CHAPTER 4
"I intend to marry you, in the near future. Do you agree?"
The words said by Ivander just now, managed to make Nessie's smile appear. The woman hugged from behind by Ivander was left happy when she found out that her lover was about to marry her.
That means she won't have any trouble making plans for Sherina and Ivander to divorce. It also means that the child will be guaranteed his life. Not only that, it means that there will be no one who can separate between himself and the lover.
"really?! Does that mean you're getting divorced from Sherina?" nessie asked as she turned her body towards Ivander. Ivander, hearing Nessie's question, let out a long sigh and let go of Nessie's embrace.
"If for that, I still can't, Ness. You know for yourself, don't you, all your powers and possessions are in that woman's hands? If I divorce Sherina and marry you, what if papa kicks me out of the house? Do you want to live poor afterwards?" Ivander casually answered the woman's question, while sitting on the bed that had been a silent witness of the affair between him and his secretary.
"I'm actually confused by the thoughts of your parents. How could they trust Sherina more than you? How valuable is that woman in your family, so much that your mom loves her so much?" nessie said while wearing her clothes.
After buttoning all the buttons on her shirt, Nessie walked up to Ivander who had already sat on the bed. The pregnant woman sat down next to Ivander and prepared to listen to the story, which she did not even know in its entirety.
"It all started when my mom, dad, and her mom Sherina just came home from some kind of exhibition outside the city. But as for me, they had an accident. Mom was just a minor injury. That's bad papa's with Sherina's mother." Ivander tries to explain the chronology of the unfortunate incident that befell his family.
"Certainly? What correlation? Your mom is still alive today, right?" nessie asked lightly, as if she had no sense of empathy when she heard Ivander's story.
"Papa was the most critical. Doctors say that papa needs a heart donor in the near future. Whether fate or what it is, Sherina's mother is the worst and will not be long. Mama said, if Sherina's mother wants to be a heart donor for papa. He said his heart would be more useful after he died. So the doctor chose to do a heart transplant after Sherina's mother died" Ivander explained in a clear manner for the first time.
No wonder Ivander's mother gave half of her inheritance to Sherina, and the rest to her son. Ivander's mother also threatened to give Ivander's share of the inheritance to Sherina, if Ivander ever divorced Sherina.
It is different if Sherina is the one who sued Ivander's divorce first. So there, Sherina will lose half of her inheritance. If Ivander thinks that Sherina will never divorce him out of fear that if her inheritance is reduced, then it is wrong.
Actually Sherina is tired of the marriage based on the matchmaking, but 3 things that make Sherina still want to survive.
The first was due to the mandate of her single mother, the kindness of her mother-in-law, and one thing Ivander never thought of.
'Because I fell in love with my husband. Even from the very first mother took me to wander into the city, and live under one roof with her. I still hope to God, who knows there is little chance that our marriage will go as it should.
Yes, that's why Sherina still wants to survive a marriage that is not at all happy life. Somehow Sherina could drop her heart on a man like Ivander. A man who never gave a living to him, and never considered himself to exist.
While Nessie and Ivander are ready for their vacation plans, it soon goes down. Because of his second vacation which is really private, Ivander prefers to drive his own car. He doesn't want anyone to know he's leaving with Nessie.
The two decide to go to one of Ivander's recently refurbished villas. Both are planning to stay for a week. Nessie, fearing that Ivander would have an impromptu meeting, tries to ask Ivander to rethink their plans to leave.
But Nesseie has not yet revealed what she thinks, a remark from Ivander who said that they both need time to be together after a lot of problems that come their way. If Ivander decides to remain in the city, Ivander can ensure that he will not be free to visit Nessie and their son.
Finally, not wanting to waste more time, the two of them immediately run their car away from Nessie's apartment. During the trip, the two talked a lot about the wedding plans that they would do secretly.
"Are you going to tell Sherina about this matter? Then what if he won't let you marry me?" ask Nessie who's interrupting what Ivander's saying.
"Of course, I'll tell that woman everything. My main purpose for telling him about this matter is, so that the two of us can stay together. That way there won't be anything else we cover up from that woman. Don't worry about whether he's going to marry or not. With his permission or not, I'll still marry you." As if Sherina would allow her marriage, Ivander confidently told her lover.
"Hopefully Sherina doesn't act much later" Nessie said, imagining a happy day between herself and Ivander. The day on which he will live freely and without burden.
She no longer has to be tired of working to finance her life, not to mention the cost during her pregnancy. In her heart, she felt very grateful that she had decided to work in the Ivander family office. And he was also grateful because thanks to his courage to tempt Ivander, now he can ride life on his lover.
The car carrying Ivander and Nessie almost arrived at the villa. But because Ivander had little business, the man pulled his car over at a nearby rest area, leaving Nessie alone.
As Nessie is aloof, the woman is shocked to learn that there is an incoming call on her lover's phone. Without waiting for a longer time, Nessie immediately saw who called her lover. The woman frowned when she learned that the one who called Ivander was the legal wife of the man.
