Sherina, who was already in the delivery room, repeatedly stared at the entrance of the room.
"We're starting soon, huh, ma'am?" Sherina nodded with a face that began to sink in.
She still hopes that her husband will and accompany her in labor. But in fact until the end Marvin never came. Sherina had resigned and no longer expected her husband to come.
But when the process of birth was about to begin, suddenly the door of the delivery room opened and entered a man who had changed his clothes with special clothes.
"Sherina, I'll accompany you. Pray for your husband to be okay. You must both fight for the moment." Ivander whispered right in Sherina's ear.
Sherina's consciousness was back in full at once. He looked at Ivander with his red eyes. "What's wrong with my husband? He's fine, isn't he?"
Ivander was about to answer but he held back. She shook her head and asked her doctor to start labor. "You can do it, Sher. Marvin would be so proud of you."
Sherina, who asked Ivander again, decided to focus on her birth. What Ivander said was true, she had to successfully give birth to the daughter she and Marvin had been waiting for.
Sherina doesn't hesitate to use Ivander's hands as her focus. Not infrequently he gripped the hand to channel his pain. While Ivander, the man paid no heed to the pain at all.
Until shortly after, finally the voice of a baby girl echoed throughout the delivery room. Sherina sighed with relief despite being stupefied. She repeatedly thanked him for giving birth to her daughter.
"Niskala," the woman shrieked as a nurse carried her little daughter into her arms.
Ivander smiled faintly as he looked at Sherina's happiness. He stroked the little back of the baby girl, with one hand stroking the top of Sherina's head.
"I'm sure Marvin will be happy. You're a great mom, Rin." Sherina did not return Ivander's gaze.
The woman focused on looking at her daughter's face, with mixed feelings. She did not expect that in the end, the husband did not wait for her until their daughter was born.
"I'm sorry, honey?" sherina said with tears coming back down her cheeks.
He kissed the top of his daughter's head with a heart that felt so claustrophobic. Why didn't Marvin come? How important is the man's business until he does not go home immediately when he finds out if he will give birth?
The doctor said Sherina's baby was to be cleaned and would be given back after Sherina returned to the ward.
Ivander immediately came out of the delivery room, and approached Anne who was still faithfully sitting in front of the room.
"All survived? Sherina and her daughter are healthy, right?" anne asked worriedly.
Ivander nodded and leaned his body next to Anne. She looked at her son with a gaze that Anne could not understand.
She could not imagine how difficult it was for Nessie to give birth to her son. Moreover, Nessie was forced to have surgery because there was something wrong with her pregnancy.
Given this, Ivander immediately took his son from Anne's lap. The man looked at his son with such a deep gaze.
"It turns out being a mother is not easy. I just saw it" said Ivander suddenly, who made Anne turn her head to Ivander.
He smiled and clasped Kanwa's small hand that was draped in Ivander's hand.
"Listen to me. A mother gave birth to the child they had for nine months, with such an uphill battle. No matter how bad a woman is, if she has given birth to a child, she will have a different mindset. A more mature and better mindset can tell which is right and which is wrong."
Ivander was silent as he listened to Anne.
"Van, however, Nessie is still your wife. She is also the mother of Kanwa. There's no harm in you trying to give Nessie a new chance. Who knows, that woman has changed and is ready to take care of your child together." Anna's suggestion made Ivander instantly frown.
What Anne just said is absolutely true. But somehow there was a sense of unwillingness when Anne suggested that she should go back to Nessie. Doesn't that mean she won't need Anne anymore if Nessie comes back?
"You go back to Sherina's ward first. Once Sherina's out, I'll be there soon." Anne nodded obediently and took Kanwa from her father's lap.
Ivander stared at Anne's departure for Sherina's ward. She had no interest in the woman's life before.
Ivander, meanwhile, tried to contact one of his men and asked for clarity on how Marvin was doing for now.
"Are there any fatalities in Marvin's private jet accident? What is happening to Marvin now? She's okay, isn't she?" ask Ivander directly to the point that makes the person try to explain how Marvin really is.
"Mr Marvin suffered a broken bone in his right leg. So, it requires him to perform the operation as soon as possible. So if you ask us to take Mr. Marvin straight home there it doesn't seem possible. At least we'll have to wait until the operation's over."
Ivander was a little surprised to learn that there was a broken bone in Marvin's leg. But after thinking about how good, Ivander also obeyed the advice of his man.
"Alright, you take care of everything until it's done. Let me know if anything is needed" Ivander said before disconnecting her second call, as the delivery room opened and Sherina was able to be moved to her ward.
After arriving at her inpatient room, Sherina arranges for Ivander and Anne to sit on the sofa, which is opposite her safe.
Ivander can already guess, if Sherina will ask about what happened to Marvin. Therefore, he had tried to organize and sort out what he had to say and what he had to hide.
"Van, what happened to Marvin? Why hasn't he come home yet?" sherina asked in her weak tone as she looked at Ivander.
Anne looked confusedly at the two people. Yes the woman could not understand what Sherina said.
"I shouldn't have told you this. But since you're his wife and your circumstances have started to improve, so I'll say it. But please don't think about it too late. Everything's gonna be okay."
Sherina nodded her head obediently, so that she could immediately find out what had happened to her husband. "Calm down, I'll stay calm. At least one of my burdens has been successfully completed. My daughter has been born safely" Sherina, who was immediately acknowledged by Ivander.
"The private jet that Marvin brought from Singapore here, had an accident. Fortunately, there were no fatalities in the accident. It's just that two other passengers and the pilot, they've been seriously injured."
Ivander paused his sentence when he saw Sherina's stiff expression. His head was instantly dizzy, with breaths beginning to hunt.
"More badly, Marvin suffered a broken bone in his leg. This made Marvin inevitably have to be operated immediately. That's why, he can't go home yet because he has to stay in the hospital first."
Sherina's breath was immediately choked. He looked at Ivander with his incredulous gaze. What did that guy say? Her husband had an accident?
"My husband just got into an accident and broke his leg, and then you told me not to panic? You should know how a wife feels when she finds out her husband was in an accident" Sherina said in disbelief, which made Ivander nod his head in understanding.
"I know about it. But I said it because there is a reason. Marvin was fine, he only had a few minor injuries and also required his leg to be operated on so he could return to normal walking."
"Sherina, try to calm yourself down. Don't think too much about what I've been thinking. Understood?" Sherina did not reply, she turned her gaze in any direction.
"Where's Marvin, now? Can he be contacted?" asked Sherina in a tone that started to shake. Ivander was a little confused to answer the question at Sherina this time.
"Your husband is in the hospital. He'll be scheduled to have surgery as soon as possible today. So he can go home soon, to see you and Niskala." Ivander tries to give Sherina a reason not to ask her to contact Marvin.
"Please help me contact my husband. I just wanted to make sure he was okay. No more," asked Sherina again to confuse Ivander. She settled Anne with her confused look.
As Ivander was about to utter a sentence of rejection, suddenly the poster rang. It was a call from his man. So the brisk walk he immediately answered the call.
"Yes. Is there anything you need?" ivander asked as he looked at Anne and Sherina who had now settled down expectantly.
"Vans. It's me, Marvin."
