Chapter 74 - Burden

Gaju and Tian moved quickly down and broke through the leafy grove beneath them. Tian was still calm and did not look afraid at all.

"Tian, aren't you afraid?" goda Gaju towards his soulmate.

Tian shook his head silently and Gaju chuckled a little for the umpteenth time.

Gaju raised his right hand and glanced towards the tree. Tian looked at it and was a little confused. From the beginning, Tian was never frightened because he knew that with the help of Gaju's needle and metal thread, the height meant nothing to them.

Tian also knew that Gaju's right hand contained needles to attack and defend.

Gaju's left hand contained a needle attached to a metal thread and was used to manouver in the air and set traps.

But right now, Gaju doesn't use his needles at all. He raised his empty hand, then.

Gaju's palm formed a claw and moved quickly towards the tree and then immersed into it. Gaju's hand sank to the limit of the wrist and then gripped the tree. In just a matter of seconds, the two of them were restrained and there was a longitudinal scratch on the tree trunk caused by Gaju's actions earlier.

Gaju smiled a little. Like a child who has just shown his abilities and wants to be praised by his lover.

Tian stunned.

He now realized what Gaju had just done. Gaju showed Tian his true abilities.

After being stunned for a while, Tian smiled. He realized the meaning of his soulmate just now. By showing his true abilities in front of Tian, that meant, there was no longer any barrier that had separated Tian and his Soulmate since long ago.

Now Gaju trusts Tian completely and from this moment on, they officially become a soulmate who trusts each other.

Gaju released his handrails and kicked into the tree trunk.

"Come," said Gaju as he extended his hand.

Tian smiled and welcomed Gaju's hand. But, a moment later, the little girl was already back in Gaju's arms carrying her, Tian wrapped her hands around Gaju's neck and let Gaju carry her.

"I can walk on my own" whispered Tian slowly with a reddened face.

"I knew. But you're too slow" Gaju replied with a small laugh.

"Bas with the show-offer," murmured Tian.

The two of them moved within the Forest like that for half an hour before finally deciding to rest.

Gaju lowered Tian and opened his backpack.

They both ate the rations they had. Without saying anything but looking at each other.

"Style, how many of your original scores?" tian asked when the food was up.

Gaju smiled, "i don't know what my IA score was because I never really did a test with all my abilities."

"But for physical scores. Mm mm. I think I have a cumulative score of 7.34, with Strength 2.38, Speed 2.48, and Agility 2.48 points" he continued.

"You..." Tian was at a loss for words.

Tian took a deep breath, "I think Koga is just like the kids in front of you, right?" tian said softly in a sad tone.

"Why do you look sad?" ask Gaju.

"I... I'm afraid that I'll just be a burden to you" Tian replied softly.

Gaju was silent for a moment then laughed out loud. Tian turned his lips when he saw Gaju's behavior.

"You!! You are indeed... Do you like to see Tian sad?" sumpul Tian's.

"Have you seen the list of items that can be exchanged for points from your mini computer?" ask Gaju.

Tian nodded his head slowly.

"Then... You should understand that strategists and fighters are just the beginning. PA and IC scores are just numbers. After advancing with the help of items provided by the Island, my physical abilities might even be just a joke to a fighter who has fully developed" Gaju said.

Tian still did not look convinced by his soulmate's words.

Gaju took a deep breath.

"I met Gama yesterday. The Mad Genius. You know what he's doing?" ask Gaju.

Tian shook his head.

"Gama created an armor that provided amplifiers to cover his physical weaknesses. And do you know? He is very strong" said Gaju.

"I hit him with all my might and he could still stand as if nothing had happened" Gaju continued in a tone of admiration.

"Only Griffin is able to take my hit as hard as he can and still stand up as if nothing happened."

"And that's all Gama did with his own armor. What if Gama could afford the intelligence armor provided by the Island?" ask Gaju.

"I'm not sure I would be able to defeat him if he had that armor," Gaju said in a muttering tone.

"You're fighting Griffin?" ask Tian.

Gaju was surprised, what he wanted to convey seemed not to be influenced by Tian and instead his soulmate was more interested in Griffin.

"I fought him and only managed to hurt his eyes. He still owes me money for almost making you lose your life. Next time, I will return the favor, plus the flowers," replied Gaju.

"But the point is not that Tian," continued Gaju quickly.

Tian smiled, "i know Gaju. With advancement I can also be as strong as Gama and will not be a burden to you. But I don't want to be a fighter clad in armor like that" Tian replied.

"Again, I don't want my pretty face to be covered in a helmet like that all the time" Tian continued in a joking tone.

Gaju was stunned with his mouth agape. Do all girls have the same thoughts about their beauty? gaju lamented in his heart.

"I'm strategist. I will take advantage of my advantages there. Ever since I woke up a few days ago. I've been thinking about how I can help you fight and survive" Tian said.
