lost Rian first even though that day the results of the test will be shared.

When the announcement of the results of the school exam, Dira again got the first rank in her class while Ririn was still below it. Maybe this is the only way that can make Dira cool back. He went on stage with the other champions. His parents were proud to see their youngest son.

On his birthday, he was woken up by the sound of his home phone. He wakes up and receives a phone call that turns out to be from Ririn's parents,

“hello, this is Dira Septiana right?”

“iya, who is this?”

“ini Mother Ririn son, you quickly to RSCM yes, Mom wait”

Dira was shocked not to play, he began to feel there was something strange to Ririn, he seemed to be afraid of losing Ririn. Quickly, she woke up her brother to take him to the hospital immediately. He was so worried about Ririn, he was afraid of losing Ririn like he lost Rian first.

Upon his arrival at the hospital, Ririn's parents had been waiting for him in the hospital lobby and took him to an ICU room. Dira was shocked to see Ririn who was lying weakly with several intervals, he was like someone who had a malignant disease. And it turned out to be true, said his mother, Ririn had been suffering from malignant cancer after a year ago and yesterday the cancer relapsed. He also said that Ririn asked Dira to come to the hospital because she wanted to tell him something. Five minutes later, Ririn woke up and asked Dira to enter the room alone.

“Dir, before I leave, I would like to ask you one request, please!”

Ririn took off Dirga's ring a week ago, which she sent to one of the shipping agents.

The ring fell out of his hand and he closed his eyes forever. Quickly, Dira called her parents and the doctor. With a cry, her mother hugged Ririn who had been stretched stiff. Dira cried so much that he almost fainted but fortunately there was Dimas, his brother.

Dira immediately goes to the city park to meet Dirga, Ririn's boyfriend. Upon arrival, Dira sends a message through Ririn's cell phone.

Dira also immediately went to the place that Dirga said, he was curious about Dirga who had been so good to Ririn. But unfortunately, Ririn did not have time to see how Dirga existed in real life, not in cyberspace.

After a few minutes of walking Dira finally found the place where Dirga was. There, Dira saw two men waiting. One wears a red shirt, curly hair, his face is mediocre, his skin is black. Then Dira was surprised to see it, he was afraid that the person was Dirga. But the other young man looked the opposite of the young man earlier. The man wore a light blue shirt and dressed in black jeans, his hair was straight and cool, his skin was white like Dira and who did not miss, the guy was handsome. Dira hope, that person is Dirga, because he was afraid that Ririn was disappointed that Dirga was like that person.

Dira was confused, he was afraid of wrong people but fortunately, he got a brilliant idea. He tried to miscall Dirga and how surprised he was, both of them holding his phone. He became increasingly confused after his idea failed miserably, but he never gave up. He tried to remember Ririn's story a month ago. When Ririn told me what Dirga liked. And finally he remembered, Dirga hated the color red the most and liked the color blue. Knowing the answer, he tried to meet the handsome young man.

With a smile, the young man replied

They both kept quiet without talking. Dira is confused what to say first, until finally he decides to take a photo of Ririn from his bag and hand it to Dirga. Although he looked confused, Dirga took the photo with a little hesitation.

Dirga looked so shocked by what Dira said. He seemed to be in disbelief until Dira finally took him to the cemetery, the final resting place of Ririn and also he wanted to meet Rian in his grave.

From outside the gate, Ririn's tomb was already visible. The tomb is still wet and so cool because it is shaded by a large jasmine tree behind it. The tomb reads ‘Maurin adelia’, Dirga looks shocked by the reality. It was like blaming God. But fortunately, Dira immediately prevented it and showed Dirga the tomb opposite Ririn's tomb. The tomb reads ‘Rian Prayoga’, someone who is so special to Dira. Dirga was surprised to see the similarity of his fate with Dira, they both bought white roses for Rian and Ririn, someone who was so special in their hearts. After a year passed, Dirga and Dira were getting closer, they were also in college and getting older. But they never forget Rian and Ririn, who will never be replaced by the time in their hearts.
